Hi, Stacy! You've made the first step....that's great!

I learned a long time ago that dieting is not the way. Its changes in eating styles. Everything in moderation. It's not so much WHAT we eat as it is how MUCH of it we eat and how often. I am diabetic and I will still eat a chocolate bar, some potato chips on occasion...even ice cream. But in small amounts that fit in with my daily plan.

You need to write out a plan for yourself. Use the diary here as a guide. Don't starve yourself. You may lose some weight, but you will put it right back on. Since this should be a change in eating that is forever, its not a race no matter how impatient you might be. I weighed 190 pounds when I came here a year ago last September. So far, I have lost 28 pounds. I have 12 more to go. I figure early next year I will reach my goal and I know I won't gain it back now that I am eating more sensibly. But even now, I feel better, my clothes are looser or just plain too big. I am also diabetic and I no longer take insulin!

You can and will do this. Get started creating your plan. And don't beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon once in awhile....we all do, but we get right back up into the seat and retake control.

There are lots of supportive groups here. In the Challenges group, today is the first day of our next quarterly challenge, but you can join in anytime...lots of people do. I am not here to promote any group. But if you are interested, here is the name of the group. Good luck!
