Yep, I was sent home with a laxative that husband said was mostly iodine! I mixed it with a lemonade concoction but it was still really awful. Did the trick though, and within that night I had relief. Also probably helped that I had a dose of Morphine, and two doses of Hydrocodone. 🙃🙄😳

Welp up a lb, but that's because I am eating fairly well, life, I have a wee cold, it could be anything. My route to where I wish to be is quite walkabout! Its an evening constitutional walk, and I shall be meandering sort of journey mindset. And that suits me just fine. My clothes fit well, heck even my drawers fit better! Time to balance the checkbook and pay bills. I fear I will be putting in an entry, "fee to balance what the bank says". Husband has been doing the books and he's not quite the stickler I am!
Happy Days to you all!💖💐🎶🎵

We have seen this contest in the past…These were a couple of my favorite from the State Fair. Just Fun!

Hi, my friends,
Rebecca, sometimes the weight gain is due to the accumulation of stool in the bowel. Morphine can be quite constipating. The Crud is here. Usually, we don't get all the respiratory illnesses until after our fair in October. Yet our unit is complete due to upper respiratory issues. I am now using my inhaler again. Yet one doctor told me that I was in remission. My fatherly doctor told me to be careful and continue living a healthy lifestyle. He also said that I am an asthmatic and not to let my guard down. Also, to call if I get a flare-up.
Lisa, I got a thicker yoga mat from Amazon, and it is a game-changer. I am so glad you started a boutique of your work. I love it! Beautiful picture of you, too.
Margaret, I love the beautiful flowers; they have the power to brighten my day. Thank you.
Rita, I bet you look so cute with your new haircut. Thank you for inspiring me to get a manicure and pedicure this week.
Tracey, my fear of bees and wasp prevent me from enjoying my moonroof. I do open it at night in the summer. Rose loves it. I didn't know I had that feature until I found the button and discovered it a week after getting the car. Then, I found out that it was an All Wheel Drive. Lastly, I realized that I had seat warmers and a steering wheel warmer last winter. That will come in handy when I move to Chicago.
Rosemarie, I usually travel with my DH or my bestie, Baby Suko. I did fly first class with my son, and that was fun. He is not a good travel companion, because he didn't want to leave his room. So I missed going to the beach. All we did was look at colleges at that time(pre-COVID), go to In-N-Out Burger(he was obsessed). Then we went to a two-story bookstore, which was our highlight. Baby Suko forces me to get out and experience things. Dh does too. My son and I would hide in the house for a week. Except I would eventually surface to swim, walk around, and shop. He only surfaces for food. However, when I went to New York to visit him, he accompanied me last year to see Wicked, the Empire State Building, the Met, and dinner at our favorite pizza place. I was telling him yesterday that I found a favorite bookstore in NYC, and we discovered that we both love the same bookstore. I also told him that during the day, I would like him to accompany me on a walk through Central Park.
Allie, it looks like Delia is really blond. I love your grands. It is a good thing we don't have each other's addresses. I would send stuff to your grands, and get Lisa a thick yoga mat. I already spend too much money on my patients in the hospital. I will pray for you to get better.
Beth, Spinal Fusions are very tricky in the healing process. I have had many patients who had to have the hardware removed due to an infection and some hardware poking out. I hope you find the problem and resolve it quickly.
You all know I am a talker. I am going to go work out, then head to the PO to send the information to my SIL so she can work on getting subsidized care in my MIL's memory care. She was hospitalized recently due to a stroke. 😥 So she is leaving an independent care facility for memory care. I also need to send a check to DH, as well as return the clothes I didn't want from Stitch Fix.
TaTa for now.

Very busy week. Brother with Alzheimer's was in hospital for several days. Oxygen levels were extremely low. Discovered two pulmonary embolisms. Sent home with oxygen yesterday. Seems to be doing better.
House stuff:
Got last of stuff out of house yesterday. Of course, now I do another sort to see ifth what I brought will really fit in somewhere or I have to purge some more. Actually, I am doing that.two With initial purges I did it seems like it is easier to toss more here when I am in the actual space. Working on the living room and kitchen areas tonight and tomorrow. Spare bedroom is going to take longest. I am storing pictures to be scanned (lots of pictures) in there and some other stuff. Getting pictures done will free up tremendous space. I may look into sorting and deciding what I want scanned and maybe look into one of the companies who do such things to get it done if not cost prohibitive.
House should be listed sometime next week, Am scheduling fence work and need to get power washing completed. New downspouts look good. Company sent bill for completion of roofing project. Since they are coming to repair a shingle or tow that their inspector didn't like on September 11, I told them I would pay when I receive comfirmation job completed properly.
Allie - I hope they figure out things for you.
Mo - don't know if it is the case in your area, but we seem to be having another run of Covid going around here. I got flu shot earlier this week (wanted it before flying). Pharmacy is supposed to have new Covid vaccine in October -they will send out messages when available.
Rebecca - the side effects you are experiencing seem to be most unpleasant. Hope they get under control.
Should comment more but very tired this evening. We worked quite hard yesterday and I got quite a bit accomplished today. Going to fold laundry and watch a little tv.
Take care all,

Good Evening, Ladies,
Ginny, I had a 7-week-old baby with COVID. We also had a 13-year-old with it. I hope I didn't misunderstand. I was on the elevator with the Foster mom, and she didn't have a mask on. I suppose it is time for me to put on my mask again.
Allie, tell Tracey to be careful because Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease is rampant, too.
Pip, how is Ethel and the gang doing?
Rebecca, I thought of you and laughed so hard I barely could finish cutting my toenails. Remember when you said that cutting toenails can be dangerous? I remembered, put on my glasses, and cut them. By the way, do you remember the name of the medication they prescribed for constipation?
Well, I got my workout in and brought it to the post office before they closed. I sent back the items I didn't want from Stitch Fix. Rust is not my color to wear. The jeans they sent were too expensive. I got some cute jeans from Old Navy for less than $20.00. Now, I am in a smaller size, but that is okay. I cannot get myself to pay $50.00 to $68.00 for a pair of jeans. The other tops didn't look good with my color either. The dress they sent was so cute, and the purple blouse was beautiful too. So, I kept those items. Then I went back to the grocery store to pick up a few items. Then, I called DH and told him no more errands. (I took the legal papers to the Post Office to mail to SIL and a Check to DH.) I have not heard anything from the nursing home, so I hope no news is good news. If not, they'd better let me know before I pay them. Well, I am going to paint, but I should fold clothes like Ginny is doing. I'd better put my clothes on wrinkle release. Good night, everyone.
XO,

Heehee, yep glad you put on your glasses! The medication they gave me was Gastrografin. Then I got some Polyeth Glycol 3350 powder that if I don't have a bowel movement within 24 hrs I can take 17 grams of that. I have only taken it once. I guess its no different than Mirilax powder.

Grandmallie: Maybe this is your valve and when you go on Tuesday you will be admitted for immediate testing followed by surgery. Please don't try and wait until Tuesday if your not safe in the house. Can you take your blood pressure? We all know the ropes by now. We go to the ER where the surgery would take place and the ER should call the cardiologist on call to come evaluate you. This may not be the time to be passive. Can't an echocardiogram be done at the bedside or am I wrong about that.
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Ethel is doing great. She likes playing tug o war with Lucy. I don’t have her on a leash when I take them out for potty breaks, no need, she comes back when called. Walking great on our walks, couldn’t have asked for a better trained girl, thanks for asking.

Grandmallie: I read an echocardiogram can be done in the ER. Not a complete fancy one, but enough to get some information about your cardiac status. I mean you are short of breath and light headed. You have a kidney transplant that needs solid circulation. I know it is a holiday week end, but your mitral valve does not know!

Ginny — that's what we did when we moved last year.
We purged quite a lot as we moved … many trips to the tip! But since we've been in the house and are getting settled in with the way that we want to use the place, more stuff has gone.
The second purge isn't as urgent as the first one - we've got time to think about whether we'll really use these things or not.

On Sciatica …
The only time I have experienced it was when I was cycling ultra-long distances on a saddle that had seen better days. In the beginning, that saddle was good, but after all the cycling, weather, etc. it had begun to disintegrate.
I didn't realise what it was at first, but sought medical attention and was diagnosed. Then I had to figure out why it had started up … and the saddle seemed the most likely cause because I had not changed other seating choices (at home, in the office), I was active, I was slender, I had not had a recent injury, and I didn't have any of the other conditions which might cause sciatica.
I started doing more stretching (something I'm not particularly good at remembering to do) and changed my saddle.
In a few weeks, the pain was gone.
I knew another cyclist who had terrible pain and discovered that it was her work car which had her in a different position which was putting pressure on the nerve. She discovered it when her company changed her car as part of the lease after a couple years of pain. A few weeks in the new car, and she was good as new.
In one of my recent jobs, I developed numb feet and pain down my lower legs. Saw a doctor who sent me for a couple tests, then lost interest. I was doing all sorts of stretching and so on. That job was a 6-month term position. I moved into a new position (job) at the end of 6 months, and in a couple weeks, everything was OK. I figured out it was the chair!
So one suggestion is … think about your sitting arrangements.

I did not have a good night! John heard me screaming from a nightmare, from next door! He was just about to come in and wake me up when I stopped. I don't remember that, but I did wake up twice with afib and had to do some vagus nerve exercises and read my Poirot for a while to get it to calm down. It's fine now. I had some red wine, with our duck, which I haven't drunk in months, and that can exacerbate the condition for me. Of course, I had forgotten about that when I decided to drink it. 🙄
I know some people can take house guests in their stride, even new people, but I have never been one of them. In the days when I gave dinner parties, I would lose a whole week planning and preparing, and worrying. Some very familiar people cause less worry, but I haven't had my son here for years, have only seen him very infrequently, and his partner has never been here. As always, it will be fine once they are here. 🙂
Good luck for Tuesday, Allie.

Heather: I always stress out when people are coming. It’s my latent perfectionism reasserting itself. 😜Took a break yesterday and did some wee watercolour sketches. I may trim them and use them for cards.
Woke this morning early and decided to get up look at some admin. 2 hours later found myself reorganising my iPad photos, 😱Not what I intended at all! I’ve got to go out and get fresh produce for the weekend!

Heather: I clean before houseguests even if it is already clean! At least with the decluttering it is easier! I hope you are feeling better from the red wine! I had duck at my wedding..it was delicious! Do not think I have had a well prepared duck since!
Machka: The sciatica experience reminds me of the time I purchased a mattress that was quickly making me arthritic. I would wake up stiff and sore. Finally we put it in the storage, and purchased a new one. Sunk costs! I am scared to purchase a mattress now!
Terri: Love the watercolor! I could dive into that water and swim to the island!
Sigh! I looked at the schedule for classes at the gym and they are canceled for the week end! At least the gym is open today! It is closed on Monday. They open in 90 minutes! I hope I can keep my momentum up to go! I should leave the house right at first light so I don't sink into the couch!
Pipcd: Congrats that Ethel is doing so well! i took my dog out at 4:30 am and the 2 dogs across the street are on the deck and started loudly barking. I am sure people woke up! Chispa is so cute in the crate!

Mo - I believe I am wearing mask at airports. May be overkill but I also wouldn't want to carry anything to family. Another thing for us to check on when having symptoms of something.
Machka - my only urgency is to get stuff out of main rooms so I have order and clear walkways! Due to how I "packed" some things (I used shopping bags since easier to carry), they are easily sortable when unpacking and even just consolidating will help.
Pip- You and Kirby do a great job with your dogs. Several folks in this complex have dogs that could use some training (or maybe their owners do?).
Terri - I like your water colors. I am taking a weekly painting class taught by one of the residents who never painted until he retired. I am not very good (yet?) but am learning a bit about technique and I find the process very relaxing so I am going to keep working.
Heather - I suffered from pretty severe nightmares when I was younger, but thankfully they subsided.
Allie- I agree with others. Monitor things very carefully this long weekend and don't hesitate to go get help.
Rosemarie - one of the things I like about retirement is that I can go out and walk at first light. It is a great way to start my day. That was hard to do when working-early movement does give us more energy,
Off to take my morning walk. I am also taking a walk after dinner most evenings. Need to run down to Kohls to get some stuff for trip. Big excitement here today is the Ohio State - Texas game. It should be a very good football game. May watch part of it in the common area. If folks are too intense I will probably go back to apartment. I keep reminding myself they are boys playing these games to entertain us - no need letting it control my emotions the whole day!
Take care all,

That's how we packed too.
I'm currently going through the office which was full to about waist high with brown paper bags and other shopping bags. And a few smaller boxes. And a couple laundry baskets.
All the boxes and bags with books have been unloaded onto the shelves.
I'm consolidating what's in the rest of the bags into big bins which have been designated an "office" category … and putting the rest of the stuff away in the rooms where they belong.
Already a number of things (including phone boxes!) have been thrown away which is good.
I did the main bedroom a few months ago and got rid of quite a lot of stuff which should have been gone ages ago. We moved it all because I didn't have time to deal with it before the move (although I should have dealt with it a few years ago). The new place and fresh start were inspirational.

Morning, kids,
Just the usual Saturday morning… Yesterday, Corey's eye doctor put the eye dilator drops in, and they threw him off so much he wasn't able to get the shopping or anything else done. He came straight back home with a stinker of a headache, sat down on the couch and promptly went to sleep for a couple hours. Forced rest - not fun, but necessary.
Thanks for the comments on the Go Imagine site. A lot of people have put up some really good stuff on there, but a lot of people are selling crocheted doggy poop bag holders, so it's kind of a mixed set of things you'll find on there. I went through everything online, changed prices, and added the newer stuff yesterday. Then took it all down off hangers, etc., got them all into protective cloth bags that I'm storing in labeled file boxes. Loved seeing it all hanging up, but it's not good for fabric and yarn.
Terri - Loving the watercolors. Quite charming.
Any other advice or comment I could give has been given already, probably better than I would! Which always makes me feel like I've just said, "Can you add my name to that card and present? I'll catch you later for my part of the cost." 😂This group is such a lovely part of my every day… and I'm grateful for that, as well.
I've got two projects in progress, plus laundry to get in the dryer. Hope it's a nice weekend for everyone…
Love,

when we walk the kids sometimes a dog will be barking his brains out from across the street and our kids will be looking at them like, what is the deal guys, it’s not that serious!then after we pass them they look at me as if to say, well, did we do good? We didn’t bark back so where’s my treat.10 -

😀 Ginny, Good decluttering takes time. Some things have to go into a holding area while you think about them. i scanned photos a few years ago and I'm so glad that I did. I set aside 15-30 minutes a day for the job and eventually it got done. Now I have a great file of photos on my computer (and on a thumb drive as back up). I gave each photo a name so they could be searched. I, too, love being able to walk first thing in the morning—it's cool and quiet.
😀❤️ Allie, I'm thinking of you this weekend. Make sure you rest and eat healthy food.
😀 Terri, I love your watercolors.
😀 Pip, you are so fortunate to have your wonderful dogs. You and Kirby are great dog parents.
😀 Heather, Except for Jake's daughter, I won't be having any houseguests. She is easy. She brings and prepares her own food and takes care of herself. You are brave to be hosting people. I'd be inclined to offer to pay for them to find lodgings nearby.
😀 Rosemarie, I have to have a schedule to be sure I stay active. The dogs like their walks but they also like it when I sit in my chair or on the couch and watch TV with them. Very few calories are burned while sitting on the couch.
😀 This morning's drizzle has changed my plans for what yard work I'll do.

On overnight house guests …
We have a 3-bedroom house with NO spare bedrooms.
One room is our bedroom, one is the dressing room, and one is my office.
When the office floor is cleared, we could potentially put out an air mattress for a guest if necessary, but that's rather unlikely.
In the whole time we've been married and living together (16 years), we've had 2 sets of overnight guests.
We've rarely had anyone over for anything … we prefer to meet elsewhere so that we can end the visit and go home.

I love having guests stay! The more the merrier. We regularly have 6 stay with us for our Halloween party each year. When my girlfriends from childhood come, we have had up to 14 at one time.
