Hi! I’m looking for support on my new goal which is to NOT snack between meals. I’m finding it really hard!!! I just want to eat.

Hi Kerstin… Just wanted to share my perspective. Weight loss is a new venture for me & I'm loving it.

A bio-blurb: I currently have 25-lbs to lose, after an incident 3-1/2 yrs ago where 14 bones were broken… the long recovery meant no exercise at all, no walking. Now that I'm newly out of pain, I'm looking at food in a new way.

My goal: To lose 25-lbs as fast as possible without sacrificing health & stamina. Nothing extreme, like zero carbs, just steady improvement.

Am I hungry at times? Yes. Is it manageable? Yes. I have my goal front & center & am focusing on that. Do I skip my 11pm salad/fruit/toast in order to stay within my cal/day allotment? Yes. Why? The app stated that I would lose 10-lbs in 5-wks if I stick to the calories it calculated. Only 5-wks is my motivation. Nothing will get in my way of success because it's not a wish or desire or thought… it's my no-turning-back goal & I don't want this to drag on for 9-12-18 mos. I just endured broken bones for 3-1/2 yrs… enough already, bring on change.

When hungry & having reached my daily calorie limit, instead of eating extra calories, I drink water or if early enough, have an espresso or black tea. Two to three 5-wk jaunts & I'll have achieved my goal. If you absolutely need to eat, you could eat plain lettuce or celery, both having few calories.

To make it easier on myself, I choose to see this as an exciting project.

Our obstacle is always us. I want to lose & will deal with momentary discomfort of a hunger pang that can be satiated with water for 10-15 wks. Decide & just do it so you can move onto the next goal. Maybe a new fitness goal rather than concentrating on food & calories.

    Best of luck. Be well…
