Hiya.
I was just wondering if anyone has this and how you are managing with losing weight.
I have this and I am finding it hard actually shifting my weight.
Any tips anyone?

hi jayne you are not alone it is very difficult im here since april and have only lost 7 lbs it is very slow. I find that i have to keep moving good luck and dont give up:flowerforyou:0

I find this to be a huge problem for me. But I hear hysterectomies make weight loss even harder, so I am pushing through. I have had to cut out dairy and wheat products (not gluten) to try and keep the symptoms a little less. Of course, in doing that, I am not eating cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. BUT....still not losing right now for some reason. Sorry I can't offer better advice. I would be interested to hear any suggestions. But you are definitely not alone.0

Yes I certainly feel your pain. I've been struggling for a long time, half because of POCS and half because I am an emotional eater. Being told you're not going to be able to have kids can do that to a person :P
Yes, my doctor and nutritionist said it is hard to lose the weight with POCS, but it is possible it will just take longer than everyone else. However, the benefits for people with POCS are far better than those just doing it for cosmetic reasons, we will be more likely to be fertile and dramatically reduce our high risk of diabetes! So essentially, yes. It's hard. But it will be worth it.0 -
I have found it a struggle but with a good diet and now that incorperating exercise into my daily routine, I'm finding I'm losing 1-2lb each week.
I know with PCOS its easier to put the weight on, than lose it. You've just got to keep at it.
I found lowering my sugar intake helped and also seeked diet advice from my GP - they can point you in the right direction.0 -
I find that just plain good eating doesn't work for me. It's cutting out carbohydrates that helps me lose the stubborn weight. I even look at a loaf of bread and put on five kilos.0

hello i too have pcos and weight loss is tough but so far ive managed 27 pounds in just 11 weeks some weeks i dont lose any at all then lose two or three , im not cutting too much out though i still eat bread but a very low cal and fat one i still eat cheese but a half fat cheese and only once or twice a week and a small portion not a chunk lol. my periods are more regular now then ever before but i still cannot concieve, i have the issues with hair but im not sure that will change even when ive lost the weight. keep at it hun try and exercise everyday i think thats the key. good luck0

I was just diagnosed with PCOS last week, and it was a little devestating.
But it does make sense as to why ive gained 60lbs in two years. I just started my calorie counting today and hope it makes a difference.
