Everydays run is so different. Monday’s was a slog and yesterday’s was great🤷🏻‍♀️ So what will today bring.

Some great photos. I love the bear photos @WarmJellyfish when I see them (on tv) I always wonder how or if they get enough food.

Ran better yesterday feel like I am turning a corner with this unjury where I am not thinking about it all the time! yall know what I mean. Using my pace as sort of an indicator. But BOY has my cardio fitness in just 3 plus weeks gone down. And it's not tech telling me I can feel it. 30 miles for the month Woohoo.

still scared of bears and foreign food. And wtf did they do to MFP yesterday on the food diary? seriously dudes. 100% of the users are in turmoil. Perhaps like the newsfeed they will say - we did a survey and no one uses it?

@Mari33a Canadians are sinewy so perhaps a couple, but an American usually will get a bear through the whole winter. :)

    🤣

@SummerSkier In the great scrambles to find alternatives to the Newsfeed users explored a bunch of the alternatives. For me the MFP food diary is the most significant part.

I tried an alternative food diary app "MacroFactor" and it works for me. It's such a better fit, that that app has been a part of me recommitting to daily logging. For me daily logging is critical to address my excess weight, so I'm very appreciative to have found MacroFactor and glad it's helped me recommit to daily logging. If you are looking to improve on your food diary, I'd encourage giving MacroFactor a try.

Well, tried another threshold run yesterday until it felt like my lungs was going to blow up but STILL cannot get my HR up to the range. Part of it is probably the lung fibrosis and hyperinflation. So its still 0 for 0 score. When I try, I cannot get it up, when I don't try, like on a hike, its hitting the moon. Think I'm going to do this next one with a chest strap. Could be the wrist sensor being stubborn too.

@Mari33a for such a large animal, they go for lots and lots and lots of berries, grubs , any other food they can get their hands on. I once saw a grizzly dig a hole the size of a small car just to get at some marmots. If you ever see them tackling a berry bush, they are like a vacuum….

@SummerSkier But you did boyfried pace! Love foreign food! Well mostly, the haggis I've tried was really meh. They need an asian cook to really season that better, some 5 spice, soya sauce….thats why I'm here on MFP counting calories 😂. Yeah they so changed the UI, even for the desktop grrrr 👿

    @chris_in_cal 😄

@yirara hang in there, it will come. My rib is also still not 100%.

@kgirlhart the first time I saw a muskrat, I thought it was a baby beaver until I saw the tail when it dived.

All the weather apps were announcing the heat warnings had been lifted for my area, so decided to eat a later breakfast & run in the afternoon as the clouds were supposed to move on.
It was still feeling close to 36⁰C during my run….

yes definitely agree about the runner's high. And for me getting out first thing and watching the day start seems to change my whole life approach. I did get 2 good 5Ks in a row but I am going to take today off as my foot is achy today so as will all injuries and running and life progress is not linear with ups and downs. But those 5K s were SO nice mentally

Glad you got your AC fixed John! And yes MaryMary the colder temps seem to make for faster times and lower HRs for me also.

As far as the food diary here for now it is back to normal apparently but it is probably going to change and we will get used to it. ˆam too lazy to find another app and start over from there as all my years of data are here. at day 2951 I would like to hit 3k day streak.

@Mari33a I never know what the day will bring and it's hard to figure out what causes a slog vs a great run. I just know if I keep going those great days are there and they are worth every slog!

I just found a ten-week beginner weekly hill training running group here with the San Diego Track Club. Nahhhh, that sound very fun, very cool, very social, and very hard. (Maybe)

    SDTC Metro Workout
    JUL 1
6:00 PM Tuesday, Meet Up Spot Sixth Ave & Olive St
    Beginner / Trail

1 of 10 weeks of hill training! ⛰️📈

    4-5 Powder/Zigzag repeats!

I’m not sure if I’ll get a run today. It’s incredibly stormy out. I was woken by the sound of a tree falling down - it doesn’t look like it’s one of ours from what I can see out the window, but it’s too wild out there to venture out and look properly.

I will go to Pilates and if the wind miraculously dies down, I will try for my post Pilates trot, but otherwise I’ll be staying inside.

PS. I’ve just been onto Strava and only one of the local runners I follow has ventured forth this morning (and I follow more than a few hardy souls) and he says “it was like running through a petrol station car wash machine”.

Glad the foot is getting better @SummerSkier . I think giving it some extra rest is a good idea.

Sounds scary @ContraryMaryMary I would stay inside too.

@John772016 My diary hasn't changed yet either.

Today was another nice 6 mile run. It was warm, but there was enough breeze that it was pretty pleasant for June.

well I hate rest days but a necessary evil sometimes I guess… The diary changed for about 18 hrs and then changed back due to some bugs I guess. It is supposed to be a permanent change tho and it is NOT good. But like everything as long as they don't do away with the web interface I will keep going. I would not like it if they just go to AP for everything ….

Staying in sounds like a smart move MaryMary!!! Hope you don't lose too many trees. wow!
