    Some people snore only on their backs, so side sleeping can help.

    Sleeping at an incline can help. Simply using multiple pillows is a start, but can cause the neck to bend oddly if only the head is elevated. Instead, look for a triangle-shaped wedge pillow which helps incline the entire upper body so the neck stays straight compared to the shoulders.

    Nasal strips which expand the nostrils (such as those used by professional athletes) can help, especially during times where the nose is stuffed up.

    You can find a chin strap which helps hold the jaw in place and mouth closed at night, instead of drooping open.

    There are some products advertised to buy which promise to cut down on snoring, which may or may not help you specifically. For instance, I got one which you insert into your mouth and includes a cross bar that's supposed to flatten the tongue and prevent it from clogging the airway. But all it did for me was cause me to gag, so while it may help some, it did not help me.

    Have you spoken with your doctor? If snoring is a symptom of sleep apnea - as it can be (was for me) - sleep apnea increases risks of things like heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, high blood pressure and even mental health or cognitive problems such as dementia. There are various treatments for sleep apnea, and treating it will reduce or eliminate the snoring in addition to reducing those health risks.

    Noss has given good advice about reducing snoring if it's not apnea, but if it is apnea, I'd strongly advise getting it diagnosed and dealing with that underlying cause rather than trying to eliminate the symptoms.

    Losing a lot of weight resolved both egregious snoring and sleep apnea for me

    Get Healthy. Loose some weight, include cardio which increses ur hear rate and breathing capacity(swimming). If u r consistent, u will see results in 5 to 6months.

    Learn to play the didgeridoo! There are studies that have been done on how it helps sleep apnea. Obviously, you're here on MFP to lose weight, so do that, too. Just giving a fun option! 😁

    My husband wears a mouth guard that has made a HUGE difference! (He bought it over the counter. And then bought an ultrasonic cleaner to keep it clean.)

    My dad had issues with snoring, and one thing that helped him was avoiding heavy meals or alcohol right before bed.Also, using a simple nasal strip at night kept his airways more open. Not a magic fix, but it made the nights quieter.But this is not a Perfect, but little bit better.

    Vet visit to rule out respiratory issues, and continuing adoration.

    My last cat, very elderly, snored. For a long time, it was just the sweetest little musical notes, like she was intermittently humming. I miss her.

    I get that it could be loud enough in some cats to be irritating. In those cases, I think the answer is noise-cancelling earbuds or earplugs . . . not for the cat.

    musical doesn’t describe this one. More like “loud and persistent”. But he is a mutual adoration society, and happy to lavish love on anyone who has the time for him.

    My favorite thing about him is he insists on being let out onto the screen porch in the morning, where he sings to greet the day. It’s a very endearing habit, and just makes my early morning so happy.
