@Fursian payback for all the times I’ve gotten drunk or tipsy and was just mean, argumentative, quick tempered, or just annoying. Now that I haven’t been drinking for a month, I starting to see how my actions/reactions have changed. Last night, I was telling him it had been 28 days and I paused (as I was multitasking and lost my train of thought) and attempting to finish my sentence he said, “of being good?” And I said, “since I had a drink.” So, it just made me think he was tipsy and being pissy to get back at me for all the times I did it to him if he thinks my not drinking is “being good”. 🤷🏻♀️
CONGRATS, @globalhiker!!🎉🎉🎉 So proud of and happy for you! I hope to be just like you when I grow up!😉

@NonnieDoiron Ah, I see. Oh yes! I remember the weird behaviour and arguments that drunk me and the OH got into or when one of us was and the other one wasn't 😬🤪 lol. Well done on those 28 days, by the way!

I am so happy to say farewell to August for all kinds of reasons! Mostly that my husbands surgery is behind us (he’s been preparing for two months and I was just hitting my own limits). He’s doing very well after 3 days home, hallelujah. Has PT and F/U doctor appt next week - we are moving forward!
I love a fresh start - eager to greet September tomorrow with new goals. Today I’m working on writing out my values list to begin focusing on creating healthier habits this Fall season. 🍁5 -

@Michieb125, I'm glad to hear that your husband's surgery went well and your stress level has lowered. I hope the good progress continues.
@NonnieDoiron, I think it's a positive change that your husband has noticed differences in your reactions to events. I wish drinking less alcohol changed my behavior for the better; I'm not sure that it has. That's probably something I should think about. Maybe I just haven't found a satisfying "replacement" behavior. Sometimes, I think I'm more anxious.
@tmbg1, I'm glad to know that cooking without a glass of wine is a struggle for others. I've tried ice tea, water, even NA beer, but it's not the same pleasure.

@Michieb125 So glad everything went well with your husband's knee surgery. I survived my husband having two knee replacement surgeries…one about 10 years ago and the other 3 years ago. I don't envy anyone going through this …my friend just did about a week ago!!!

@NonnieDoiron I woke up this morning with both hands numb - had to sit up and shake them out to get the blood circulating back into them. Nice August stats!

Hi everyone,
Happy September! Yes, I'm calling a new "Do-Over". I've promised to remain accountable; so there it is. I had alcohol on both Friday and Saturday and therefore broke my latest AF streak. I have no choice but to accept and try again. I can't give up. I'm afraid about the blood pressure and pancreatic pain.
The first of the month is always a good choice to start, and September always feels like a new beginning for me; so... here I go again!
THIS time I lost my keys! Can't find them anywhere! Luckily, I have a spare set of housekeys, but I will need to replace my office keys. My only concern is if I left them in my door and someone might have taken them! The only item of value I own is my 32-inch, Samsung HD TV. That's it. It's still unsettling. I left a note by the mailboxes downstairs. No idea if I'll ever get them back. (Drunk people lose things!) My cat would hide; so she'd be okay. Even if they came in and said, "Give me all your money", or "We're going to the ATM", or "Give me your credit card" - they'd get nothing, because that's all I have. (Credit card maxed out, savings ~$50, checking $5.84 but will overdraw, once pending restaurant tabs clear (tips). Joke's on them, if they try it. (Plus, I fight back; so if they don't have a gun…)
On the plus side, my weight is down, but it might come back once I resume eating normally. We'll see...
I've got to get out together, and quickly.
I will keep checking in and will try to do better.

Found my keys! They were at the last bar I visited on Friday! Lucky me! (Kinda) Will fill in details tomorrow.
09/01 and 09/02, 100% AF! (002 days)
I will wait and start posting milestones once 8 complete the first week.
'Bye for now - I'll try to check in at least once per day.
