Morning, my chicks,
Hope it is being or was a good Monday morning - much like Terri's bank holiday, here on our Memorial Day holiday, it's wet, wet, wet. Still. Supposed to move off this afternoon, and a couple dry days, then rain again Thursday. Wettest spring in recent memory. Not like I can do anything to change it… Egg is, however, of the opinion that this is my fault, I think. 😾🐈⬛😸
Kim - I would have done anything for my mother joyfully, gladly, not just because she was my mother, but because she was an amazing human being, and she made it easy to want to help. I am truly in awe of your strength in continuing to go back to your mother's week after week after week. I'm not sure I could have done as much as you have for as long as you have, in fact, I know I couldn't. So much respect for you.
Beth - That's a lot in a short period of time. Hope your time with your mother was able to bring you joy in a stressful week.
Rori - One of the few times I've seen a picture of you NOT smiling - you were definitely a little apprehensive on the back of that horse. So glad the rest of your time with your Goober was as wonderful and adventurous as it usually is. So glad you have this in your life.
Kylia - Well done you for not playing into your DH's blame game. Isn't it interesting how just looking at two cats sleeping curled up in a chair can bring so much peace in that moment? It's as if their calm and security is contagious. I had heard there were massive ransomware attacks in your part of the U.S., glad he was able to get his surgery in spite of it. Love the pics.j
Lanette - Anytime I can get outside, I have that same manicure by the time I go back in - and that's with wearing gloves most of the time. Not sure where I pick up all the dirt from! Probably due to all the years of protecting my hands because my work was with computers for the last 20 years, my hands feel naked and defenseless without gloves on when I'm working.
I have been trying to do new things that I can accomplish while watching TV in the evenings—Corey reads beside me, so he doesn't care what I watch. And…I made my first amigurumi stuffie this week. It was a $10 kit from Walmart, everything included, though I did use my own crochet needle… the one in the kit was a little sketchy.
I'm reasonably pleased with how it turned out, in the end. A little hard to pay attention to Midsomer Murders and pay attention to stitch counts, so I did a bit of frogging here and there, but not tough to do.
The hardest bit was trying to work to someone else's design! Much like recipes, I do try to "color in the lines," so to speak, the first time I do something like this. I made some mods, like making the belly teardrop shaped instead of round. This my first try at anything 3-dimensional with crochet.
I tried a needlepunch kit, but after three stitch tries with that punch needle, I decided I'd go back to satin stitch. Good lord, I don't have enough years left to do that. I'd rather punch myself! I'll try most anything, but that was just not going to happen.
Walmart+ and Prime decisions:
Got a Walmart delivery order in - still debating whether to keep my Walmart+ account, as the decision comes up in June. Will be giving up my Amazon Prime account in October when it comes due, though. I'm able to get every channel that I stream through my Prime account on my TV separately now, if I choose to do so - including Acorn and Britbox.
The decision is mostly because we order less from Amazon every month. They're no longer the best price on everything, they no longer live up to their delivery promises, and getting commercial-free prime videos and "free" delivery is now up to $200 a year - $159 for Prime and $2.99 a month to avoid commercials.
Their customer service is getting worse and worse as well. They completely lost my last order, and had I not checked on it, would have never refunded it. I had to request it, even though they KNEW it was lost!
That $200 a year also does not include the extra added amount for channels like Acorn and Britbox as well. The only thing we want to keep from Amazon is our Kindle Unlimited accounts which, again, were charged over and above our Prime account.
Corey reads something on the order of 30 books a month, the vast majority through Kindle Unlimited. I got three months free, and will decide whether to keep that $11 monthly charge after that.
Grocery delivery coming late morning, mostly pantry items. Debating between a cassoulet tonight or chicken parmesan. Not sure yet. Corey will eat either one happily, my choice.
Later, my chicks,
Love,
Lisa in Arkansas-gy… ⛈️🌦️🌧️☔5 -

Wow, Lisa, I'm always amazed at how much you pay for services in the US. Our Prime is less than £100 a year. I've only watched 3 films in the last few months, but we have deliveries every day, sometimes several things a day. I could not have done my bedroom without it. I always check prices and jump on stuff when it's on offer. Currently, I have a chair, bedlinen and olive oil on order, and today a camisole arrived.
We also don't have to pay for streaming or cable, as we are on Freeview. Just an annual fee to the BBC, which everyone pays. Every time one of you mentions prices, I'm amazed. On the plus side, I know your 'gas' is cheaper than ours. 😄
I've just thrown out a whole lot more stuff. Mainly underwear I've never, or rarely worn, but also two swimsuits, tights and stockings. Feels soooo good. I now have all my underwear in my room, with only some stuff I only take on cruises in John's room. I have a small donation pile. Now pondering on jewellery. 😀
Kim - You are an angel.
Happy belated Birthday to Pip. 🚴♀️
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Good morning ladies!
Lisa - I have been cutting back on Amazon purchases too except for items I can't buy locally like Rosie's dog food, though I might switch over to Chewy for that. Most of what I used to buy from Amazon is now much less expensive if I can find it to purchase locally. Interesting how much technology takes up in our budget these days. Phone, wi-fi, streaming tv/movie services. My grandparents never had to worry about these costs, just the landline, and the party line was sometimes a source of entertainment, lol.
One recent Amazon purchase that I absolutely love is a milk foamer. It was only a few dollars with the rewards I had accumulated. Great for incorporating protein powder in liquid and spices like in my chai latte. I often put cinnamon in about 1/4 c of milk, foam it up well and immediately eat it with a spoon. Reminds me a little of flavored whipped cream so a fairly harmless treat that's a little decadent. And cinnamon is good for blood sugar management and maybe our cognitive health as well.
Kylia - glad your DH had his surgery. Do you think his pain/worry about it contributed to his grumpiness? I think watching kitties and dogs relaxing/sleeping relieves our own stress on some level too. I never get tired of seeing the photos of your girls. 😘
Kay - what a nice update on Possum, and good job YOU on breaking through that plateau. So glad you've found a program that's been easy for you to incorporate into your life.
Rori - you live in a beautiful area, so glad you were able to spend some time with N exploring there. And part of it on a horse no less. 😁
Tracey - I had a 2" quality topper on the mattress and took it off several weeks ago. It might have made a little positive difference. I am not sure how much the mattress contributes to my back. I seem to be sleeping better these days with strategically placed pillows. Seems like very joint is stiff when I first get out of bed and I'm grateful once I move around a few minutes, most areas limber up. The joy of aging, lol.
Heather - Hope you are feeling better. It was great seeing your latest family photos. John looked dapper in that hat. I bet many of us ladies would as well- remember Annie Hall? I always wear a hat when I go outside here - sometimes a Vera-type rainhat, or a Stetson - straw in the summer, felt in the winter. It might be fun to wear a hat when I go out in public places but I'm not sure if the hat hair is worth it.😁
Margaret - I also aim to keep my knees no higher than my hips not only for my knees, but my lower back as well. I have cushions on most chairs, including the recliner so my hips don't sink so low. When I went to PT a couple months ago, I was put off by the therapist who had me do the sit-to-stand test from a low chair. My thighs hurt so much I could barely walk for 2 days. I think he was more focused on selling me on the dry needling ($50 cash, not covered by insurance) than paying attention to that.
Kim - sorry to hear about your friend's mishap - you were so kind to fill in while her DH was gone for a bit. You're right, appreciation and kindness goes a long way when we're on the receiving end of care like that. It's a long span between the feeling of being grateful for help vs. feeling someone has a duty to help us.
T made it out yesterday afternoon and picked up a load of tomato plants. Now I just need to get mine planted this week and I'll be off to the races.
OK ladies, remember our discussion ages ago that we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with? I realized this morning that I spend most of my time with a little schnauzer, 3 hens, you all on MFP here, daily texts with T and my occasional lunch buddies. Things sure have changed in the last few years. 🤔 Not sure what my "average" is anymore.😁
On that note, make it a fabulous week!

Had fried chicken and southern potato salad from Publix grocery store today! I am sure that I have no calories left for today but must say it was delicious!
Amazon has become a little iffy but I will keep shopping there as I hate to shop in most of the stores near me! My biggest plus for Amazon has always been that you can easily send products back without much hassle. But I am realizing that I need to read the descriptions of their products and the reviews more carefully. A while back I ordered a 4" mattress topper, realized it would be too much, and Amazon would not let me cancel it. They said it was being processed but it had not been shipped at all. Ended up having to have my son haul it away as there was no way to get it back in the box.

MFP Weekly Check-In for May 26, 2025
Rita in Roswell NM - finally got new batteries for my scale! I’m glad to say that I stayed the same since the last time I weighed. At 184.4 this morning. Leaving tomorrow for my trip with K. Not sure what THAT will do to me. I’ll try to make good choices those 4 days.
Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - Average WT back down to 132.9 for last week and this morning down another 0.2, YAY! Average steps soared up to 7609, and even made goal 3 days of 7.
Will pull up my big girl panties and look at AF days later. Ps2s habit solid if no easier.
Looking forward to fewer commitments this week, time to play in the dirt!
Lanette in SW WA – Weight staying within desired range = favorite jeans fit just fine. Average daily steps 8772 – up a lot due to mowing, yardwork. Walking carrying weights 30 - 45 minutes per day, divided throughout the day after meals. One lap at 10#. I can tell it's helping my grip = jar opening.

Rori – almost all my clothes are from thrift stores. I won’t buy bathing suits, shoes, nothing that can’t be washed at a thrift store. I can rarely find pants, tho, since I need a short or petite size and almost everything is a regular. But just about anything else….Ever since COVID so many of them are opening later, which I do not like. Oh well….. Fantastic pictures. The one where you had your coffee looks so very relaxing
kylia – boy, have you been busy! Neat about the balloon.
Just came back from a pool store. Vince needed a part for the heater for the spa and he didn’t know how to describe it. So he took the part to the store and they had it. Then went to Lowe’s Hardware where he got twist ties, dowels for some of my ceramics and some pipe for the pool. Stopped at CVS and got 2 bottles of Head & Shoulders that were on sale and with my coupons wound up spending $1.67. I guess I can handle that price for shampoo….lol
It’s misting right now.
Lisa – I totally agree with you about Amazon. The thing I use them for is many times they have things that you just can’t find anywhere else. We one time priced pool salt. They wanted something like $14 for a bag. The only advantage is that they’d put the 40lb bag in our garage. Lowe’s has it for $7 a bag. For $7 I think we can put it in the car and then in the pool shed.
Not sure what happened this morning, but the alarm never went off. Vince and I both overslept. As soon as I got up I texted the mgr at BK to say that I was coming in but that the alarm didn’t go off. I know that if someone is usually there early and they don’t show up, I’d worry. Last weekend she asked for extra tomatoes and onions (they are the most labor intensive). She’s also going to some meeting or something this weekend with the asst. mgr so I’m going to give them extra tomatoes and onions this weekend, too.
Being rainy, made the bed in the back bedroom, cleaned our bathroom floor (I even found an earring that I thought was lost!), Swiffered the floor, cleaned the microwave, next I’ll clean the toilets. But for now...here
One of the things that I dislike about Amazon is when you look for something, like I looked to see exactly what Lanette’s milk foamer was, now I know that I’m going to get all these “suggestions” from Amazon about it. Really, I’m not interested in buying one, I was just curious
Lanettte – my way of walking with weights is when I walk to Food Lion and then have to carry the groceries home….lol
Going for a short walk

😀 I have had great success with Amazon. I use them primarily for grocery and household products especially a few that aren't available locally. I'm not a big shopper but when I need something, I'm glad to be able to find it and order it, and get it right away. I watch a lot of TV. It's my primary source of entertainment along with reading. I watch shows on Amazon, Brit box, PBS Masterpiece, and Acorn and am never without something engaging to watch. I've had to return some things and I've had great success with the returns.
😀 My reading comes from the library (physical books, e books, audio books) and from paperback swap online. Recently I bought a few used books from e bay.
😀 Yesterday I mowed the grass which was a good thing because it rained overnight—-not enough to do the plants any good but enough to make the lawn too wet to mow.
😀 Pip, happy birthday, a little late.

Lisa: I hope you have your energy back!
Ginny: I am struggling a bit with my son and DIL. I don't want to ask too many questions. So I talk too much about myself. I need to really understand their interests!
Barbie: Congrats on washing your fence! I need to remember to wash my outside chairs!
RVRita: Enjoy your trip! Congrats on getting Lucy!
Heather: I love the painted porch!
Mandy: Welcome!
Rori: Love the pictures!
Pip: Happy Birthday
Machka: I have a colonoscopy next week. My 4th..they always find polyps and want me to come back in 5 or 6 years. I remember the day I gave away all clothes size 14 and under. I had a big, black trash bag. Quite heavy and I parked downtown and dragged it along the street to the thrift store. There were some nice clothes in the bag. But they were no longer right for me!
I only went back 5 pages. I hope everyone is doing well. It has been quite the month. My friend and I had a great vacation. We stayed at the Marriott Resort in Myrtle Beach. A nice family property. We saw a Pirate Show which was owned by Dolly Parton. So it was a pretty talented group of Pirates! And enjoyable. We also saw Jefferson Starship …who evolved from Jefferson Airplane. LOL..I knew most of the songs! There were people there with walkers and in wheel chairs! It was much fun!
Then we drove to Charleston and saw a play. Into the Woods..This was a talented group of actors/actresses. The play had also been a movie with Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp had been in the movie. I didn't care for the storyline so much. And we took a horse and buggy ride around the historical district/French district and walked the area as well. We then went to a resort outside of Charleston that I did not care for so much.
Then we drove to Savannah and stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. This was fun. And we saw a few historical sites and did a dinner cruise. One of the waitresses knows how to line dance and the cruise line has really benefitted from this. Because she gets line dancing going and really everyone has much fun!
And we spent a night at Tybee Island near Savannah.
Meanwhile my mother was healing from a broken femur. So I flew out of Savannah and went to the Boston area for a week. I saw her each day for about 3 hours. She is trying to be in very good spirits. She is now in a nursing home. It is very hard not to be closer to her. She has one son in particular who sees her regularly. That family is traveling this week. But she is hanging in there.
Last week I came home and was very ill. I had no energy. It could have been COVID. By the time I tested, the test was negative. I did not drive for a week!
My weight has stayed stable through all this. The compounded drugs are off the market! Sigh! I lost 10 pounds with the compounded drugs and gained 3 back. It was really great not being hungry! Maybe after the colonoscopy I will look for an appetite suppressant to take. I have started back walking!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

UPDATEon yogi:
Yogi’s bump is still growing. Yesterday was my birthday and it was memorable, he gave us a real scare.. last night he was shaking (like when they are cold or at the vets office) and I was awake hugging and reassuring him. At one point he got off the bed (we have a dog ramp that he uses) and I followed him to the spare bedroom and he had a seizure there for the first time. Before that he went outside to potty. We are putting the air mattress downstairs and will be sleeping with him downstairs so he doesn’t have to go upstairs and use the ramp to get on our bed. I am not one to take naps during the day but I did today so I can stay up with him all night if I have to. This morning we took him for the usual walk and put him in the buggy for part of the walk. I will be calling the vet tomorrow for any appointment cancellations to see if I can get him in sooner (have appointment for him on the 2nd). I found that they have an at home euthanasia service here (we used one for our first golden in Washington) in California where we live, the same service actually. He seems to be fine during the day but it’s the nighttime when he is having his issues. I am missing him so much already and he isn’t even gone yet.15 -

No line dance class today, Elks was closed for the Memorial Day holiday. Was kinda hoping there’d be no Classic Fit class, but alas, there was. Only 8 people showed up and BOY did she work us hard. I even felt an abdominal muscle or two, amazing as I’ve often claimed to have none. Dogs to powerline and Jeopardy walking to make steps goal earned me a little time for some more catchup.
Mo I go in for my annual next month. MD includes a battery of cognitive tests with the annual so we’ll see if any changes, and whether or not, will discuss the issue of the DVD looking different and not remembering having bought it with him. Thanks for thinking of me! You are truly an angel, I could not work with those poor, abused babies, without wanting to do violence to their “parents.”
Lanette that menopause meme made me laugh out loud but I wouldn’t try to explain to Joe what was so funny…
Belated welcome @mandyrosews Mandy from New Haven!

my dh tends to do the same thing- so annoying.
Mine is a bit irritated with me now because I am going to go to mom's in the morning, coming home Wed. afternoon.
Need to get as much of her garden planted as I can. First will be the popcorn- we are a month late. I don't know if anyone else knows how to use the antique corn planter. It will take me a few minutes but will get the rhythm down again. I spent many, many hours, using that old thing- planting an acre of corn every spring. Second will be okra- mom ran out of okra pickles- that makes me so sad. I miss them ;)
I will be taking plants that I bought and ones I started up with me to also plant.
Will see what is ready in the green house. May be too small- will wait and see.Worked in the back yard most of the day after morning chores(lots of dishes, laundry, cat chores) All while dh either slept or laid in bed watching tv. Said he still wasn't feeling great. The only productive thing he did for the whole day was clean the litter boxes. I am happy with all the work I got done.
Have almost everything planted in both front and back garden. A few things still in the green house. A few tomatoes that need to go in big pots.Made a big dinner- rib eye steak, lobster tails, sauteed peppers/onions/mushrooms, corn on the cob, cucumber and calamari salad plus rice for him. Turned out great- Was irritated with him. Told him it was ready and he didn't come out from watching tv for 20 min. Grabbed his food and went right back in to watch more tv.
Going to have some ice cream with my hot tea(yep- have to have that combination- just the ice cream and instant asthma attack) then go pack my bag. Want to be out of here by 9 at the latest. If I wake up early, I will leave earlier. Want to work before it gets too hot up there. Need to remember sunscreen!

What about wearing a pair of leggings and trying pants over them. They wouldn't add too much and you would still be totally covered when trying them on

Hi Ladies;
I had to spend the day in bed due to my headaches. This time, they were in the back of my head on the right side. I did my sinus treatment, took meds, Shower with a headache steamer, drank tea, and took an ice pack. Now, at 1:24 a.m., the headache is gone.
DH is coming to visit to help DD get a car. State Farm said that it was ruled that the accident wasn't DD's fault. So DH let them know that we carry uninsured motorist insurance. So, they sent a check. I told DH he could move some things to the condo, like my books. He said we would see what would go on at the condo. I told him my things come with me, or we might as well live separately. So I won that battle. I have a feeling that the war isn't over.
Tomorrow, I have an appointment with the orthotics lady. I will get refitted for both feet and then I can go back to my workouts.
My Rose has been very needy. In between headaches, we go downstairs to watch TV and prep dinner. Rose barked loudly when I talked to DH and was quiet when I spoke to my friend Mar-Mar. Then Rose started whimpering, so I let her out and sat inside the patio in one of the chairs. Then I gave her a whimsy so I could talk, but she finished that in 5 minutes. When I got off the phone, she was fine.
I hope all is well with you all.
Pip, I'm so sorry about Yogi. He looks like a golden retriever mixed with a black lab.
Welcome Mandy!
Sue, I am so sorry about your kitty. It is so hard to say goodbye to our furbabies.
Allie, I hope you get some rest.
Rebecca, it sounds like you are doing great with your meals.
Kylia, I hate when our mates try to tell us it is our fault for everything. I usually turn it into a joke so my DH can hear how crazy he sounds. Your Kitties are so sweet.
M, Congratulations on your 20-plus-pound loss! Great job!
Lisa, your yard looks so good. You and Corey worked your butt off, and it all paid off.
I just took a BC for my headache, which is starting to return. I see my GP on the 4th. I may need to see neurology. I wonder if it is stress. Have a wonderful day.

According to the linked article, I quote …
To prevent future UTIs, you should:
- Choose sanitary pads instead of tampons, which some doctors believe make infections more likely.
- Change your pad each time you use the bathroom.
Do not douche or use feminine hygiene sprays or powders. As a general rule, do not use any product containing perfumes in the genital area.
Take showers instead of baths. Avoid bath oils.
Keep your genital area clean. Clean your genital and anal areas before and after sexual activity.
Urinate before and after sexual activity. Drinking 2 glasses of water after sexual activity may help promote urination.
Wipe from front to back after using the bathroom.
Avoid tight-fitting pants. Wear cotton-cloth underwear and pantyhose, and change both at least once a day.
Storing bags and scarves - I use a coat stand similar to the one in the photo.
Mainly I use it for my dressy scarves which I never wear anymore and haven't in the last decade because they're too hot. but they look pretty in the corner of the dressing room.
I also have a few bags on the stand too, under the scarves.
I have 3 much smaller versions (possibly mug holders) for my necklaces and beads. Again, I rarely wear necklaces anymore, but they look pretty on the dresser.
Closets - I have 2 decent sized closets in the bedroom and a cupboard with shelves. In the dressing room, I've got a huge dresser with a hutch, a smaller dresser, my coat stand with scarves, a tall shelf for shoes, and a stack of cubes for my cycling gear. In the entryway, I've got the top half of another tall shoe shelf. And I think I'll have a spot for jackets and coats soon.
I would like all my clothes to fit in those locations, and nothing to be hidden away in bins. But I think there are at least 3 bins of clothes in storage somewhere - 1 is in the bedroom, I'm not sure where the rest are.
Donating clothes - yesterday, a bag of shoes and a bag of clothes went to an OP shop. Slowly but surely.
Clothes - I have quite a few dressy clothes for work - we dress up quite a bit most of the time. Dresses, skirts, blouses, cardigans. And with that I've got drawers of base layers to wear under the dresses and skirts in different temperatures: anti chafe shaping shorts, knee length knickers and full length leggings and snug shaping tanks . Plus a drawer of tights - I'm not as fond of them because they make me feel hot.
I've got formal-ish clothes for going out to the symphony etc.
I've got nice casual clothes for going out shopping or whatever, stretchy casual clothes for sitting around home, and working casual clothes for when I'm in the garden.
I've got a couple drawers of pjs because I love some nice comfy sleepwear and like wearing them while lounging around on a weekend morning.
I have workout clothing, cycling clothing, running clothing, and now a little collection of swimwear.
And I've got it all in summer, spring/autumn, and winter. 😀
About the only thing I don't have (or have only a few) is thick, heavy pullover sweaters.
Garden French Manicure - I frequently wear that look! 😁
@auntiebk - sorry about your fall. I hope you're OK.
And I really think that you not recognising the DVD player was completely normal. As I mentioned, it's a very common thing to do … if you see a person or thing in a different location, you no longer have the cues your brain has associated with the person or thing and so you forget. Same as when we forget a work colleague's name when we see them in the grocery store.
If that's a problem, I'm in real trouble!
@drkatiebug - well done on the weight loss!
@Poerava14 - beautiful pictures! Such a gorgeous area. I'm glad you got to share the experience with your "N".
@kymarai - lovely kitties!
@Snowflake1968 - I'm glad you had fun at the Scrapbook Carnival. It sounds like something right up your alley.
@GodMomKim - I would wear one of my shapewear tank tops and knee-length leggings if I were trying on clothes out in the open.
@Snowflake1968 - yes, I agree … knees the same height or slightly lower than hips.
"A person can improve their posture and achieve a proper sitting position by:
- keeping the feet flat or resting them on the floor or a footrest
- avoiding crossing the knees or ankles
maintaining a small gap between the back of the knees and the chair
positioning the knees at the same height or slightly lower than the hips
placing the ankles in front of the knees
relaxing the shoulders
keeping the forearms and knees parallel to the floor where possible
holding the elbows at the sides, creating an L-shape in the arms
sitting up straight and looking forward without straining the neck
keeping the back against the chair or using a backrest or cushion if there are places where the back does not comfortably meet the chair, especially in the lower back region
avoiding sitting for extended periods, ideally taking at least a 10-minute break for every hour of sitting
switching positions regularly"
Good article in the link below …
Also, I like sitting upright because I find it more difficult to breathe properly when I'm in any sort of reclined or slumped or slouched position. I strongly dislike soft sofas and chairs for that reason!

Today was a full day at work, and then swimming lessons.
I am all right with swimming on my back and treading water, but still trying to work on what I'm supposed to do when I am on my stomach.
One of the things I'm really enjoying about the swimming lessons is that from the time I walk into the building until the time I leave, I don't think about work or all the things I have to do at home. I simply think about swimming.

I did a bit of relocating today, but not a lot. Miserable weather, so John and I decided to get the art supplies out. I wanted to make a card for my son, whose birthday is next week. I produced this with my acrylic pens and some gold paint. I called it KABOOM! -Another birthday.
I also remembered to take a photo of a canvas I did a while ago.
For dinner we are having Crispy Peking Duck with pancakes. :-)
No Bea pick up today. Feels weird.

Morning, all… from the still cloudy, still damp, but incredibly green Arkansas River Valley,
Just got off the phone with my sis and her best friend, "L" - I was called to ask for YouTube tech support. 😉😸🐈⬛The friend actually worked for me in the oilfield more than 15 years ago now. She helped me get dressed while my sister did my hair when I got married to Corey.
And as L reminded me, she also kept MY best friend, the matron of honor, calm, being most unhappy about the dress she'd had custom-made for the wedding. L's daughter is also married to our nephew, as well, one of the weddings I officiated 20 years ago—fun phone call, lots of "remember when" and laughter.
Debating on what's next for my day—still not able to work outside, maybe tomorrow I can get something done out there. Might slide up to the thrift store. It's wrinklies day, 30% off of everything in the store. And I've been cooped up a lot lately, with all the rain. Cardiologist in the morning on Thursday, might get my hair trimmed while I'm out and about that day.
Kay - So pleased your weight loss is going the way you want it, and glad that your brother's dog will have a much better life with your intervention.
Pip - I'm sorry. I know this is such a hard time for all of you.
Machka - I loved the backstroke best, especially in a very long pool, where I could get a rhythm going, and could worry less about smacking my head—and could breathe easily, as well. I never really learned the sideways turn of the head while swimming on my stomach well, but the breaststroke, where I could swim with my head pointed forward and breathe when my head popped out, was a favorite.
And… on with my day, whatever it may hold. Oh - and the weight I put on after last week's scope is peeling slowly back off… Was at 163 Monday before the test, went up to 167, down to 165 this morning, hopefully at least back to the starting point by June 1…
Love y'all,
