Weight fluctuating

I started my journey again like 1 month ago and i noticed the first week i dropped like 2 - 3 pounds and the next 2 weeks i saw a stall on staying that same weight and then last week i dropped down another 2 pounds but the scale went up again for 2 pounds and its staying that way. I am very confused on if i am even losing weight anymore. For example i started at 272 and weighted 268 the next weight in time and then it stayed at 268 for a week or 2 and then i went down to 266 and now the scale keeps showing 268 all over again. It has been almost a month since my journey, on the 30th of this month I will make a whole month. I am 25 and 5’6 but at such a high weight i would expect to drop way quicker.

Try taking the batteries out of your scale before you weigh the next time. My old scale had a memory function and would repeat the last measurement if it was close. "Oh hi! You again? Here's your weight from last time!"
I bought a new scale for like $20 at Walmart and it does not seem to do that but had to constantly remove the batteries from my old one to get correct readings.

Hey, first off, you’re doing great for just a month in! That first drop you saw is totally normal, usually a mix of fat and water. After that, your body takes a bit of time to adjust, which is why you see the “stall” or even the little bounce back on the scale. It doesn’t mean you’re not losing, it just means your weight is doing its usual up-and-down thing.
What really matters is the overall trend, and you’ve already gone from 272 to 266. That’s progress! Fluctuations of a couple pounds are usually just water, salt, hormones, or even how much food is still in your system. They don’t cancel out the fat you’re losing underneath.
Also, one month is still early.. real, steady weight loss happens over months, not days. If you stick with your habits (eating in a calorie deficit, getting some movement in, staying consistent), the scale will move down over time.Think of it like investing… it’s the long-term consistency that pays off.
Keep going, don’t let the day-to-day numbers discourage you, and celebrate that you’ve already dropped weight in your first month. You’re on the right track! Don't Stress…Everything will be fine soon..

Congratulations on your first month! It takes some practice and determination to use MyFitnessPal to control weight. Keep at it— it has worked for me.
To start, get a good set of measuring cups and a food scale. Get all the tempting foods out of the house. Cook or be involved in cooking your own meals. Restaurants and food delivery are honey traps. Anything in a package should be avoided as much as possible. Fresh whole foods are the bomb!
I get a kick out of this fellow working hard to reduce his weight, starting at 600lbs. He just has such a danged good attitude about it, even though he's had up weeks as well as down weeks. Maybe you'll find some inspiration from him, as I have.

Patience and consistency! You're doing great! One month is barely enough time for your body to register that you are making changes. As mentioned earlier, if your scale is working properly, then just keep doing what you're doing and give it more time.
Our expectations are always high, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You may have slow (or non-existent) movement on the scale, but don't get discouraged and give up.

It’s important to understand that our bodies are full of stuff that has weight. Weight that fluctuates. We have water in our bodies and the amt / weight of that was changes from hour to hour and day to day. Same goes for waste in our system, food left in our bellies. So many things inside our body have weight — and weight that varies. That means that when you gain a pound or two, it doesn’t necessarily mean you gained fat. Same goes when we lose. Watch for a downward trend over time and worry less about each individual weigh in.
