Non satellite IPhone Running apps

Hi folks,
I have a friend in Australia who is doing a 5k soon, her first. She has found the Runkeeper app unreliable due to poor satellite reception/cover. Any one know of an app that you can download to her IPhone that runs without a satellite link? Or even a timer?
Thanks a lot!

Yup, Runkeeper isn't always reliable in my area (Western Australia) but none of the others are that great either.
I use Runkeeper anyway, because it tracks time accurately even if the GPS coverage drops out. If this happens I map my run on the computer later and add the timing in so it is still in Runkeeper for my records.
She could try the 5K run coach by Running Method, that has a timer and GPS, but the GPS didn't work on that one at all.
I've also tried MapmyRun but found that the app was very crashy.
In spite of the bugs, I still recommend Runkeeper.
Or if she only wants a timer, she could just use the stopwatch in the clock on the iPhone.0 -
You can try the All In Pedometer for the iphone.0

Try dailymile0
