Yesterday we made a walkway. These pavers were carried from a pile not too far away.
Sister isn't quite sure what she'll put in between them. She got them free from someone.
Sister had me do some "light weeding". I had my swimming suit top on so I got some sun. Afternoon came and I announced water break. Then went in and promptly took a 2 hour nap. Sun tired! Not used to getting that much sun!
At 6 pm neighbors invited us to share their dinner of nice mixed greens salad, various toppings, and she had made a nice red potatoes, mushrooms and cheese quiche casserole. It was light and I has 2 spoonfuls. I went over my calories but that's life. Breakfast has been a parmesan bagel with butter, some great " Kirkland Coastal rugged aged cheddar". It had crunchy "calcium bits" in it.
Yummy!

Ladies - I see have a lot of catching up to do. I've been in a whirlwind outside the past couple days with pruning, trimming. Still a bit to do. All the vegetation here is simply lush and the Douglas Fir branches over where I mow were drooping a foot lower, I had to trim them back or else get wiped off the mower. The sweet neighbor came over this morning and tossed those branches back across the fence. He's 92, I told him leave them and my landscape guys could load them up. He said "well, they're my trees!" I know better than to argue with him, lol. He's feisty.
Lisa - what does Corey like to read? I haven't been reading much lately, too busy outside I guess. My friend M loaned me her copy of "My Next Breath" by Jeremy Renner. He's an actor who somehow ran over himself with a snowplow, had severe injuries but had what looks to be a miraculous recovery.
Flea - glad the kids are making the trip after all. Something good to remember their senior year by! I'm sure it will be wonderful to have your car back.
Heather - you just reminded me that I used to LOVE rearranging furniture and did it a lot before I got married, when I had the strength and energy back then to shove the sofa, bed and end tables around. DH didn't like things moved and everything has stayed put here for nearly 20 years now. Quite a pattern in the carpeting. 😣 So yes, I think rearranging things gives the room a lift.
Carol - Congrats to Callie! She has put in a lot of work and effort and has made a remarkable recovery after being in a cast. Kids sure heal quickly.
Barbie - I spent part of yesterday going through my various pots and containers yesterday, I'm anxious to get all the tomatoes planted and clean up the mess under the lean-to connected to the shop.
Rita - you must be off on your adventure by now…. have a great time! Is Lucy staying home to babysit DH?
Beth - (((HUGS))) Are you still getting those misfits boxes?
Vicki - thinking of you and hoping new job is going well.
It's already 82F outside and will likely reach 87 by the end of the day. I took Rosie to the groomer this morning so we are staying in the house the rest of the day. Looks like reading is on the agenda.

PIPCD34: I feel sad about saying good bye to Yogi. I know he has enjoyed being a member of your family.
Barbara: 5 sit to stands at every potty break is a great idea. I love the open heart and mind before mouth! When I came home from 2 weeks away….which is very, very rare for me, I was exhausted from focusing on others. I didn't feel well and became reclusive and was very glad to get back to my developing interests!
Debbie: Congrats on getting your garden planted. Hope you are able to get your Mom's garden planted!
MO: I hope there is a break from the headaches. My dog barks at anything going on in the front yard or street.
Grandmallie: Delia is so sweet and growing so quickly. I can't believe you have a new grand daughter and are adjusting to a new transplant. So much happening.
Machka: Sounds like you have a nice wardrobe to me! Do you dry clean at all?
I have never had much strength for the Crawl stroke but am pretty good with the breast stroke. The pool near me started a reservation system and with my husband I really couldn't do that. Apparently if you don't show up they threaten to revoke your privileges. I did swim breast stroke laps one day on this vacation though. So maybe I am ready to deal with the reservation system. I purchased 2 tankini bathing suits. And I love them…but the tops do float up when one swims. So today a belt came from Amazon. I hope to just secure a belt around the tops while I swim. No one is going to pay any attention to a belt while i am swimming.
Heather: I love Kaboom! I love your lifestyle! But then I like Doc Martin and watch streaming television shows about British villages. And there is another show out now where a Professor is taking 1 British town to represent the Vikings, Romans, and Anglo Saxons. And she has one show for the Regency Era. Apparently in the 1800s there was much poverty but also a growing middle class with money to vacation so resorts with a summer season were popular. And apparently during the time of Napolean and his wars more British vacationed in England rather than going to Europe so these resorts were established.
Lisa: I really do need to read up on Arkansas. I didn't think it was that far from GA..but the weather there seems so different. Seems like it is often colder than GA.
Beth: I had a new mattress that almost turned me into an arthritic old lady. We had to replace it and consider it a sunk cost.
RVRita: Lucy is very pretty. Is she potty trained?
Rebecca: What is protein ice coffee?
Barbie: What a lovely purple in the knitted hat!
Kylia: I have a friend who had trouble with cataract surgery and never pursued a second opinion or going to Atlanta..like I would have. Is scar tissue common with cataract surgery? I hope this is resolved for you. What can be done about it?
I did put down soil and planted some grass seed. It may be a little late in the season. I also stopped at ACE and got more soil and hope to do more grass seed planting this evening and tomorrow afternoon. I rather enjoyed it! I hope it grows!
Ace wanted $24.00 for hanging plants. They were beautiful..inviting..but there were Vinca plants for 1.79 each in small containers. So I bought some of these and will make my own hanging plants. I will have to spray them with deer repellant I think.
I started volunteering at a food pantry. I am about to read The Quiet Librarian for a book club, and Theo of Golden which is suppose to be heartwarming. There is a book out Boomerang which is suppose to be a thriller that I will read for July's book group.
My mother finished her 1st week in a nursing home. They have kept her busy with PT, OT and an activity program. She continues to be an avid reader. I call her 2x a day. It is frustrating not being closer to her at this time.
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

😀 Barbara, I love trees—not quite as much as the people who chained themselves to trees to keep them from being logged, but a lot. Just before my first wedding, a redwood tree fell on my parents' house and caused major damage to their roof. Our house in the country 20 years later had lovely trees right outside the bedroom window and provided great privacy but Jake had them cut down because he didn't want them falling on the house. The house we live in now had a giant tree next to the driveway that had to be cut down at great expense to us because its roots were destined to do damage to the driveway and three great trees (evergreen, apple, lilac) in the back that had to be cut down when the heat pump technician said they'd cause damage to the heat pump. A few years later, two trees adjacent to our property were cut down by the park resulting in more sunlight in the backyard and a perfect place for me to plant first zucchini and later pumpkins and sunflowers. Our neighbourhood is called Parkwood and is like a park with lots of trees. From time to time a tree is cut down by management after consultation with a tree professional. It makes me sad, but I understand.
🌲 More about trees—when we moved here I made careful plans to have satellite TV installed at the house the day we moved in so we wouldn't be without TV and internet. When the technician arrived, I told him how glad I was to see him and he said I wouldn't be glad when I found out that the trees were in the way and there was no way to get a satellite signal. We went immediately and had cable installed.
🍅 It's warm today so I transferred the store bought tomato plant from its pot to the raised bed and put up a fancy support system around it. Seven sections of the 22 section fence have been washed.

Rosemarie - Brighton is a Regency seaside town, of the type you described. It was a favourite haunt of George IV, and he built the Royal Pavilion. I love the Regency terraces that still line the seafront. Good architecture makes me very happy. It soothes me.
My new chair has arrived, a day early. It's still in its box in the hallway. I will investigate tomorrow.

UPDATE ON YOGI:
The vet looked at him and she found he had a heart arrhythmia too. She is prescribing a moderate pain reliever because his bump is becoming sensitive to the touch. We will know when it’s time to let him go, especially if he looses his appetite or especially if he has another seizure. Last couple of nights have been good. He is 65.5 pounds so his weight is good.

Pip-Yogi looks like a happy, wet dog in those pictures. He has always seemed to like the water.
It is a hot day here today. The thermostat says the outdoor temp is 90*. I switched the heat pump to cooling and it seems to be doing a good job. This is the first time we have used it to cool since it was installed in Nov. Oh but guess what. Our water heater went out yesterday and we need a new one. This one was put in when the house was built and is 18 yo. I guess I should be glad it lasted as long as it did but getting a new one and bringing everything up to code is going to cost over $6000. I need to win the lottery.
Then the cardiology office called and my doctor is leaving the practice so they have assigned me to a new doc and I will see her for my appointment in Sept.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Rosemarie ~ So glad you had a great trip with your friend. Hoping that your gardening will bloom.
Pip ~ Prayers for you and Yogi.
Hearing about all the the huge trees you on the Pacific Coast have is so interesting. We in Georgia have lots and lots of pine trees. And, an occasional oak, maple, or fruit tree. My father and two brothers were in the pulpwood/logging business for many years and it was very profitable.
I am lactose intolerant but this is what i had a large bowl of today and I love it! Thank the Lord for antacids.
Had a hearing test today and found that my results were about the same as last year. She did clean and tweak the aids and I think the sound was a bit better this evening. In addition to that, I have had a cortisone shot in my lower back to help with the back pain. Have decided to stop the PT exercises as they just seem to make it all worse. Will depend on walking as much as possible. Discovered a new grocery called Lidl which is a lot like Aldi's and enjoyed walking around it and seeing the displays.
I have had a lot of personal stuff going on for the last two weeks. Cried so much that I don't think there are any tears left but think at the moment things are better. Getting an appointment to see a dr around here takes weeks so I have just had to put up with myself and try to get better. Praying that peace will prevail.
Sorry to carry on about my problems,
Carol in GA

Mo - I don’t know if I could do 12 hour night shifts again, I guess if I was used to it maybe.
Heather - I hope the earrings work for you. I was thinking this morning as I was putting earrings in that I miss some of the big 80’s earrings.
I love moving things around I usually do it every 3-4 months. I used to move furniture around but unfortunately I can’t do that here. So disappointing!
As a matter of fact I bought a new stand for under the tv this week. It arrived on Monday, but I’ve had a busy week and probably won’t get it built until Saturday. Maybe Friday morning before my grad.
I’ll be rearranging then.
I also think next pay I’m going to order another shelf like the one I bought after Christmas for the other side of the tv. I may wait and see how I feel for a bit first. I will lose some wall space doing it.Switching phones - I have an iPhone and just had to set the old one beside the new one after switching the SIM card and it was all ready in about 40 minutes, I had to do an update first.Rodger decided to try doing his Samsung last night and was quite frustrated until I asked if he had switched the SIM card. He had it all done in about 10 minutes after that.
I take whichever phone is available with my contract every two years so I don’t have to make decisions at all. I’ve thought about checking other companies but am quite happy with my provider.Barbara - I need to find the discipline to move each day. I’m in a lot of pain again and I know it’s because I sit all day at work.
Machka - when you had the beds together did you notice the gap in the middle at all? DH is all over the bed at night maybe that would keep him sharing lol.
Carol - Congratulations to your granddaughter! She has earned it.
I grew up closer to your type of trees. I so miss the true Canadian Maples out here. My Grandfather and brother did the logging in our family. My brother still does along with his mechanic work. My childhood home was where the trailer is in this photo. The living room window was facing the photographer and the kitchen window and front door was facing the woods.
I’m sorry you’ve had personal stuff to deal with. I hope there is peace soon.
I don’t think you “carry on” at all. We are here to support one another and friends shouldn’t have to apologize for going through a rough spell. Hugs to you.Lisa - you should send some of that rain North. We really need it.
It sounds like you are ready to stand up to the cardiologist, I hope he agrees with you.Beth - I hope the bed gets comfy for you too. It’s amazing the amount of dust that collects. We live in a dusty area though.
Flea - So glad your son is getting the trip, I think that friend circle needs it.
I have become a poor passenger too, but really it depends on who is driving.Barbie - you mentioning Magpie, reminded me of this:
This morning when I made the turn to leave our park an older kitten (not cat size though) was having a stand off with a magpie. they were both about to go at it and I had to drive in the middle of them. They looked back at my car as they walked off to other sides of the street with a disgusted glare at me.😂
We have a lot of trees in our park too. I am always nervous when the wind gets gusty. I think that one that my neighbour and I are worried about is scheduled to be removed this year.Rebecca - those paving stones are pretty. Some pebbles would like nice around them.
Lanette - I truly believe that one of the disservices we do to our seniors is make them stop doing things because we’re afraid they will be injured. I mean I wouldn’t want a 92 year old rebuilding a house but throwing a few branches probably helps him.
Rosemarie - I hope your mom settles in.
It sounds like you are really enjoying your life. I’m happy for you.Allie - happy your brother got a job, that’s a step in the right direction.
Pip - Yogi looks so happy!
Sue - it never stops does it. Sorry you have another major expense.
I have sat and done mostly nothing all evening. I did tidy up a bit as the state would not allow me to relax.
I only did the kitchen and living room. I don’t see the bathroom when I’m trying to relax. 😉I thought about making a shirt to wear for the Oilers game tomorrow night, we are trying to get a huge group photo tomorrow with everyone including residents wearing the gear. I do have a shirt I made last year when I was at the elementary school, it’s just not as bright and loud as what I think they are looking for tomorrow. I decided not to worry about it though. I’ll either wear the one I made or I’ll just wear a plain orange tshirt.
I have caught the attention of our regional director at work, in a good way. I have really caught on to how some staff were being overpaid, in things like too much sick time, OT when it wasn’t earned, etc. and I’ve also fought loudly with head office when I know that a staff member is being underpaid. Anyway, I have been asked to go to another home to train someone on payroll. I would like to one day be an administrator so I think this is a great advantage for me.
We need to order a new garden hose, when Rodger got home from work our hose had split and was spewing water all over the lawn. I dread to think how long that it went like that. I do know it wasn’t when I left for work. So the maximum would be 8 hours. Our poor water bill.
I should get off here, I want to watch a mindless show before going to bed.

Tracey - Well done on impressing the 'higher-ups'. 👏 You have so much talent. Sometimes, believing in ourselves is the hardest thing. And asking for our proper renumeration. Remember, you trained for a year in teaching methods. 🤩
Carol - My every sympathy. Sometimes life just s***s. Can you talk to someone? There were many times in my life when I couldn't have coped without a therapist to offload onto, but a good friend, or even a journal can help. Once, I wrote it all down and burned it afterwards. It helped.
Going to assemble my chair today. And my watch will arrive. I feel naked without something on my wrist. John rarely wears a watch, unless he needs to. On holiday, he used to drive me nuts, asking me what the time was! In the end I refused to answer. 😂 Fortunately, on our cruises now, he has to wear a watch, as a cruise runs like clockwork, with everything to the second. I love it like that!😎😊

Tracey: Well done on catching the attention of the upper echelons at work. You have earned that Graduation, so enjoy every minute of it.
I overslept this morning. Haven’t done that for years. DH decided to let me sleep on. Now he’s doing his in line yoga class, so I’ll have a leisurely breakfast. We have our AGM and monthly meeting after lunch. We are having the same showery weather as you, Heather, so will be staying indoors🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

The chair came with no assembly instructions! I'm sure I can work it out, but I'm unsure where to place the washers. I've spoken to a person at Amazon, and they will get in touch with the company. At the moment, it's just propped on the legs. I hope they will email me some instructions pronto. It looks a bit cheap, but it was! It's only to put clothes on, overnight.

Carol: I hope everything is okay. If you want to meet to go out and have coffee or a meal I will drive up to you. I have been going to Milledgeville and Athens and take the back roads to Atlanta so getting around pretty well. I joined the Modern Widows Club and those meetings will be in Marietta.
I have used Soundermind to find a therapist on line. They have to be GA licensed.
Great that your hearing is about the same!
The back pain is a sorrow and a concern. I wonder what a physiatrist would say vs an ortho vs a chiropractor vs PT. There is also a risk of addiction whenever there are pain issues..so I pray you can find relief and improvement. I wonder what somewhat more wholistic would say?…a masseuse or meditation specialist.
Heather: I so wanted a raised garden bed that I purchased one on Wayfair. It is so much smaller than I expected for the money. And so cheap. More a toy. i have not even put it together. And never got it returned.
Tracey: Congrats! I bet you will be an administrator there someday!
So have I written this?. Over the decades, I have always wanted to go with my mother to have a manicure. She has always declined. She has never stepped foot in a nail salon! So this past week was her first week at the nursing home. I called her up and she was next in line to have her nails done! Apparently the nursing home has a manicurist as part of their program and the ladies there have their nails done. She is 94 today and this past week was her first professional manicure!
She has begun to eat in the dining room. We agreed she should try and keep her routine going even if other ladies are not up to it. So for her birthday I had Door Dash go into the CVS and pick up 4 lipsticks and deliver them to her. LOL..This was less than flowers!! I had flowers sent last week…tulips…that was almost a major purchase!
Last week when she first arrived, she clearly needed something to distract her. So I had Door Dash go into Target and pick up an adult coloring book and coloring pens. This worked very well. And she used them! Of course I can't keep this up.
My plan today is to plant more grass, cut some of the lawn, do a zumba class and swim 30 minutes. And walk the dog. I tell myself, "I am a person that walks her dog" and this motivates me!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

You should have seen how much dust came out of the old box springs! Oh my. While the delivery guys were working at the speed of light, I did get a quick vacuum before the new foundation was placed. We have never allowed the dogs in our bedroom (my allergies), I vacuum regularly and the dust was still disgusting. Of course, the bathroom project contributed with drywall dust, but still. We have wall to wall carpet and I'm rethinking that for the future.
I am so glad we got the engineered hardwood floor in our new house!! Yes, there's dust … but it is clearly visible. We got a battery "dust buster" -like piece of equipment so we can touch up this area and that area.
Happily, I have noticed that I rarely sneeze anymore! In our previous place (with wall-to-wall carpeting), I sneezed frequently - several times each evening. I have also noticed that I don't clog up at night and don't end up coughing in the middle of the night as often.
Clean air is good!
That said, since I started cleaning out the garage yesterday, I have been sneezing a bit.
Trees - our eucalypts like to drop branches (or the whole tree) from time to time. Also, areas that have a number of trees have a greater potential of being destroyed in bushfires. My husband has been in 2 bushfires. So when we have selected places to rent and now a place to buy, there are no tall trees around and no nearby forests.
I think living among tall trees would bother me. I like trees of all sorts … I like to hike among them. But not keen on living among them.
@Rosemarie2972 … I have some blazers which I have had dry cleaned, but I don't wear them very often so I don't get them dry cleaned very often.
Most of my clothes are wash, hang dry, and wear.
I bought a new one-piece bathing suit last August, before going to Canada. At that time, it fit … just. It took a little doing to get into it. Now, I slide right in and it's slightly loose.
This one, but in size 20 Australian (= size 16 USA).
Plus I bought this one just before I started swimming lessons in a large size 16 Australian which, in this case, is about a size 14 USA.
I like the one piece style because I feel more secure.
@Snowflake1968 … no, we didn't notice the gap. The boxes were held tightly together by the little pieces of metal and the mattresses stayed close together because of the fitted mattress protector and fitted king-sized sheet. It might not have been entirely smooth, but it didn't bother us at all and it didn't come apart.
Pretty spot to grow up in!
Well done at work. I'm glad you're getting these opportunities.
@cityjaneLondon … could you Google the chair for the instructions? That's what we do when we're putting things together.

😀 Tracey, congrats on being noticed and appreciated at your work. About hoses—-I put hoses on my gratitude list this morning after all the watering I did yesterday. Our hoses are stainless steel and very long. They are sturdy and easy to coil up again after use.
❤️ Carol, please use us a shoulder to cry on. There are enough of us that there will be several who will understand what you're going through and offer good responses and encouragement.
😀 Rosemarie, I never thought of Door Dash as a way to have goodies delivered to a loved one far away. I'm wondering now if that's what my daughter did to have the bouquet of flowers delivered on Mothers Day.
😀 Allie, I'm glad that your brother got a job.
😀 Heather, I took off my watch the day I retired from my job. At the time, I carried a pedometer to tell me the time and now I have a pedometer and a phone with me at all times so I don't need a watch. I understand wanting to know the time.
😀 Machka, my parents had beds like yours-twins pushed together. They were married in the days when married couples slept in twin beds. There's a story my mother told about someone's children seeing their twin bed bedroom and asking "Don't the mommy and daddy like each other?"
😪 Pip, reading about Yogi brings back sad memories for me. We experienced that so I know how hard this time is for you. I know you'll make the most of your time together.
😀 In addition to the tall evergreen trees, we also have a maple in the front yard. It turns a beautiful color in the fall and drops a lot of leaves that I can use as mulch on the raised beds to discourage weeds.
😀 It was unusually warm for us yesterday, then drizzled overnight and temps are expected to be much lower which is great because I have to leave Annie in the car for an 11 AM appointment with the eye doctor.

Mo - thanks for the article about beetroot. I love to boil small red beets, chunk them up and add them to salads. No "pickled" so no sugar.
Carol - so very sorry you are going through a rough patch right now. I hope the shot in your back is helping, this back pain can eat at us in ways we don't realize. I went ahead and scheduled a shot for my back too, all of this toting heavy stuff around outside has set me back.
Rosemarie - what a nice idea having things delivered to your mom like that. Glad to hear she's eating and seems to be getting along well. Also, it was fun reading about your recent getaway. Have fun walking your pup.
Tracey - wonderful that you'll be adding "trainer" to your resume. They knew they had a gem when they hired you. And again, congrats on finishing and doing so well on your course and the well-deserved graduation ceremony.
Pip - glad the vet was able to see Yogi, looks like you'll have a bit more quality time with him. Our Schnoodle Sophie had "stress seizures" the last year or two of her life. Going to the vet or groomer triggered them, but she'd recover and do fine as long as I was right beside her with a hand on her, talking to her.
Heather - is there anything on YouTube that shows how that chair (or a similar one) is assembled?
Sue - $6,000 seems exorbitant for a water heater but I guess that's normal these days. Ouch! We had a new heat pump and water heater installed in 2022 for $10,500. Everything was still working but we figured these things were well beyond their useful life and had budgeted this in.
Barbie - wow, your area sure is heavily treed. It was a good to have that huge fir taken down - I bet this cut the amount on the branches and needles on the roof too. I have a huge maple on the west side of the house which really helps keep the house cool, and gives me plenty of leaves for mulching. I think maples and oaks are deeply rooted so they don't blow over as easily as fir does around here.
I too took off my watch when I retired. And I rely on my laptop to tell me what day of the week it is, lol.
My landscaping guys are coming out tomorrow morning to take down a dead pine back by the powerline. They can use the firewood and will clean up the branches and twigs so I can mow back there. They'll also bring the pole pruner and thin out the tops of those apple trees by the chicken run.

Machka: I love your bathing suits! Very pretty! Spending less on dry cleaning is a goal of mine and i am paying more attention to how I shop and finding items that will wash/dry/hang before I purchase. I love jeans and many people here wear them all year round. But I can't. I switch to cotton or a cotton/blend in the summer and either iron or dry clean more!
Barbie: If your daughter used Door Dash to deliver you flowers, she is very smart indeed. Because I believe I could send Door Dash into any supermarket and obtain nice flowers and have them delivered for a total of under 50 dollars. I used a flower shop to have tulips delivered to my Mom. These were the least expensive flowers this shop had. I spent a total over $100.00.
Live and Learn. The delivery fee and service fee around MA where my Mom is comes to around 11.00. And then I have been tipping 10 dollars…because they are getting out of the car and going into a store. But I don't even know…is it the driver who is finding the ordered items or someone in the store?
Best,

Carol, dear, many hugs - no apologies necessary, I think we all bring our troubles here at one level or another. Whatever level you feel sharing, it's genuinely OK.
Tracey - So pleased that the higher ups are seeing your talents and recognizing them. I think you're fully capable of running the whole place, and you've made a good start. As Heather says, you spent a a lot of time learning how to teach, watching good teachers and bad, and you know what it takes to get your training across. Sorry about the hose… change of seasons always seem to bring out how things deteriorate over time.
Off to the cardiologist…
Love y'all,
Lisa in ARPS - Stepped outside to take a picture - these are both in my backyard. Well over a hundred feet high, but they've been here for probably 50 to 60 years or more, and can live another hundred or so. Far enough away from the house not to menace the foundations.
I seldom capture these in photos, as at eye level, there are just their massive trunks…

Watches ... I removed mine in October 1997 and have rarely used one since.
At first, I used creative ways to tell what time it was when I was out and about. But in 2016 I got my first mobile phone.
There are enough time keeping devices all around us to ensure that we arrive at appointments on time, don't miss the bus, and know when to arrive at and leave work.
For the most part, I much prefer the day to pass without looking at the time ... just letting the day happen.

I opened a new Easy Access Savings Account with Saga, to take the money I'm saving for the cruises. That went fine, but my current account still uses a card reader for new payees. 😰 I have an ancient card reader in a drawer, but have used it only once. I usually do a workaround with the joint account to pay new people. Couldn't do this because I had registered my personal account. So ....... I found the reader. Of course, battery had run out. Couldn't open the battery box at first, but finally figured it out. Two lithium batteries. I had some! Had trouble getting them the right way round, but managed it. Then things proceeded OK, but I could only transfer half the amount today, because of bank limits. Let's hope things go more smoothly tomorrow, when I do it all again! I'll have to take nearly all of it out next January, but I suppose it's worth it. 🤨
Oouuff !

😀 Rosemarie, My flowers were a bouquet like you'd find in a grocery store. Also my son said that his sister said that she told the delivery person that she'd add a big tip if she'd take a photo of me with the flowers, so it sounds like probably Door Dash or something similar.
😀 Lisa, that is a great tree and you took excellent photos of it.
😀 Heather, it's amazing how a simple transaction can turn into such a pageant of chores.
😀 Sue, when we did some remodeling in our kitchen, it resulted in a crisis with the water heater because the closet where it was housed was moldy and deteriorating. The whole job was so expensive but I have no idea how much it cost just for the water heater and it's closet. There's always something with a house, especially an older one.

Heather: I really don't understand much about your last post! I have never owned a card reader. I don't think I know anybody that does. I know when my DH first passed I did grief counseling with a lady near London. She wanted me to do a Bank to Bank transfer which she said was common in Britian. I know it must be done in the USA but I had never done one so went in a different direction.
And my mother has an Amazon tablet with my credit card attached. I was not too crazy about her having this at the nursing home. So I have a pre-paid card that just came in the mail. I will have this attached to her tablet with just a small amount of funds on the card. Interestingly I need to go by a retail store..Dollar General..to add this money to the card. All on my to do list!
Best,

Carol – congrats to your granddaughter. They built a Lidl but it’s a ways away. But I do like going there. HUGS
Rainy and chilly here. The gal who had the surgery last week texted me that her hubby wants to stay home today so looks like I’ll be bowling. Not that I was really looking forward to it. I had plans to make some spinach feta pie. As a matter of fact, I had the spinach defrosted. Well, if I was in this situation, I would want someone to do this for me, so I’ll do it. Hope everything’s OK. Wonder why he wants to stay home?
Flea – glad the kids are going on their trip. I’m sure this is one that they’ll never forget
pip – Yogi looks like such a happy dog. I know you’ll know when it’s time. Hugs and more Hugs. One of our cats had a seizure disorder and we gave him phenobarbitol. Perhaps this is something you can mention to your vet to prevent any future seizures.
Rebecca – I agree that pebbles would look nice around the pavers. However, if you do that, be sure to put down landscape fabric first otherwise over time the pebbles will sink into the ground.
Rosemarie – you are doing so good, I’m impressed. I’m sure your mother really appreciated the lipstick much more than flowers would have. Flowers die but she’ll use the lipstick (and think of you) for a long time
M – I have a chlorine resistant bathing suit. Yes, it was a bit more expensive initially. But the last one I had I paid something like $70 for and it lasted me 10 years before the elastic around the legs started to give out. So$7 a year for a bathing suit works for me. Yes, the lining totally disintegrated (I had to hand sew the pads in) but I could use it.
Did HIIT today and then went on the rowing machine. I’ve been trying to increase the time I’m on the rowing machine. First it was 5 minutes, then 10, then 15,then 20, then 23, today was 25. Goal is 30 minutes. Usually I do some work in the water but I suspect there’s a new instructor who likes for people to go back and forth, not to the shallow end so I wind up having to be sure I don’t get in other people’s way. If she’s the new instructor, I may skip going in the water.
Going to walk to Food Lion. Have a rain check and need to get Vince bananas (that I’ll get for free)

I haven't been getting enough water, but trying. Two nights in a row has been us getting invited to the neighbors for dinner. First night was salad and quiche, and last night was salad, brautdogs, great potato chips (which I passed on) and then dessert. Another one is their couple friends were invited so she brought a pretty brownie that had been baked in a decorative mold. The neighbor brought out ice cream, toppings etc. My sister and I cut a serving of the brownie in half and a scoop of ice cream. I did not listen to my satiation at all. I could have been happy with half a brautdog, but its only one night.
This morning feeling tight, still full but ate 1/2 a tortilla with some of the cheese crumbles of the cheese that's my new favorite. Its called Kirkland Coastal rugged aged cheddar. Its got naturally occurring crunchy calcium bits (salt?). Anyway melts yummy! I put a piece of turkey in there and rolled it up.
Lunch might be some grapes, cherry tomatoes, and the other half of tortilla with a spoonful of taco meat and a romaine leaf, and a pinch of Mexican shredded cheese to melt and stick the taco meat to.
Not sure about dinner. Today is dose day and the last two times I was not hungry for dinner.

It can take the place of your morning coffee, especially on warm days, because its an iced coffee. The 20 grams of protein, 120 calories plus only 1 gram of sugar is nice too!
