I feel like my start to this month is so good weight loss wise I'm a bit nervous how the rest of the month will go. Anyone else get like that- almost like you are waiting for the other shoe to drop? It was also such a busy start with my oldest halfling going into Kindergarten and starting both soccer and bowling that I'm wondering if this is stress loss (which never happens to me).

October 4:Total loss for September: Up a half pound this week. Damn. I'm down 1.2 pounds for the year. Not great, but I'm still in a healthy weight range even if it's higher than I want. It's that last ten pounds that seems so tough. I know I can do it. And that's why I will....
Keep sticking to it!

Whelp, it could have been worseβa lot worseβas my eating has been out of control for the past week. Have been trying to backtrack and see what triggered the eating spree but haven't found it yet. Maybe I should forgive myself and move on to better things. Anxiety about overeating does not help. π Also need a reminder that weight loss looks like a curvy tornado rather than a straight line. πͺοΈ
I can't find the original post about weighing yourself daily vs weekly. Here's my spin: I used to weigh weekly but had a lot of anxiety leading up the once per week weigh-in that sometimes resulted in an "omigod!" and eating very little the day before (I know, issues). So, now I weigh in daily and it's more of a check-in with myself, a shrug and an "okay". I mark it down in some fashion then go on with life.

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018. I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full monthβs account.

09/01 --185.0 β (Trend Weight: 184.6) And Just like that I swell up overnight with fluid because I couldnβt take my prescribed water pill (heart condition). Unfortunately it is not always easy come, easy go. Especially when the holiday is today and the BBQ is waiting along with a large family and friend group. Wednesday I will also be traveling a couple of hours each way for a medical appointment. Lunch will be out so thereβs no hope for weight recovery there! I just hope that by the time I weigh on Sunday, there will be some improvement. Good luck in September, my friends. Itβs proving already to be an especially cold early fall in Northern Michigan so far. Highβs the whole upcoming week will only reach the mid 50βs F. Nightime, 30βs and 40βs F. Brrrβ¦.maybe Iβll shiver off a pound or two!
ππππ09/07 β 182.6 β (Trend Weight β 184.7) Lots of ups & downs this past week. On one day I weighed in at 188 so Iβve been fighting all week. My weigh-in on the 2nd was the morning after a BBQ holiday. I also had a day of travel which skewed my weight on Thursday. Iβve been good these last few days as I gear up for overnight medical travel Monday and Tuesday of this week coming up which will skew my weight on Wednesday and keep me fighting for my life until next weekβs weigh-in. An uphill battle ahead for sure, but I can do it. I just get tired of doing it over and over. Travel is the #1 thing that throws a wrench in my plans and I travel quite frequently. Itβs not just the restaurant foods, itβs the sitting, sitting, sitting. My line in my graph is incredibly jagged, but it is still generally going down so I can do this. Hang in there Donna!

Oh my gosh, you are all inspiring me already. I've been on MFP for a hundred years, but in the 13 years I was with my man I went from being the most fit I've ever been, to gaining 60 lbs. So now I'm 60 years old, WAY overweight, but the good news is⦠(drum roll please!) I LEFT the SOB three weeks ago and now have my own delightful apartment half an hour away with my St. Bernard and the kitten I just adopted. Many changes have happened in the last month and I'm ready to reclaim my life, my health, and my self respect. You guys are all part of that.
I love that we're here for each other.

Hello,
Good for you in all of these changes in your life! Part of being healthy is making changes like these. I am going to be 64 just around the corner and can honestly say that late 50's and early 60's for me have been difficult! Especially health and stress wise. I have my own journey of change so I totally get it!
I wish you the best of health and happiness! June

Revising! Welp, I bought a new BIA scale β¦ the same one that member Walela617 uses, and it measures body composition--not just weight but fat, water, muscle mass bmi, etc. After verifying the scale was accurate, I am sadly having to revise my start weight and goals for this challenge. My scale was 2 + pounds off! Some of the other measurements were shocking. I knew I had lost muscle mass over the years and was carrying more fat, but this was sad, even for a 75-year-old. This has inspired me to up my workouts and focus on nutrition more. I am back to the gym lifting weights, though Iβll have to build up slowly to where I was a few years ago. I am also switching to Saturday reporting from now on.
