Had a great aqua zumba class last night- odd to be getting out of the pool with it almost dark(well past dusk for sure-they turned the lights on around the pool while we were still in class). With that, walking the wetlands and everything thing else- MFP says I burned just over 1000 calories, and I only ate 1100
I will miss aqua- only one more class left. Closed for the summer but I will enjoy my Friday evenings to do what I want.
wrote this this morning and forgot to submit.
Spent the day shopping- like usual. I did pick up a few things for the decorations at the reunion- was hoping for small silk red flowers to go in mini bud vases I got at Black Friday two weeks ago.(got 32 in the case for $10- today, for $8, I got a big bag of small silk roses in red. They are garlands so I will need to cut them but for 10 instead of $70, we will make it work(70 price is Amazon regular prices)3 -
I guess I am a part of the very small club that cuts their own hair.
Last time I had it cut at a shop was 10 yrs ago.
Mine is very long and curly so I put it in a braid, cut the bottom inch or so off and call it good. With it so curly- can't tell if it isn't even. Having it in a braid makes it simple-one cut and done- Did that yesterday.
My hair grows super super slow.4 -
did you send me a friend request today on FB?
That is great, just want to make sure it is you.3 -
Just a quick fly by tonight. We had family visiting for most of today and Iβm bushed π DHβs birthday has been well and truly celebrated.

ππ I relaxed on my exercise bike for almost four hours after a productive morning that included a zoom meeting, two hours of walking, putting the ingredients for chicken with coconut milk and peanut butter in the slow cooker, laundry, vacuuming (it takes longer to pick up the toys, blankets, and pieces of junk too big for the vacuum than it does to run the vacuum), digging up more iris, and eating lunch (tomatoes from my garden with mayo and 3 ounces of chicken breast).
π©βπ¦³My hair style is whatever my hair wants to do. Not being able to go to a salon during the pandemic convinced me that letting my hair grow worked for me.
π Rebecca, I was able to see your diary. Maybe it's because we are friends.
π Tracey, Happy Birthday.
π Pip, wow, one more creative project.
π Heather, by now you've been enjoying the visit from your brother. I hope it turned out great.
π No Facebook for me. I had it for awhile but it seemed to be a big waste of time so I quit.

Tuesdayβs therapeutic massage was brutal. Got more mobility but knee swelled up and hurt. Chiropractor the next day assured me that was the price to be paid for therapy, that 3 days of rest, ice, ibuprofen and elevation would ease the pain. Good thing. Couldnβt even do potty sit to stands βtil today.
Belateld welcome @thawke38 in BC !
Kylia that view lifted my spirits. Thanks! Had to google IBTC. LOL!
Tracey love the sunflower field pics, but oh my, Jonah has GROWN! Hope your honest answer gives Rodger some motivation to join you on that cross country drive. Sometimes we just have to say what WE wantβ¦
Heather and Lisa, yours to Tracey, spot on. Lisa, I find the racerback sports bras comfortable, but I do remember years of the shoulder dents you mentioned. β34 longβ and βfriendly armsβ made me snort my water ;)
Machka the loyalty card I used yesterday brought the cost down from US 32.25 to 19.08 a 40 percent savings, but still too much to pay for 8 cans of soup, a bunch of radishes, an apple and two toilet ducks. Iβm with Tracey, they should just charge the least they can to cover their costs and a reasonable profit and everyone should pay the same without making us all jump through these βsaleβ hoops. Love the spring flowers!
Carol so frustrating about your DHβs endoscopy. Bravissima for putting it all in writing to the cardiologist. Seems like the pulmonologist didnβt even read his charts/medical histories. Glad the anesthesiologist did. We have to fight for ourselves and our loved ones to make sure all the medicos have all the info they need. Prayers the EKG points to something easily repairable.
Carla I feel for you with the impending code change. I was so lucky to be able to retire the year before the company changed everything, operating systems, industry specific programs, email, EVERTYTHING. [shudder]
Margaret you are so right about townhomes and huge assessments for deferred big projects, that happened to Mama and Papa.
Beth sorry to hear about the mattress failure. What a nightmare journey.
Annie ((hugs))
Rita training Lucy to go outside, well done!
Kay G or H, wow! Iβm uncomfortably DDβ¦ ;}
Lanette SWSY 3 times /wk? Bravissima! I find these βLeading Ladyβ light support, cotton, racer back bras comfortable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z18R39R?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
Couldnβt wear those Walmart Ts, polyester makes me sweat ;{
Barbie ββ¦cost isnβt always the best criterion β¦β and βsafety was far more important to me than moneyβ Truth this! Even the value of convenience, did my 3rd only order for pickup at Freddieβs Friday, so far so good. Well done, Annie!
Terri, hooray for the celebratory cruise in July.60 years, WOW!
Debbie sorry the fridge wasnβt fixed, grateful they refunded the charges, but dang. How many days were you without a reliable refrigerator? How many hundreds of dollarsβ worth of food had to be discarded? So glad your DH was calm about having to trim off the trimβ¦ ;)
Allie Iβm with all the others who want you to contact your MD. So many days of vomiting is so hard on you. Think itβs time for all your medicos to put their heads together and pay attention to what each other is prescribingβ¦
Michele I only carry two loyalty cards in my wallet (Freddieβs, BiMart). Grocery Outlet βspecialsβ come on my phone. Never thought to ask for a store card when travelling, but since we have so few stores here in town . . . Sorry C and J have so much to leart about thrift, but how will they learn if you buy the pizza? Just sayinββ¦ Ganon is so lucky to be with you, bless you!
Rebecca belated best anniversary wishes. So glad your MIL is so sweet. βFlip and flopβ LOL!
Mo did I read your DH is coughing up blood? ((hugs))
Pip, Forest was lucky you were there. Bless you!
Rats, only into part of pg 11, mfp is freezing (gateway server timeout), and Iβve been sitting waaay too long. Hope this takes.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

How I wish there was an aqua zumba class!
When I couldnβt go to the salon to get my hair dyed, I realized how much gray there was and I thought it didnβt look half bad so I just never continued to dye it
Barbara β we bought the pizza, but Vince then took the money out of Jβs account so in the end they paid for it.
Hairspray was pretty good. Some of the actors could REALLY sing. Iβm not sorry I saw it.
Balance ball DVD tomorrow, take Ganon for a walk, then go to WalMart.

Wow! Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes.Jonah and I had our annual selfie, no dinner this year his parents are taking him out.
I had lunch out with a friend, so t was impromptu, she asked what my plans were and when I said cleaning and crafting she didnβt think that was acceptable.I did come home and craft a little, I am giving my new car a vibe.
I then cleaned up a bit, my friend with the twins are coming so I wanted to make sure I wasnβt missing anything that they would notice. Iβm sure theyβll still find something children always seem to.
Heather - it feels more like August here and August felt like late September or early October. Weird weather this year.
I hope your brother just wants to see his sister and not bringing upsetting news. Stressful waiting time for you.Lanette - Jonah and I decided last week that Iβm still 43 and heβs somehow managed to make it to 14 without me aging, he told me it must be some multi dimensional math happening. π
Rebecca - I just love Athenaβs scrunched up nose! Sheβs so cute.
Debbie - It sounds like your DH is starting to heal. I hope you and the marriage is as well.
Kylia - I would not be able to rest with a bear that close.
Machka - they do have an ETS bus now that comes to the airport on a fairly regular schedule. The transit here in my city is awful though. They are expanding the train in Edmonton, it currently goes as far South as where Heritage Mall used to be and is currently being built down past that now. Itβs a travelling nightmare right now.
I have actually had success with Great Clips here. Itβs $25.00 with tip. In the middle of a cut my girls will trim my bangs for me.
Kaitlyn doesnβt like cutting my hair but Lauryn has a time or two.
Great Clips takes a lot of apprentices, itβs free labour for them. I always have patience and know that a tip means a lot to them.Lisa - I must have missed where you said you received stitches! Were they a result of the fall or from the dermatologist visit?
I think a lot of people are starting to back away from social media. I hate how it divides people. There is some blocking and deleting happening with my sons-in-law this week. Iβll have to remind them come Thanksgiving that my house is safe and welcoming for both of them. Iβll make a no politics, no religion rule.Rebecca - that cake looks delicious. I actually looked for a small 1-2 serving size cake to have this evening and didnβt see any that caught my eye. Now Iβm thinking maybe an ice cream is in order instead. I sure do love chocolate and peanut butter though. I am not a big sweet eater but occasionally I indulge.
Michele - maybe you would be happier if you just worried about meals for you and Vince and let J and C figure out their own meals and cleanup. She doesnβt seem to do it to your liking or schedule.
My FB is locked down pretty tight. I used to be part of a management team with well over 2000 staff, as their ops and admin manager I met all of them at one point or other. I didnβt want them seeing anything personal about me. Now itβs only about 110 but the same rule applies. They donβt need to see everything I do. I share a lot on there because thatβs how friends and family and I keep in touch a lot.
I have cleaned including scrubbing, laundry, and wiping down cupboards, made KD for supper and watered the flowers. I now have the tub filling, my back is bothering me more than it has in a couple of years. Iβm thinking I need to get a massage in before I go to NB.
I donβt want to be in pain during my trip. This is Jonahβs and my annual selfie.
Off to relax before bed, Iβm going to put laundry away and watch tv I think.

we were without our main fridge working correctly for 3 weeks! We did loose a lot but because I am a very frugal shopper- A lot of our groceries are from Grocery Outlets(we have 5 within 20 minutes of us-two being right here in town). We only buy a few things at Safeway(where dh works), only when marked down or on sale. We also shop at Walmart but not a lot. We have a great Asian store called 168 that we go to often. Got dinner there tonight- fresh salmon filets, eggplant and mushrooms and rice

Took DGS out to a late lunch for his birthday. His actual birthday is Sept 20 but I will be gone then so we celebrated today. His favorite thing is eggs benedict so we went to a place that does breakfast all day.
Choir tomorrow morning, the first time this fall. Glad to be back singing.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Lisa: I hope you are recovering okay!
Machka: Glad to see your recovering!
Heather: I hope all went well with your brother. i purchased Celosia and Salvia yesterday. Both names of plants I did not know before. I hope I can remember the names. I love the picture of your flowers! A partner that cooks! How great and wonderful is that!
Kylia: I love your shoes! I have been 1x to Pigeon Forge. Hope to go back!
PIPCD: I would get should of breath doing a 9:40 minute mile. I try and maintain a couple of miles at 20 minutes a mile. I do have some ankle weights I want to wear more often!
Tracey: Happy Birthday! I took sailing lessons in the. 80s. Great memories!
Debbie: A lot happening but your DH seems to be feeling well!
Michele: Good idea about an excellent treat for your dog. Mine has gotten so he does not want to ride in the car. A couple of weeks ago it was raining while we were in the car and he got very scared. And I think maybe cold. I hope this memory fades for him. He does enjoy the dog park and I want to keep taking him there. My dog is 10.5 pounds/a poodle. He is a joyβ¦mostly!
I only went back 3 pages. Hope everyone is well. Still volunteering at the pantry and working with an environmental advocacy group and helping with the adult learning group! Been doing yoga for strength and at home I do a little yoga for aerobics. I pay about 50 dollars for a haircut and a cut and color is about 80 plus the tip. Last year I only had my hair colored 1x. The blonde mixes with the gray well enough for me!
Somehow my To Do list is keeping me very busy. I think I am getting more caught up now!
I have been listening to the History of Rome through the Great Courses to prepare for my 1 night in Rome.
I relax best to de-cluttering and organizing podcasts. I find them very motivating! I love, love having my house decluttered!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Allie! Please get to hospital!
Close up of my mountain view this morning. So many! I love the way they just seem to move.
Slept until 730 this morning! It has been a long time since I have gotten over 7hrs of sleep in a night and last night was almost 8 hrs! I have 50 pgs to finish the first book I have read in a year. I love to read but feel social media has taken over. This trip i have scrolled less, read more.
Lisa- Glad you are feeling better.
Bears - we are pretty sure her den is behind the cabin behind us. We are careful to leave no food in vehicles and to lock them. Feeding wildlife is a death sentence for them. The length of the hibernation cycle for bears varies based on winter temperatures. In this region they have a short sleep because the winters are warmer and food sources remain abundant.
Congratulations!
Hugs!
Cheers!
Prayers!
Love,

After 3 nights with about 12 hours of sleep each night, and after resting most of the time throughout the day β¦
I had a small burst of energy today and was able to
- hang my laundry outside (where it is currently being dried by a ferocious wind*)
- pull the dead leaves etc. off from around most of the red hot pokers (that is a job that needs to be done about once a week for a few weeks until they're all fresh)
- use the hand-held vacuum to suck up half a cat in shed fur and quite a lot of dust.
Over the weekend, I also finished sorting the home office into major categories AND organised my art stuff. However, I need a shelf built to house the art stuff. I have the shelf β¦ it's staring at me β¦ but I didn't have the energy to build it.
Starting tomorrow morning, I work 5 days β¦ and I hope I'm up for it!
*The wind is gusting up to 80 km/h (50 mph) lower down where we are, and 120 km/h (75 mph) up on the mountain. Our front door is taking the force of the wind and is creaking and groaning, and I can hear things moving around the back yard.

Allie - Keep us posted, please. Worried about you.
Rosemarie, Kylia - Thank you.
Sue - Hope your trip is wonderful, and that Tootsie recovers well. Having anyone else in my space always throws me for a loop, too! I'm becoming quite attached to my routines and rituals.
Tracey - The stitches are from the dermatologist removing a couple lumps. I get them out tomorrow (now that I've remembered what day it is), and looking forward to it. Could have pulled them out myself, but couldn't see them where they are - back of the neck and toward the back of my right ankle. Not flexible enough for the ankle, and can't accomplish anything at all holding a mirrorβ¦ π
Just wandering around the Internet looking at things that make me want to sew them, draw them, paint them, crochet them all⦠but was just astounded by this little piece.
I find so much happiness in this simple line drawing that is not simple at all⦠It's titled "Zoomies," of course, and the artist can be found at
This is just one among many other wonderful ones. While I was fairly immobile, I got this finishedβ¦ It's a gift for my best friend, so I can't post it anywhere else! The hood is oversized, and it doesn't quite fit around the bottom because it's made exactly to her measurements, and she's almost 8 inches taller than I am. She has a neck that I don't haveβ¦ and though we weigh almost exactly the same amount, I pack it into a much smaller vertical space. It's gotta go somewhere! π₯°π
Time to do something elseβ¦
Later, y'all,
Love,

Grandmallie: Hoping your medical team can find some answers and solutions.
Lisa: I love the shade of yarn!
Kylia: We drove to Pigeon Forge one night and drove through the Smokey Mountains with snow on the road. I was rather nervous about it. But my husband seemed to enjoy the driving. I purchased a sports themed light switch cover plate and I am looking at it as I type!
Carol: The cruise is coming up! I think all the paper work is complete. I am half packed! I got a time share vacation offer to go to Savannah for 3 nights and will do this in December. I have not seen Christmas in Savannah and hope to explore the books stores and coffee shops. Savannah has a large Book Festival each year and it is on my bucket list to do this some year. My son was just there and the weather was beautiful!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

OooOooh, pretty! I looked closely and you can see the chain necklace of the banister.π. Looks like it was hot glued and on the glue parts they painted a shimmery silver. It kind of ties it all together. But you can see individual pieces if you look close. That's cool!

It's a drizzly day on the island today. Dark skies, and dismal a wee bit. I do not have any pen pals to write amazingly! Might touch base with youngest to see how he is doing on his meds this week for C Diff. Ask him when his next doctors appointment is.
I have a sausage patty out thawing, as well as a slice of bread, I keep my bread in the freezer because I dont have it that often. Lunch is a fried egg, with those. For dinner I will have my meat lovers Quest pizza. I get to have two slices, as 1/3rd of the pizza is a serving. Will have some raw veggies with a movie during the afternoon. Husband is having a brat and baked beans tonight. Its a lazy, gray day!

Terri - sounds like your DH had a nice birthday. π Hope you can get rested up.
Kylia - so glad you are enjoying this vacation and getting some much needed rest. Your mountain view is gorgeous.
Tracey - like your new car vibe!
Barbara - that was some therapeutic massage, good to hear you are doing better. I put in that Amazon bra link and it came up earbuds, lol. Not sure I could make those work. Seriously, I searched "Leading Lady" and lots of choices came up. Is the one you were talking about front closure? There are some that do look comfy.
Allie - good to hear Dan will be taking you down to Yale. We are worried about you! I probably skipped over you are due for parathyroid surgery? Did I read that right?
I cooked up some quinoa and red lentils in the rice cooker and it turned out better than I expected. I had added some salt, dehydrated garlic and onion plus a tablespoon of tomato paste, it was just about right. Recipe called for 1/2 c rinsed quinoa and 1/4 c rinsed red lentils, and 1 1/4 c water. It made a lot - some will probably end up in the freezer.
Reminder - tomorrow is Weekly Check-in for those participating.π
