Beth, I’m so sorry about your mother’s situation. It has to be so hard.
Michelle, I take one Tylenol Arthritis and one Aleve for arthritis knee pain. It’s the combo my orthopedic doctor recommended. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Here is a collage I made - both pics were taken at the little country church where we were married,

Haven't heard it from my son but saw the post on FB by son's girlfriend that her status has changed to ENGAGED- They got engaged on her birthday(Sunday). We knew it was going to happen but haven't talked to him since then. They are 27 and dating for over 7 yrs. Super sweet girl- His very first girlfriend.
Temp today will be 25 degrees cooler here at home compared to where we were yesterday.
Got most of the fridge cleaned out-tossing most. Did keep things like pickles which I know are ok- a few things I hope will still be good- will check before cooking.
Baking cinnamon rolls and cookies that were in the fridge, then cooler box that need to be baked
Need to make a list of what we need to get. First thing is mayo!! I really want a BLT.
Need cilentro to make a big batch of pico de gallo-tomatoes and hot peppers from the garden need to be used up.Need to cut the back lawn later- the run off from the top garden makes the lawn grow super fast. It is a small area so quick to do with just the weed eater> I like doing it and don't want dh doing it- he gets too close to my pots and takes out the sides of way too many, even after I ask him to be more careful-he just gets mad but still gets them, ruined many brand new ones.
No exercise today unless my friend wants to walk later this evening which will be nice.
Need to make a small batch of raspberry jam- planned on eating some of the berries fresh but, I put them it the freezer part of the fridge when it wasn't working just to keep them cool and it froze them- that is ok- there will be more to eat fresh.

spoke too soon- freezer part is not working right again- they will be out tomorrow to work on it again.
Glad we didn't go buy a bunch of food yet-was just heading out when dh went to get ice and found the ice melted.4 -

Kay - 50 years! Many, many, congratulations.
Debbie - So happy for your son and his girlfriend.
Carol - Edie did both of those designs. She loves messing around with my photo app! I love the way kids just have a go at anything. It was pure experiment. It went wrong many times!
We all had a terrific time. Max took himself off to John's study and devised a complicated board game which they all played. It took him hours! Enjoyed by all. Edie painted and played Mr and Mrs with John and me. We did pretty well. I showed Bea photos of when I was on the stage as a kid at my dancing school. We then sang the songs.
I managed to get a rest when they played Max's game, so it all went quite smoothly. I made some of us hot chocolate in my French bistro cups. It was as thick as Spanish or Italian chocolate. Edie dipped her mini pretzels in it.
The phone company are coming tomorrow morning to change over our mainline phone to an Internet fibre optic one. Plus new modem etc. John tried to cancel the mainline, but we still have contract to run. I hope it doesn't mess up all our gadgets. Printer etc. Grrrr! I'm leaving him to deal with it all for a change.

Kay - Happy Anniversary to you and Dave! Fun to look at the wedding photos from the 70's. Who were those kids, right? 😁 And they were so young, lol.
Rita - hope you were able to get some Tylenol Arthritis. I'm going to look into that. My tummy has been kind of upset, I'm thinking it might be either left over from the UTI antibiotics or the Cele coxib which I'm going to discontinue for a while and see if that's the culprit. Blasted arthritis. Eating kraut and yogurt to hopefully get my system back in shape from the antibiotics.
Debbie - how annoying about your fridge. Hope it gets fixed once and for all. And congrats to your son and his fiance. They are such a cute couple and it's neat they've known each other for a long time too. 😍
Allie - we haven't heard from you in a couple days. Didn't you have an appointment today? Sending (((HUGS)))
I've also been thinking of Vicki and Meg, our Nebraska ladies. Hope all is going well for them. Vicki was learning her new job last we heard from her.

They have actually known each other even longer than that. They went to school together. She was dating one of his friends but broke up with the other guy so she could date my son. They are all still friends. All of the friends he has(not a lot but enough) are all guys he went to school with since like first grade. All really good "kids"

Heather - here we can get an identification card that looks exactly like our licenses for a nominal fee, much less than the license renewal.
Is your money coloured like that? Do you still have the Queen on yours? She is still on ours or if there are some new ones with the King I haven’t received one yet.
This year our $5 bill is getting a Canadian icon on it. Terry Fox. I met him when he did his run. Our school ran with him for a bit from the bridge to the school and then we had an assembly.Kylia - I had an Aunt that had two Maine coons. Such a beautiful cat.
Are you going to the farm for your vacation?Lisa - the more you tell about Southern Women the more I think that there are many similarities to the Maritimes in Canada. I wonder if the original immigrants were from the same areas? If I had paid any attention at all to social studies or history I may know that answer already. 😂 Sorry to the teachers, I just had no interest whatsoever in those subjects after elementary school.
I hope Corey’s eye is fine today, having an eye injury always worries me. I am next to legally blind in my left eye so really protect my right one.Lottery - I used to only play when the jackpot was huge. Since my Dad passed though I get this urge to go buy one. I only ever buy one, I figure that’s all it takes. If Dad is creating these urges I wish he would also provide me numbers.
Lanette - I was curious what that time would be, ours is 2 hours 45 minutes. 😫 I already have lights on in the evening around 830.
Kay - Happy anniversary!
Debbie - Congratulations to your son and DIL to be! Sorry about your fridge.
Allie - you’ve been on my mind too, hope you’re doing well.
I registered my car today and went to the dealership after work to give them their plate back and the tank of gas they promised me.
I’m tired again this evening. It’s the dark early, it gets me every fall.

I have room to do these in our new place …

Maybe you don't need the injections … just eat the way you were in the week or two before you upped the dose.
And add in a daily walk down the street and back.

Hi Everyone;
Wished DS a happy birthday, and told him about how he didn't want to come out and how the doctors were digging in deeper so they could catch him. I also told him that he was clinging to me. I went on Messenger and was able to send a friend request, but I couldn't find how to send one to Alli and someone else. I had to take another laxative today, because I felt nauseated. Well, I'd better go to bed, because the melatonin is kicking in. Talk tomorrow, good night.

Morning, all,
Allie - Checked on FB and nothing there from you yesterday, either… let us know how you're doing when you can, please.
Heather - Read not just that article but a couple there on Rayner. Wow. The UK press style of political op eds hasn't changed much in 30 years... Loved Edie's fun with your graphics program, she's really quite good.
Kay - Happy 50th! Hope it was a lovely day for you both.
Debbie - Congratulations on your son's engagement, and your soon-to-be status as a mother-in-law!
Machka - Thanks for the yoga poses - just starting to add moves back in, and that reminded me of a few I want to add.
Terri - Sorry about the gastric upset. It's never easy.
Tracey - Corey just got up (I was up at 4 a.m. for some reason), and his eye is quite a bit further open than yesterday. He seems to be healing fast. I offered to make him a sequined eye patch last night and he turned me down! 😲😹🥰🏴☠️He could have taken Egg to work as a parrot! 🦜I think he would have looked quite rakish. In all reality, though, I agree, eye damage is quite scary. He does wear safety glasses at work. Sometimes. Or he says he does, anyway.
More in a minute - I need to absorb a little more coffee…

Hey, kiddos,
Hope life is treating you kindly this morning… After Rebecca reminded me and I got my skin doctor scheduled, I went to PT at 1:30 and then headed for the dermatologist right after. I was right, was my last PT, as I was referred for 15 visits. They were great, and honestly, the closest I've come to having f2f social interactions since the pandemic and retiring early. Wonderful people.
The dermatologist removed a lipoma on my ankle and a cyst on the back of my neck, both of which were getting irritated by my clothing. Kind of like being attacked by a vampire with REALLY bad aim. Two stitches in my ankle and three in my neck. Mildly painful last night - like a burn and a stab combined on the one on my neck - but no pain today at all. I can even take a shower today, which kinda surprised me, but I'm glad.
One more lipoma on my back needs removing, but she didn't want to do three areas at once yesterday. I'll be going back in mid-October to get that one taken care of. So pleased that, since I have original Medicare, I didn't have to go to a primary doc first, I can just make the decision. Total deductible for the year is $257, and still got a bit of that to go after my cardiologist earlier in the year, but I'm OK with it. So worth not dealing with the VA for a change!
Beth - Yeah, I don't know why the lottery has to get to a billion for me to get a ticket, but you and I are definitely not alone! Apparently, ticket sales go up 175% after the prizes get to a billion USD. Americans are 15 times more likely to buy a ticket once it gets to a billion. The dreaming is fun, and finding out what your spouse's priorities are can be eye-opening. 😲🥰👀
Mo - Happy belated birthday to your son! I went ahead and sent you a friend request - it will come from Lisa Hannon. I did a search for my own name and my husband's ex-wife came up with four accounts. She's been dead for a couple of years now, so that was a little disturbing… 🤷🏻♀️
Time to get the sheets off the bed and in the washer. Not sure what else my day holds, but my carpet tiles come in tomorrow, and I can start figuring out how I'm going to place these multicolored pieces. Fingers crossed I can come up with something that's both functional and fun.
Later, my dears,
Love,

Thanks Michele!
There you are, Pip! I can see you from our "room"! hehehe...
OMGosh Rebecca, I have so many old pix like that from when the grands stole my phone. HA!
That's my guess too, Tracey. I just hope that I can get everything done that I want to get done and ready for the next person.
He is Lanette... has been since his dad passed and he had to take care of his mom. God rest her soul. Apparently she was much further along with dementia then Dad was letting on... Go figure. smh.
Love and Blessings

Lisa - Yes, who'd be a female politician? Ugh. I think you need 10 thick skins. They are definitely out to get her, have been for years.
Our new WiFi hub is up and running and I'm signed in on phone, tablet and laptop. It appears to be faster, but I could be imagining it. Our main phone is still working, how, I don't quite understand. I don't know if it's on the Internet or not. We have been given an emergency phone to plug in if the Internet goes down.
Hate change! Grrr!
But I did write this morning, stopping every few minutes to research something from the early 70s. 'Did I remember that right?' We certainly didn't pay a lot of attention to drink-driving regulations then, and the limits were higher. Also, flavours of what we call crisps. I did remember everything correctly. Phew!
Tracey - it's taking them a while to change the head into Charles lll. I've not seen many, but I use cash hardly at all. Yes, I think, of course you should have a Canadian hero on there.

😀 It has been a long time since I've had difficulties with online ordering and delivery but over the weekend I had several.
😪 Annie chewed up another TV remote that I must have left in a tempting easy to get to place. I ordered a new one from Amazon (I had an extra so I wasn't desperate). When the new one came, I couldn't get the back off to put in batteries so I arranged a return and ordered a replacement. When the second one came the next day, I still couldn't take the back off so I went to my handy neighbour and he couldn't get it open, either. He said I'd probably have to pry it off with a knife, so I went home and pried it off with a knife, inserted batteries, and now it works.
😪 My regular order from Chewy via FedEx was delivered to the wrong address on Saturday. I found that out at bedtime so I messaged FedEx that the package was delivered to the wrong address. The next morning on my walk, I saw the package on another porch (a house that Google maps confuses with our house) so on the way to the grocery store I stopped and got the package. Yesterday, a driver from FedEx stopped at my house to ask about the package. He had followed up at the other house and talked to the people there. He said it was a new driver who didn't know the route.
😀 I tried to order a box from the US Post Office to mail a portion of Jake's ashes to his granddaughter in Ohio (daughter of his daughter who died) but the website wanted me to set up an account but wouldn't allow any password I tried to use. I was clearly frustrated until in the middle Monday night, I thought about what my friend who doesn't use a computer would do, and in the morning called USPS Customer Service and talked to a nice agent who set up my order and got the box on the way to me by the end of the day.
😀 After all of that I was delighted that the socks I ordered arrived in my mailbox as scheduled.
😀 Heather, thanks for the article about Brighton & Hove.
😀 Lisa, glad they found that stuff and dealt with it at the dermatologist.
😥 Terri, hope you feel better
😀 Rebecca, I agree with Machka. Why don't you just continue with your healthy eating plan and some exercise and stop those injections that seem to be giving you bad side effects.
😀 Kay, Happy Anniversary. I loved the photos of long ago and now.
😀 Dog groomer comes today.

Kay … Happy Anniversary to you and Dave!
Eyes … I have been very careful with my eyes … especially when I couldn't hear and only used visual cues and lip reading to communicate. To be both deaf and blind was/is terrifying to me. Even though my hearing is now good with the cochlear implant, I still worry about damage to my eyes.
Rebecca … I'm with Machka in thinking the GLP-1s may not be the best choice for you. Changing your perception of food to fuel instead of fun may be the game changer for you. My son this morning commented that he has never seen food as fuel and this shift in his thinking is making a significant difference. Just my 2 cents worth and not even worth that, but taking a medication that creates bowel issues for you seems counterproductive.
Allie … I'm praying all is well too
Visited my mother yesterday with Dairy Queen Peanut Buster Parfaits in hand (ice cream with hot fudge and peanuts… her favorite). She is a character. Mad at me at first. Softened up with the ice cream, looking up at one point to tell me it was delicious. Still has enough wits about her to shoot some sarcastic zingers at me in reference to the day before. And at one point acknowledged that the name used in the book she was reading must have upset her. Before I left, I wished her a good afternoon and asked if she wanted her door closed so she could read (which is what she always does). Her response: Am I allowed to? Which I replied: I'm not your censor. Read any book you want and scare the H*** out of yourself. To which we both laughed.
Today I plan to catch up around the house.

I got a strange e-mail from a friend yesterday. It asked me if I had an Amazon account. I checked and it was from her e-mail my first reaction was I should reply and ask her why she is asking this. Something stopped me. I DID NOT REPLY to this e-mail. It is a phishing scheme. I had her husband e-mail and he said they were hacked. What they do is if they can get you to reply then then can get a hold of your list of friends on e-mail. I immediately also deleted my browser. I did look up this scam…As long as I didn't reply the scammer should not have been able to hack my e-mail. Another thing I do to stay safer is when I log into my e-mail account I do that offline. After logging in I then turn on my browser.
Lesson is even if I get e-mail from someone I know and something seems off I will contact them in a different way. Yesterday I also had a friend on Facebook who sent me a message with an attachment. Not her style so I did not touch that message. She was hacked on Facebook. I told her she needs to change her password to her account. I am now on 2-step verification to Facebook. It is a pain but makes it less likely to be hacked unless I respond to a friend or open something of a friend who is hacked.
OH bother!!!!

Margaret - I saw an announcement on FB a couple days ago that Gmail had been hacked, it was advisable to change passwords so I did. Thought it was odd that it didn't come from Google, but it was time to change the password anyhow. Not sure if that contributed to any of the problems you mentioned?
Lisa - glad you were able to get into the derm and get things taken care of. So happy your PT has paid off. I'm considering signing up for a month of Netflix to watch The Thursday Murder Club and whatever else they are featuring. I'll go for the cheap one with ads.😁
Rebecca - I would not be patient enough to deal with the GLP-1 side effects that you are having. I have diverticulosis so could not chance constipation. Some folks can handle these meds just fine, while others have severe problems. 2 folks I know who took it to help with their T2 diabetes had to stop because it made them so ill so they went from metformin to insulin. They've lost weight by changing their diet - mostly cutting back carbs and have been able to cut their insulin down.
I'm meeting D this morning for "breakfast" at 9:30 (her best time since she doesn't get up early) - though I was so hungry this morning I've already eaten breakfast, which I normally do by 8, so we'll see what's on the menu at a new restaurant. Our regular spot has closed for some reason and we were able to make great substitutions there. If it's too early for the lunch service, I'll just have tea. I refuse to pay $15 for 2 eggs, a slice of bacon and toast - my regular breakfast I fix here at home for probably $2. And I also refuse to pay $15 for a simple hamburger and fries! I don't normally eat that type of food anyhow.
The restaurant where I have lunch with M once a month always has a good variety of sandwiches and salads that are unique that I wouldn't make at home so it's worth paying $$ for something like that. I'll see if I can get D to go back there for lunch next month, she met me there once then for some reason we decided on this closer place.
Besides, that special restaurant (has been on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives) is down the street from Walmart. 😉.
I've started to read "The Frozen River" and I like it! Fun to imagine what the east coast of the US was like in the 1700's.

After work went to count the donations at the church. There were two deposits, one of which was almost double of what we usually deposit. Plus...the machine that counts the bills was giving us so much trouble, getting jammed, giving the wrong totals, etc. that we finally counted everything by hand. Actually, it wasn’t that bad at all. We made the deposit and I’m going to try to advocate that we can use the night deposit box.
Rebecca – can Athena get any cuter? Your sister’s home sure doesn’t like like it’s from 1875
I use a credit card most of the time. When you go to a store, so many places say “card only”
Deb – glad you didn’t have to replace the fridge
kylia – congrats on the new addition! Our first cat was a Maine Coon, was he ever gorgeous. So sorry to hear about your gs
Lisa – even tho I’m not originally from the South, I was always taught that guests don’t leave your house empty-handed. Hope Cory’s eye is better
FINALLY got the Amazon return straightened out. See, I’d ordered and received two shirts, one medium and one large. Well, they weren’t on my list of items that I’d ordered and I wanted to return the large. No one I chatted with helped...until today. I spoke to someone with a normal spelling name and she was able to rectify the situation in about ½ hr.
beth – that’s wonderful about your son. Was there anything in particular that precipitated this?
Katie – by taking this combo for the arthritis, does that eliminate the pain or just diminish it? Congrats on your anniversary? Isn’t it amazing the dramatic change in us? Thanks for posting your pics
I don’t think I’ll get to walk Ganon which means my step count will be low. Well, we didn’t get out of the bank until almost 1. Tonight he has some sort of appt. Not sure when he’ll be back
deb – oh, I’m so sorry about your freezer not working. Is the rest of the refrig working? Congrats to your son
Lanette – I like looking at the clothing from the 70’s, Did we REALLY wear that???
Just made spice cookies for Colby.
Mo – hopefully, it was me you were trying to send the request to. I’m Michele LeGrand
barbie – glad you got your remote working and that you got your box going
When I was probably about 10 or 11 (I know my mother was dead because my aunt took care of me) I had an operation for a lazy eye. To this day, I am very careful about my eyes
I don’t think I could deal with the side effects that Rebecca has had
Later everyone. Will probably take Ganon for a walk.
