Just curious as to how many calories people are eating that are making them lose weight..
What's your weight, height, age, and calorie intake??
I have calculated my BMR dozens of times but I'm just not sure if I'm eating the right amount.
Im 164, 5'7 and 22. I started MFP eating 1200.. lost 13 lbs n the weightloss stopped.. I was told to increase so I am now eating 1400 but no change...
just curious as to what everyone else is doing.
Thanks!

I find that a cheat day followed by a light day often helps get over the plateus.0

yep I have yet (knock on wood) to have a week without any loss. I have a feeling that once I get to 160 or in that ball park I`m going to have to switch my goal from the 1pound per week to .5 per week and that will up my cals again but so far each time I`ve changed goals its worked for me.0 -
156, 5'3.5", 24 years old, I eat around 1700 cals to net about 1200. I had a rough patch, but have been losing consistently since.0

24, 214, 5'8 Anywhere from 1350-1700. I cycle because otherwise I hit plateaus faster. Three low days, medium day and a high day0

162 cms tall, 154 lbs weight. I am a zigzag eater. I eat a lot, like 1800 calories on average. My diary is open to view. I am not sure if I am losing weight. I will have to wait and see. The thing is that I used to eat 3000 calories a day, so the decrease is huge for me. I try to make up by exercising a lot. It had always been hard for me to lose weight but on the other hand I didn't go over 158 lbs on 3000 calories ever. My set point is very set right at this weight.0

MFP calculates me to eat 1200 daily to loose 2 lbs per week. I exercise a lot. 6 days per week, burning around 700 clories daily on cardion, I also lift weights 3 times per week. So, I eat most of my exercise calories back, or I stop loosing. I aim for around 1700 daily. You might need to change up your work outs keep your body guessing!
Good Luck!0 -

Started off at 1200 didn't lose so I went to 1400 because people said if you don't have much to lose you should change your settings to .05 or 1 lb per week to get more calories. So I lost 3 lbs at 1400 and now I have been stuck for awhile and am unhappy. I exercise and sometimes I eat back my exercise calories and sometimes I don't, sometimes I eat half. I have not been able to find out what work for my body yet. GW 1400 -

For me, I tried to up my cals and make my goal .5 - 1 lb per week because I'm reasonably close to my goal, but I plateaued and would lose .5 gain .5 for like a month. At the lower cals I lose over 1 lb a week normally, which is prob more than I should, but I seem to either lose a relatively large amt or lose nothing0 -

1200 calories per day, usually don't eat back my exercise cals.0 -
Age: 26
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 188
Calories: Usually eat between 1900-2400, burn 250-600 depending on the day (strength training I eat 2200-2400), and I am only eating exercise calories if my net ends up being less than 1750 (this is the lowest I should really be going). Yep, I'm a woman and I eat a ****load. I also lift heavy weights.
Really, my suggestion is stop being afraid to eat. Keep increasing your calories and see what happens. A wonderful MFP friend gave me some great advice: If you're not losing anything now, what's the harm in increasing your calories? You might gain a pound, but at least something is happening, and you'll have a starting point to scale back your calories from.0 -

did you hit a plateau?0 -
Not losing weight at the moment (see tickers for why) but...
From July 5th through August 25th (started a new exercise regime and have tons of data):
Lost:
3.2 total pounds
5.29 lbs body fat
2.85 % body fat
Average calories eaten (I use a spreadsheet): 1896 per day
5' 3.75"
CW - 154.4 lbs
36 yo
On maintenance at the moment, set for 1860 +exercise calories (but I have to admit, I've been slacking a bit on the exercise due to extreme tiredness).0 -
I am 43 years old, weigh 198, 5'4" and MFP has me set at 1450. Sometimes I eat back my exercise calories, sometimes half, sometimes not at all. I only use them if I'm really hungry and needing that extra bit. I also just started zig zagging my calories this week using the calculator on freediet.com. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure it's just a fluke, but I've lost 1.5 lbs. since Saturday. My brother-in-law thinks it was because my body needed the extra calories that we had over the weekend (football, birthday party, etc.)0
