I am new to this forum but not new to logging my food intake into myfitnesspal.

I am 46 years old and need to lose 40-50lbs. I am going through perimenopause and everything I am reading states that I will put on weight, I want to prove them wrong!!

My downfall is sweets. If I never eat another piece of chocolate again (cookies, cakes, brownies) etc... I will drop this weight but then deprivation sets in so I chose a healthier alternative, dark chocolate (I am able to control myself with this).

Anyway, I want to do this faithfully once and for all. I work in an office full of sweets. When I don't have my dark chocolate, I want to be able to control myself. It's like a little demon on my shoulder and an angel on the other... of course the demon won last night but I didn't "indulge" at least not in my description of indulgence.

Anyone else have problems with sweets??

    good luck to you. I used to love my sweets as well, but I went without them, and now I don't even like them anymore :)

    i have an unhealthy addiction to gummy bears!!


    i can say proudly that I have been gummy bear free for two months its not easy and i think about em all the time... right now in fact HAHAHA

    just hang in there!!
  • my weak spot is cake, I really love cake and I have not had any for over 2 weeks. Everytime I see cake I just repeat my matra of "no no no" over and over again. As time passes it gets easier to avoid I think.

    I know you can do it! You may be crazy through out the entire journey, and I may have to deal with your craziness, but you can do it for sure! Tell all the girls at the office to knock it off and eat better, too!

    I am not doing very well with my calorie counting and I keep sabotaging myself daily. I am a stress eater ( sweets)and I feel like a failure. I dream about stepping on the scale and it reading 200lbs, which I'm heading toward if I keep this up.

    I want to begin some kind of challenge, make friends on here and get support and give support. Which forum would that be best for?
