People who have done Warrior dash.
I know many of you have done the Warrior Dash. I see plenty of pictures!
My question to you is. How did you get your pictures done? Is there someone there taking a bunch of pictures and then they upload the picture for everyone to see and you just search for yourself?
Or did you have family/friends taking the pictures during your run.
I'm curious because I think I may be going by myself (and by myself I mean someone not on the sideline to take photos for me), and was wondering how you guys got your pictures!

They have official photogs out there on the day of the Dash taking pictures. Then you will get an email and you look up your pictures via your bib number. Usually they are stationed at the mud pit and the fire jump. However, some of my best pictures are the ones my friends took of me.
If you are going alone, take a camera anyway. They have a "gear check" station you can check your stuff while you are doing the Dash. Have random people take a picture of you before and after, when you are all muddy. That way you have your own pix you can upload, until the official ones are posted.

They have professional photographers stationed at some of the obstacles - particularly the mud pit and the fire jump - and it generally just takes a few days to be able to view them online. There's a link on the Warrior Dash website. Other than that - we've always had friends along to take pictures, and last time I did one some of our friends brought along waterproof disposable cameras to take pictures along the way. Those were fun pics - I'm going to do that next time.0

Oh yea, good point about the waterproof camera! You can get a disposable one fairly cheap and take pix along the way!0

^^This.
I did the Dash with some friends, so all the photos of the event I have are ones we took before and after the race. I didn't buy any of the professional ones. Some were nice, but very expensive, imo. I preferred pics with my friends that I uploaded to Facebook while still at the Dash.0 -
You have to pay for the professional photos? That's kind of lame.0

Thats not too unusual. Just have a family member or friend who is supporting you come take pictures. Worse comes to worse they can drink beer while you (and me and lots of other Minnesotans) are kicking butt.0 -
I'll invite my dad. He will gladly partake in the beer and take pics. :P0

For the Minnesota Warrior Dash, there were only three spots they did professional photos and none of them were at the obstacles. There isn't a good place for family/friends to view the course, other than the start line so unless you or someone running with you brings a camera along, don't expect pictures on the course/obstacles.
Since the big mud pit is just before the finish line, have a someone camped out there to take your pic before you get hosed off. It's the best photo op you'll have! Spectators are free to enter, so that's nice.
I know a lot of people take their camera with them on the course in a ziploc bag or take a disposable, water-proof camera to take while running the course. It all depends on your preference.
Hope to see you at the Minnesota Warrior Dash next year!!0
