Fitness not weight goals.

Anyone else have goals based on being able to do things instead of weight? I have a tendency to get hung up on the #s on the scale so I made my goals be things I want to do instead of what I want to weigh... Has anyone else tried this? Does it work for you?

I want 6 pack abs again - I miss them so much!
I want to be able to do a pull up -I never have been able to do one.
I want to be able to do a 5k in under 30 minutes. (just under 10 min miles)
I want to do crane pose
I want to be able to reach 2.5 inches past my toes

That's a great idea! I have recently changed my goals because I wasn't losing any weight and I was focusing too much on my scale and getting discouraged.

Then I did a side by side comparison of my 2 month of progress and the difference was amazing.

It looks like I lost 20lbs but it was only 7lbs!

Me! Or, well, I just like working and seeing things get easier and easier for me (and then moving on to new challenges!). I have number goals, too, but I'm already a pretty low body fat percentage so the number goals happen very, very slooooooowly.

I'm planning on surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. I must be strong and fast... and shoot well.

I like that-I think I will join you!

I want to wear my size 8 "little black dress" on our cruise the last week in November.
    I want 6 pack abs-never had em'.
I want my cholesterol levels to be normal again, without meds.
I want the same for my blood pressure.
I want to be able to hold a plank position.
I want to be able to touch my toes.

Mine has changed from weight to other goals:
I want to be able to do 25 pushups (the real ones)
I want to be able to do 10 pull ups.
I want to be able to run a 5k in 30 minutes.
I want to do a V-sit postion without having my body shake while trying to get there.
I want my body fat to be at 20% (Currently at 27% - it's being stubborn)

*** Embarrassed to admit it, but I would love to be able to do a split again....:blushing:

You can come with me. I am assembling a crew.

But I may trade you in exchange for ammo. Just so you know..

I'm in... you won't want to trade someone who can kill zombies (melee and ranged), hunt, forage (tell poisonous from edible), cook, and is good eye candy too.

I still want to lose my last 18 lbs but I also want to be able to do 10 chin ups (I can do 4) I want to do 10 one handed pushups (I don't think I can do any or 1 at most) and I was hoping to reach those goal by the end of this year.

I want to lower my body fat and tone up and hopefully drop 1 more clothing size....even if I weigh more due to muscle.
