I'm in a program that requires me to send a picture of my feet on the scale and I also send my scale app stats. (This helps to keep me honest!)π
This way, I can't "fudge" on the date OR the number!
Basic measurements aren't that great:
B:40"/W:38"/H:39.5"/P:43" ("P" stands for "POOCH" or "POTBELLY". Too bad it sticks out more than my butt, LOL!)
I will check back in on Wednesday.
Enjoy this first week of September!
Best wishes on your journey,
πCarole

That's a cool-looking scale! I put it in my cart to order. I think it will be useful to have that information, but I'm also scared to see what it will tell me!

Hi there! Iβm looking forward to following you all and posting to this group. Iβve just resumed posting my meals to MFP about a month ago. About 18 months ago, I lost the weight and thought I was at a perfect weight, but I slowly put it back on. Unfortunately, a year ago I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and Iβve been so focused on getting enough calcium through food, that Iβve let the rest of my diet and physical exercise suffer.
Iβm determined to get back in shape. So, I am starting with Sept. to help me become accountable and get back on track. I post on Wednesdays.

Hi there, @StepWise123! Glad you're getting the scale - it's really great! (I don't like how it thinks my "Metabolic Age is 72 though! (Gotta fix that - I'm 67 and walked 7.14 miles today!)
(Sleep Score: 85)
Tomorrow's my weigh-in day. I will make sure to post.
Have a great week!

okay, Lady. What scale is that and what's the app?? I want it!
1 -
soβ¦. I can't possibly be the only person here who feels compelled to weigh themselves every freaking day. Then I either get inspired or depressed by minor daily fluctuations which affects my mood and eating that day. How to discipline yourself to only weigh once per week??
6 -
I am a big proponent of daily weighing. I am also a big proponent of ignoring the number you see, at least sort of.
I use a spreadsheet. I add my daily weight, and I keep a ten-day rolling average. I actually have TWO spreadsheets. One calculates a weighted moving average. The weighed moving average gives more importance to today's weight than yesterdays, and that is more important than two days ago. It basically helps even out the NORMAL up-and-down of actual scale weight. For more information about it, check out The Hackers Diet, especially the section on Signal and Noise.
Remember, the number on the scale isn't just the mass of YOU. It's also the mass of food moving through the hole that goes from your mouth to the other end. It's also any extra water your tissues are carrying for any of several reasons.
If you're interested in the spreadsheet, I think I have one on a Google Drive that I can share. You'll have to update the dates, and it's kind of weird because you go right to left instead of left to right. That's how the equations work. I also have one for weekly weigh-ins, but weekly weigh-ins don't provide as much valuable data.
I can go up or down SEVERAL pounds in a day. It's hard at first, but you can eventually learn to ignore the ONE number and instead watch the trend. Weighted moving averages are awesome.

I agree, I want to weigh every day too. But, I ONLY weigh at the same time every morning after I pee and completely naked. I donβt even have a cup of coffee first. No matter what the scale says the only weight I put stock into is the one I do on Monday mornings. The weights in between I just use as motivation. If Iβm up, I need to buckle down and stay focused. I have a goal, and I need to get to it. If Iβm down, YAY! Iβm validated and need to keep doing what Iβm doing.
I successfully traveled the weight loss road several years ago, and that was truly how I dealt with the scale. I have found myself doing it again this time too, so I am feeling confident I will attain my goal.
After saying all that, watch Mondayβs weigh-in be a complete dud! LOLπ€£π€£π€£

ππππ 09/01 --185.0 β (Trend Weight: 184.6) And Just like that I swell up overnight with fluid because I couldnβt take my prescribed water pill (heart condition). Unfortunately it is not always easy come, easy go. Especially when the holiday is today and the BBQ is waiting along with a large family and friend group. Wednesday I will also be traveling a couple of hours each way for a medical appointment. Lunch will be out so thereβs no hope for weight recovery there! I just hope that by the time I weigh on Sunday, there will be some improvement. Good luck in September, my friends. Itβs proving already to be an especially cold early fall in Northern Michigan so far. Highβs the whole upcoming week will only reach the mid 50βs F. Nightime, 30βs and 40βs F. Brrrβ¦.maybe Iβll shiver off a pound or two!
