My cousin is going to start his calorie deficit and he asked me to help him.

I just wanted to share this moment because I felt really happy that they went to me for advice. I felt pressured because I'm not perfect myself and it's only been what? 6 months this 13th since I started eating in a calorie deficit and now they're asking me for help! He's older than me (7 years! And I'm 19) and he really needs to lose weight due to medical reasons and for the first time ever, I made someone else's meal prep. I also felt pressured because I didn't expect to reach a point where they'd think they can trust my judgements (lol this is too silly). I just feel really happy right now because someone recognized my efforts to the point where they can conclude I can be someone they can ask for advice. That's it y'all, have a great day! <3

That's wonderful: It sounds like your personal success shows, maybe even inspires him. It doesn't get better than that.

I think there are ways that you can tell him what you've learned, and give him things to try, while still letting him know that people vary in the details of what works best for them. If you encourage him to be honest about what's working for him, what's not, and what challenges or roadblocks he has - even if he differs from you - that's a good thing.

I think the real deal is that you can get him going, and encourage him to take responsibility to own his own plan and his own choices and behavior.

You're a great cousin to have!

That’s awesome! It says a lot about how much progress you’ve made that your cousin trusts you enough to ask for help. Even if you don’t feel “perfect,” just sharing what’s worked for you can be super encouraging for him. Congrats on hitting 6 months too and that’s a big deal!
