She has done so changes, and previous ancestors have to technically it can't be registered. At least she doesn't qualify to put the "historical Century home" sign in the front yard.🙃

Tonight for dinner my husband made baked potatoes to go with his steak. He made me a small baked potato and I planned for 2 spoonfuls of sour cream! Yay! He does a great job!
Oh my previous meal choices of a Birds Eye Steam able s is not a great choice sodium wise. It was fairly good, but I could make a homemade version with a whole lot less sodium. I also would put in more broccoli! There were like two florets in the whole bag. I think the bag has 1200 grams of sodium, and there was 420 calories! I had just 1 cup out of the 2.50 portion. Even though it said it was 1 serving I was like nope! I had added 3 oz of cut up cooked shrimp so it was good. Not buying it ever again. Live and learn!
Feeling fine after my injection.
Shopping today and buying clothes detergent, toilet paper, a medium sized roast, coffee, tea, a handful of tv dinner meals, medium sized premium rice bag, Deli meats and cheese, plus other stuff we spent $200 bucks! Uuugh! Well next week won't be as pricey hopefully. I bought some protein yogurts, some Jello I lke, Naan dippers, veggies, so all stuff that keeps me going in this weight loss journey! Our fridge is packed and logistically there's shelves for specific things. The fact that our "plasticware" are leftover cottage cheese, sour cream, or yogurt containers stumps husband but he eventually finds what he's looking for!

Birds Eye Steamables?
Like these? I use ones like these at lunch every day. They've only got 34.0mg of sodium per serving and 44 calories.
My favourites are these ones with 17.0mg of sodium and 25 calories per bag … but they tend to be a little bit more expensive so I only get them when they are on sale.
At lunch, I have one bag of the veggies, 1 of the two rice cups (190 cal) and 1 tin of shredded chicken breast (50 cal).
Total calories somewhere between 275 and 300 calories.
Max sodium 340 mg.

I've been feeling "off" for about a week now and noticed glands up which means I'm fighting something.
My husband showed symptoms on Monday.
Tuesday night I developed an extremely sore throat and had that for the first 24 hours. I lost my voice then.
Wednesday evening, my sinuses went into full production mode and continued all day Thursday and into the night. My voice kind of came back a little.
4 hours of sleep last night when my sinuses eased up … until the coughing started.
I'm in the middle of the coughing mode and I've lost my voice again. I have been able to sleep in little bits and pieces throughout the day … until the coughing starts again.
I was coughing so much through the night that my husband wanted to take me to the hospital. He thought I might have pneumonia or something. Whooping cough actually floated through my mind at one point. Someone in my office has whooping cough right now — it's definitely around.
All that coughing is quite an upper body workout.
My husband has been about 24 hours ahead of me through this, and he seems somewhat better, so maybe there's hope.
I've used the triple test and according to it, I don't have COVID, RSV or Influenza A or B.
Someone in my immediate area at work was out for a week last week and his tests didn't show anything either. Maybe there's something new going on!

I enjoyed my trip to M&S yesterday. An evening skirt I liked was a bit of a squeeze in the waist, and no larger size, so I left it. Did buy some black jersey pyjama pants for the cruise. I have to look respectable for the butler who brings breakfast into the suite and collects it. And I can work out in them in the room. Picked up a few things M&S are good at, including a HUGE 'supergreen' salad for lunch, to compensate for the cheese scone I surrendered to in the café. Not cheesy enough, but nice.
When I got home I ordered a stretchy black t-shirt from them for the top half. The shop in Brighton is tiny and their stock is low. They never have my size.
I also went on Amazon and found a long black dress I like. It's just arrived, so I will try it on later. Blinged up with very sparkly jewellery, it should be good for the cruise. I've ordered some crazy sparkly earrings from Amazon. I never wear this kind of thing IRL, but it will get a few cruise outings in the next 6 months. V v cheap of course!!
It's all Prime, so v easy to return.

Heather: We’re still contemplating a river cruise, possibly the Danube or the Rhône. I’ve always fancied seeing the River of Fire on the Danube, although it’s an autumn cruise so not sure what the weather wil be like. DYD has intimated that she would love to join us, which makes it more likely to happen.
“River of Fire" refers to the "Danube of Fire" light and fireworks show that concludes a week-long festival called "Danube on Fire" in Tutrakan, Bulgaria

Go for it Terri! Weather never guaranteed. We had a Portuguese one booked in 2020, but Covid scuppered that one. Now, I'm not sure, as I would have to fly, and I hate packing for plane trips. I believe it's a very different experience to an ocean cruise, but great to go with DYD.
We are so lucky to live so close to our departure port. It's spoilt us. We take three big suitcases and a smaller bag each. We don't have to touch the suitcases once they are in our hallway. I know where you live you would have to travel first.
But, we aren't getting any younger. Do these things while you still can.
My dress fits beautifully and looks great. The quality of the material is much better than I was expecting. Nice and stretchy. Plenty of stretch for long, formal dinners. :-() I don't think I will have to wear a bra. V comfortable.
Price v good.

I have a couple dresses similar to that. But I need to loose about 10 kg to get into them again.
They're nice for warm days as they are, or for cooler days with a thin black top underneath.

Yes, Machka, I am so happy with it, and relieved to have something comfortable. My old evening dress is too small for me now, though it does stretch. I look like a bulging saveloy! The price for this was amazing, and the material feels like crêpe, not at all nylony.
I have several shrugs, a sparkly cape, and a beaded cardigan for all eventualities.

Good morning,
I had to change password as I couldn't remember old one. Not sure i remember what i changed it to-smh.
Machka- processed foods in the US have way too much sodium and sugars added. This is especially true if not just plain vegetables.
Beth- I don't tolerate pork or turkey well, so this made a great option. I will cook a little longer next time though. It is hard to come by affordable flavorfull chicken breasts. I pound them, use either Pam or olive oil on them, spice them, then put in the Nuwave cooker. I always use meat thermometer.
Heather- I love that dress!
Got a few things done yesterday. Still painting a wishing well. Still stretching. Heart doctor this morning before work. Tomorrow is the crunch day for packing. So ready for some mountains.
Healing thoughts to all!
Much love,
Kylia in Ohio

But surely not just frozen veggies? Frozen veggies are simply frozen veggies.
Here they say that snap frozen veggies are as good as or better than fresh veggies if the fresh veggies have been transported and stored over a period of time.
So we eat a lot of seasonal fresh veg that doesn't have a long transportation/storage time (especially from our own garden) or snap frozen veg.

Morning, kids,
Heather - Like the dress! I can see you with some very shiny things on it and around it…
Kylia - Hope your vacation time is wonderful. You need some long relaxing days with no paperwork and not lots of people, woman.
Allie - Thinking about you, my dear.
Terri - The river cruises are the only cruises I might go on, so Corey and I did a lot of YouTube research. One of the ones I liked most was
, she does a lot of other types of cruises, too, but did quite a few river cruises. Since we won't go until Corey's retired, we have another six years, at least. Sooooo, we swapped our every day credit card that we pay off each month to a miles card. We figure in six years, we can get enough to at least pay for the plane flights! 😂Not a lot going on outside the house today, but have all my carpet tiles in, so I now have a massive game of Tetris to play, fitting blocks of carpet together in a room, a closet and a hallway that were not built with a straight line anywhere. #RenovatingOldHouses
Corey, bless him, swapped out the kitchen light I got in yesterday, even though I know he was tired. Made me so happy! The old one was doing weird stuff, blinking and acting odd, made me nervous—any electric issue puts me on edge. Now the kitchen is bright and easy to see again. It's also more the style I wanted, vaguely colonial/country kitchen style, as the old one was kind of industrial. It took him 20 minutes.
Don't look at the ceiling around it - it's smaller than what it replaced, as you can see. Once the spare bedrooms are finished, the only rooms left to renovate are the kitchen and the bathroom - and parts of both of them have been done. The ceiling in the kitchen, not so much, unfortunately. But if our usual schedule is anything to go by, it will only take another three or four years to get to!
My neck is still itchy, but I can ignore it for hours on end if I'm absorbed, so I'm going to go play floor Tetris.
Later, y'all,
Love,

😀 Frozen veggies, Gotta read the labels for nutrition info. The ones I buy are only veggies with nearly no sodium. I am not fooled by the ones with interesting spices and sauces that have huge amounts of sodium. It helps that I eat for fuel not for entertainment.
😀 It was a stressful day for the dogs and me. Annie had her annual wellness exam with the vet. We got there on time but they were behind schedule and we waited for 30 minutes. Annie did much better than I expected sharing the waiting room with a standard poodle, a small lap dog, and a cat. She was nervous with the vet, growled quietly at her, and wouldn't even take treats from her. Then the vet figured out that Annie was being protective of me and slipped a leash over her head, led her out of the room and was able to do the exam and vaccines in another room and when they came back, Annie was fine and took several treats from the vet's hand. Later the men came to clean the woodstove and the chimney. The noises of the vacuum and people on the roof and in the house made both dogs nervous so I sat on the couch with Annie next to me and Bessie on the carpet near us. They came in the house several times and had to return later with some extra parts to make the chimney safer. We were all exhausted when they left. Fortunately we don't have to do any of that again for a year.
😀 In the morning, Annie and I walked with my friend who had just come back from a cruise through the NW passage from Nome to Nuuk where the necessary clothing included waterproof jackets and boots—-no fancy dress events.

Lanette … I have not considered a needle tenderizer. The one you linked had good reviews and was cheap, so I put it in my cart and will purchase later today after I look at another 100 or more and then go back to the one in my cart! 😂
Rebecca … breaded tenderloins look good to me, but my son is swearing off all processed food at this point in his journey. I am trying to reduce processed, but I'm not nearly as disciplined as he is … and honestly, sometimes I'm too tired or bored with cooking and like something easy to prepare.
Visited my mom again yesterday and she was fully rational about the book she was reading that caused her such distress on Monday. Wanted to show me that my name was used for one of the characters (along with my deceased son's). The brain is an amazing thing.
I've been eyeing a Fall train trip that will be leaf-peeping near the Finger Lakes in NY. It's a little pricey and would make for a long day as it's about a 2 hour drive to get there … then a 90 minute train ride …and a return 2 hour trip home. Not sure if my husband's back can handle that much sitting. The better tickets serve light refreshments and a "cheese board" among other things. Have to decide soon as the tickets are becoming limited.
Have a good day!

Since I've had to stay in one spot and not do much, I've finished the photos for our July trip.
If you go to the link, among photos of Victoria, Australia scenery, you'll see a number of photos of barrels. I would like to get ahold of some barrels or half barrels in which to plant spring bulbs. I've gone with Plan B this year but maybe on year, I'll find barrels.

I am not keen on the new diary. I will miss my piechart. It was a fun visual! Also the note section isn't great for listing like the old one is. I list my liquids there and then could add them up like a math problem. This new note section doesn't work like that. At least the search section hasn't changed.

I'm getting excited for everyone's upcoming cruises and cruise plans. 🤩 Is Rosemarie on her cruise right now? I see there are Columbia River cruises in my part of the west coast that go up the Snake River as well - quite pricey, some 10 days long or longer. Looks like the amenities are nice and of course the scenery would be spectacular. Mt. St. Helens and retracing some of the Lewis & Clark route. Not on my bucket list, but who knows. No air travel or passports or languages to contend with is a plus.
Heather - love that dress. Can't wait to see a photo of you in it with those darling earrings.
Terri - happy to hear you are feeling better. Your future cruise plans sound exciting.
Machka - sorry to hear you and your DH were under the weather, hope you are on the mend.
September is the month I usually catch some respiratory crud. I'm stocked up on elderberry, garlic, honey, Vitamin C & D. During the pandemic, some research found that gargling with plain old Listerine was proven helpful to knock back the viral load as a preventative and while showing symptoms. I just found out a couple days ago that the nasal spray Azelastine is helpful with Covid symptoms and prevention too. It's a prescription med that docs prescribe for sinus problems. If anyone is interested:
Lisa - I like that new light fixture - what a relief to have something that's not potentially shorting out and causing a huge problem. Whew. Handy Corey comes through once again. I'm sure you'll be happy to get the stitches out, good you had the lipomas taken care of.
Beth - have fun picking out a needler. The one I have is similar to what was in the link, I've had mine for probably 5 years. If the chicken breasts are too thick, you might want to consider butterflying them (cutting in half lengthwise). My needler goes in about 1". I always flip the meat and hit it from the other side. My usual recipe is to then dust with Italian seasonings, and do a quick sauté in a bit of olive oil with a little butter to help the meat brown. Anyhow, something different for you fix.😉 That Fall train trip sounds like fun, great time of the year to see everything.
Making applesauce again today, using different apples this time - Chehalis. Better get crackin.

That looks yummy!👍🏼💖
The meal from Birds Eye I was talking about has a cheesy sauce in it. Probably where all the sodium comes from.🙄
The next time I look at some of the steamable bags, they will be the plain veggies.👍🏼

Rebecca - I'm not sure how you used the old diary to list your liquids? No matter. I see the new one still has the section to record water consumption - maybe you could record all liquids, not just water right there if that's what you are shooting for?
I'm using my laptop. Maybe it's coming up differently for people using phones or tablets.
Also, they are inviting comments and criticisms so it if's a problem, maybe you can let them know. Perhaps others have the same problems you are having.

Today is musubi making day! They are really comfort food for me. I will make just one. My spam slices are in the freezer, and I will have 1/2 of my sticky rice bowls, a T of VeriVeri Teriyaki to saute the spam slice, and will make a scrambled egg slice. Then just press the rice, spam slice, egg anda big more rice into a plastic wrap lined spam container. Wrap the piece in a nori seaweed sheet. Easy peasy.💖
Not sure what else I am having today. Probably some raw veggies and dip, my go to. I do need to eat up a tomato. Maybe a BLT salad, or a taco salad if I make up some taco meat. I bought some nacho chips that are protein based. Just wanted some crunch in a taco salad.
I do have in the freezer a kids tv dinner. It looked healthy and is pasta with some meat in there.

Well, tomorrow is it. I’ll be riding virtually again. Wish I could be there. I couldn’t find a 60 mile ride with the right elevation but I found one that was pretty close. 2959 ft elevation , 55.61 miles, I’ll do 5 extra miles after that. I was going to run but I think I’ll save my legs for tomorrow, already walked the dogs 4 miles. I’ve racked up over 7k miles, not counting today’s miles. After I get my $200 added to my account, that will get me enough to win my jersey again. Let’s do this!
