I guess I do things a bit different than some here as far as meal planning/shopping.
We go to the store, see what is on sale or looks good and plan meals around that.
There are a few things we do pick up regularly.
We are heading to Walmart first today. Usually we go to Grocery Outlet(both of them) first.
Next we will go to 168 which is our huge Asian market.
We may go to the GO down town as we didn't go there on Saturday-Sometimes I go with a menu planned but it is usually going to get a few small things to go with what I already have.
Like if we get pork chops at Walmart, I will pick up what ever we are having to go with it, if I don't already have it at home. I need to do better at using what we have and not just keep buying more stuff.learning to cook smaller amounts now that son isn't home(but he does like to stop by and get leftovers when I do cook too much-many times I cook extra on purpose for them). Dh is terrible about eating leftovers.

Hello, my friends,
Well, I took my mom to our doctor last week, and she slept through most of it. She comes alive in the car. I have a playlist designed specifically for her. Music speaks to her soul. I love the songs too. So we had fun. Then I received an emergency call from Madison Home Place, stating that they were sending her to the emergency room. I told them that I will take her. So I showered, got Rose to daycare, and then went to get my mom. The Nurse Practitioner caught me and said that someone overreacted. Her SATs were 92%. I told the NP that when my mom acts like that, she has a UTI. I convinced my mom to pee in the nun's cap, but she totally missed it. I repositioned it for later. I need to check on her now. I explained that the doctor had prescribed her respiratory nebs to the pharmacy, and they were pulling them out of the bag. She has been fine ever since. MIL, on the other hand, had a stroke and had to go into memory care. Well, she hated it and felt like it was too restrictive, so she flew to Atlanta to stay with her daughter. She is happy for now.September 2, my baby boy turned 24, and September marks 29 years of marriage. DH has interviewed times 2 for King Coil and has one more interview with the president. He didn't even apply. They found him. Hope it works. There is another group that has put him in the final stage of the interview process—funeral planning sales. He will take the job with the first employer to offer him a position.
As for me, I took a break from being healthy and ate some fries and cookies. Now I am back on the program. I took a break because the scale wasn't moving. I was frustrated.
Carol, I am worried about you and DH. How is it going?
Allie, I hope you get your phone charged so you can keep us updated. I feel more at ease with you in the hospital, to be monitored. I love your grand pictures. How are your electrolytes?
Rosemarie, I am so glad your daughter is coming over to cook and look after you. How was your trip?
Barbie, I love your insight on Michelle. I hope Jake's ashes arrive safely.
Margaret, Happy Birthday!
Heather, you did it! The visitors sound like they had fun, and so did you. Rest up so you're ready to travel and visit G.
Lisa, I love the vibrant colors of the kitchenware you made for your DS.
Pip, are you training currently, now that you are back from Vegas?
Matchka, I do my own hair. I color it, clip the ends, and I am happy. I would go to the beauty shop, pay all that money, and either redo my hair or spend all day there because the beautician was late. Then, I'd socialize on the phone. One time, they were talking so much that my scalp was burning. I offered to rinse my own hair out. One time, I was desperate to pick up my kids and left with wet hair. I am not paying anyone to stress me out again. I let my hair grow out, because it is easier to maintain than a short, cute haircut. I wear a ponytail all the time anyway. It works with my time management as well.
Tracey, I need to stop looking at hair length to determine a person's sex. Guys are wearing long hair now. Well, your grandson is handsome, and Mikala is stunning. Plan your road trip, and I bet Rodger will go, especially if you take your grands.
Sorry for the long post. 😅
XO,
MO
PS: Hi Okie, Barbara, Flea, Lanette, Rebecca, Beth, Ginny, Terri, Rori, Carla, Kylia, Michelle, Debbie, and whoever else I missed.

If you get joy out of giving all your treats out, then that's all that matters!💖. If it ever becomes a financial burden, or a chore, then that's not good. I don't send homemade things in the boys boxes because if it has chocolate, it has a tendency to melt. This year will be interesting!

Well, same weigh since 9-11, I guess if anything I am consistent. I have a good relationship with my scale. My clothes are showing large losses, which are as good in determining weight loss. My brain though, it does try to rationale it to "my clothes must've stretched". I have to pay attention to that and be more logical. Noticing changes.
Today I am fixing an egg salad sandwich, with a coffee protein shake. Dinner is raw veggies with dressing, a couple of pub battered cod, and my tomato drink. I had bought a container of V8 low sodium 5.5 oz cans. I was disappointed! Very bland. So I bought a bottle of original V8 bloody Mary mix. I mix the can with some of the mix. Interestingly enough its still less sodium than the normal cans of V8 juice. Today I am mixing 4 oz of the mix with the 5.5 oz can. I will make my " medicine ball" tea in the afternoon. Snack is some sugar free Jello and a Celsius drink.
Is it wrong to eat a whole red bell pepper a day?😂. Gosh I love those things! Its a sweet, crisp veggie and I have yet to tire of it.
Today I had 3 sun sweet prunes. Plus 2 fiber gummies. I also take two gummies for Hair, Nails and Skin. I could just eat all my vitamins, herbal meds all as gummies, just a morning handful!😂. My sugar numbers would not be great though!
Hugs to all!

How one thing leads to another.
Groomer retired, selling off shop equipment. Offered me a sturdy, 48” long grooming table like the one that’s been on my Amazon wish list since 2021 for only $50. (Price in 2021 was 124, now down to 108.) Sold! Where to put it? One thing in, one thing out. Asked Joe which table he preferred, the antique one in the dining room, or the vintage one in my study. He had no preference so I opted to donate the antique (in better condition really) and move the vintage to the dining room so I could set up the grooming table in the study. He even helped me disassemble it and load it into the car. Humane Society Thrift store was glad to get it, said it was in great condition, called it a nice donation. Joe was happy with the switch, he often banged his knees on the antique’s central tripod legs, the vintage legs are on the sides and give greater chair opening.
Getting ready for Corvallis trip, ordered a foam driver’s seat cushion, and a foldable stair. Tumble weighs 32 pounds and while I can lift her, her lower half dangles. That would not be good post-surgery. Set up the stairs to the new grooming table, Tumble went up easily but down was harder for her. Mooch got the idea right away, anything for treats. This morning they both went up and down twice, good dogs. This afternoon I’ll set up in the parking area to get her into and out from the car. Practice, repeat, repeat.
Belated best birthday wishes, dear Tracey! Brava for your maiden sailing voyage.
Carol praying your DH’s echocardiogram points to a quick and painless fix. When is your back procedure?
Kylia that mobile recliner made me smile. Your bear-proof trash can cage worked! That bear was just tooo close to those cars. Lovely twilight pic.
Teri I never imagined a yucca would survive, much less thrive in Ireland’s climate!
Pip wish there was a “love” button I could click under your paint project <3
Machka love the kitty in the window. How do you and Rowan get on with your neighbors?
Rebecca I can see your diary ;) That peanut butter chocolate birthday cake pic was evil ;}
Debbie it makes my heart glad that your DH was able to work with you and not get angry. He is progressing! [‘boutdamtime ;} ] Also glad the food loss was not a big financial hit. Think we’re already FB friends? Okra? YUCK!
Lisa (gentle hugs held extra long) Know you must really have been hurting to keep the energizer bunny down. ;} That “Zoomies” drawing is so compelling… artist really knows cats. Gorgeous hoodie, your bff is one lucky gal. Yes, the mowing can wait. ((hugs))
Lanette, how long did you cook the qinoa/lentil in the slow cooker? “earbuds”? LOL. Try this: Leading Lady Serena
Terri belated best birthday wishes to your DH.
Barbie “ I relaxed on my exercise bike for almost four hours” made me laugh out loud. NEVER would have thought 4 hrs on exercise bike would be relaxing ;) I’m with you though about hair, mine does what it does and I don’t have it cut or styled. Like with fashion, I aim for the low bar of “clean…( and covered.)” Yours to Michele, truth!
Tracey, gotta love that multidimensional math ! Now please just find that Tardis for us, ok?
Sue hooray for choir!
Rosemarie so happy to hear you so busy and involved. Looking forward to going along with you on your trip!
Allie thankful you went to the ER and were admitted. Hope they keep you until they can get all your medicos together to figure out what next steps are. Wouldn’t want to wait weeks for a surgery that MIGHT address one issue… ((hugs)) Surely the someone at the hospital can loan you a phone charger?
Margaret love your haircut and your smile. Can you somehow transfer the books you bought onto the new Kindle?
Michele glad to hear Vince charged J&C for the pizza. I could never share cooking duties with someone who’s planning and cleanup style was so different from mine ;{
Mo, thankful I misunderstood and your DH is ok.
Heather thankful for your great visit with your brother and SIL. Family catchup is crucial, but glad Johnny had a getaway “out”… ;} Love your brother’s style. Your men wear their hats well.
Machka don’t think that method of defrosting chicken would be to my taste, but then you like canned chicken breast and I do not. . . ;) Would love to see your cat drawings when you do.
Time to walk the pack down to the powerline meadow. Then to set up the portable stairs into the car so Tumble can practice, practice, practice! Mooch hops up them in a heartbeat, anything for a treat!
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Sue in WA - Had a good week last week. Down about one half pound. Came down with sinus infection and flying to San Diego on Wednesday so went to doc and am on antibiotics plus she suggested decongestant for the flight. Looking forward to lots of walking and pool time this week.
Lanette in SW WA State – Weight in range, logging daily. Average daily steps this past week: 6832, up a bit from last week. Continuing early morning walks outside and walking after meals, carrying weights. Will be curious to see if all this walking helps my A1C. SWSY 3X per week. Increasing ankle weights to 10#. It’s helping my balance and stair climbing. Persevering.

Wow, I just read. Barbara, you are going with Rosemarie on her trip. That is awesome and so much fun.
As for bras (I forgot to comment on that). I don't wear bras at home. I do wear them when I am out and about. I did go through a phase where I was working without a bra. I just wore an undershirt. Then I saw a pic of myself and realized that I looked ridiculous, so I ordered all kinds of bras and decided sports bras were my best friends. I just ordered more. I love them. I had a breast reduction when I was 21. I was a "P" cup. There was a time when I wore a size 16-20 top and size seven pants. I had to purchase my bras at Alice Undercover World. They were priced between $50.00 and $100.00 each. I was active in sports and loved racquetball. I would play, and then I would hear a pop, realizing my $50.00 brazier had broken. Even though my boyfriend at the time was mad about the surgery, I was relieved after it was done. They took 8 pounds off of each side. Now I am a C cup, and bras are much cheaper.
Hi Sue!
Allie, I am glad you are in the hospital being cared for. Looks like they are having fun at Wolf Lodge, except for Kyle, who was carrying Smelia around.
Have a great day,

John went to cricket, but there was no play because of high winds. They couldn't get the covers off the pitch. He got home around 2 pm. Hove Station footbridge has had its canopy blown off and all through trains are cancelled. Trees down. I hope it's repaired by Wednesday! Which is going to be wet.😫
I am utterly exhausted. My Zoom friends want to meet up in London in November, staying at P's. I've told them I can only commit to one day trip. I hope my energy revives, because right now I am pole axed.
I just love my quiet life. When I do other things, I can't do my writing. That's essential for my well-being.
Bea pick up tomorrow. That's as much excitement as I need!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Just a quick note for those of you on Facebook with me, I did decide to go ahead and delete it. It has become a place that is detrimental to my mental health, and it was time. There are too many of us that live without it for me to think I will miss it much…
Stitches all removed, itchiness all resolved, and the earlier stomach upsets also all resolved. Had to go back and re-do all the buttons on that cardigan, I had put ones on that were too small and too widely spaced, and just all wrong. Happier with the replacement. Just starting on my next project and enjoying my quiet afternoon.
Ha! And there was Corey's call, reminding me I need to get jacket potatoes in the air fryer…
Love y'all,

Worked then took Ganon on a walk. Went bowling, first game of the season. As usual, I stunk
Made chocolate cupcakes for another day.
Christmas treats: I try to make things that can be frozen. After the holidays, I just freeze it for use later. And what only I will eat gets given away
barbie – thank you for the kind words
Margaret – that is so horrible! That was so thoughtful of you to put the flowers on their porch
Okra – took the rest of it to BK for anyone
I must say that with having to make extra food (desserts – and you know how I love raw dough), my weight has been staying steady, in the130’s. Maybe taking Ganon for all those walks helps. I do hope,
Mo – a friend of mine has a mastectomy, the main reason is because she has a marker for cancer. Anyway, she used to joke that her boobs got in the way of her bowling. The first game after her surgery was high (for her). So she went to her father “see, I told you all I needed was smaller girls”
Off to take Ganon for a walk

yes, it is about damn time!!! Not great but so much better than before.
Yes, we are friends onFBHaha- I know many don't like okra- I have always had and loved it fried and mom's pickles.
Had it in gumbo when I lived in Mobile,AL and LOVE that(need to make some again. Mine isn't as good but it is pretty close). Haven't had it that I didn't like.4 -
Allie - it would be nice if they could move the surgery date up for you.
Heather - I’m glad your brother wasn’t bringing bad news.
It sounds like a great visit.Rosemarie - it’s so nice to have your son visit.
Barbie - I agree about Michele being frugal.
Lisa - I love the idea of the sweater being washable and dryable! I’m sorry to see you leave FB.
Margaret - I’m sorry your neighbour had a loss. It will be an adjustment for her.
Rebecca - I can’t think what would be wrong in eating a bell pepper a day. It’s your version of an apple. Maybe it keeps the doctor away.
Barbara - It sounds like the dogs are willing to learn, hope that it helps.
I had an interesting day. I think I mentioned that I needed to see a dentist about my burning tongue. I went to see a dentist today, he thinks that I just have it inflamed from trying to make it feel better. I keep rubbing it on my teeth. So I keep making it not be able to heal. He recommended a cleaning, and I have to go next Tuesday to get two fillings.
My back is killing me. I’m hoping my massage tomorrow really puts it back in order. I can’t imagine sitting on a plane for 5 hours feeling like this.I think maybe my chair that I bought to help heal my hip is starting to wear out so it doesn’t have the support I need.
Off to bed

We all do things differently in how we shop, cook, plan or just wing it. No judgement here. Taking stock of what you do have to avoid stockpiling is my only hint. Its just that one step before you do go to the store. Life doesn't require us to be perfect, just to try our best. My best can look different from day to day. Its human nature.👍🏼😁

This was parked outside our house today. Next door is obviously having a clear out! Don't we all need one of these? :-) I felt like slipping them some extra cash and getting them to take a couple of bulky items, but I didn't. I wonder how much it cost her. Perhaps we could share next time.

Something like that windscape would be a lovely abstract painting, all on its own. It does look like your island is right in the firing line, yes! We've already gone through "false fall" and then someone threw another log on the fire - we have a few more days of heat and then the summer is supposed to finally start letting us loose, beginning Thursday/Friday. I'm ready for some cooler temps, just as you're getting ready for spring… I always find that so marvelous.
That's from the Windy site:
We have been blasted by 100 km/h winds again today and it looks like we've got at least 2 more of these things at the moment.
The red swirlies in the picture travel left to right (west to east). So we're in the midst of one now (see little heart-shaped Tasmania), and we've got two more to the left. But of course, at this time of year, they just keep coming.
At some point, maybe in October, they'll drop further south.
I find the Windy site fascinating.
And yes, it is spring here!

Machka love the kitty in the window. How do you and Rowan get on with your neighbors?
Good. My husband is quite social since his accident so he has gotten to know the people around, and so have I. He always wants to know people's names. So he'll spot someone walking by and ask them their name.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I had another swimming lesson today. I missed one last week - too sick. But this time, I swam a couple lengths freestyle, then did the survival backstroke, and finished by attempting the breaststroke.

Barbara - that new (for you) grooming table sounds neat. Great idea getting Tumble used to using those stairs. I agree, treats work! Thanks for the bra link - I ordered one, let's see how it is. Even with the $8.99 shipping and handling, it was still a few dollars cheaper than the same one on Amazon. I cooked the quinoa/lentil concoction in my little 4 cup rice cooker, didn't use the crockpot. But the videos I watched on using a crockpot to cook rice (and probably quinoa/lentils too) recommended at 2 - 3 hours on low.
Mo - crossing fingers your husband gets the job with King Coil. Neat that they found him. He'd be great at the other job too. 😉 Wow, 8# per side. Don't blame you for getting that reduction surgery. Happy Birthday to your son and Happy upcoming Anniversary.
Allie - love the photos of Delia and SMiles, looks like they are having a grand time. Glad they kept you overnight and you're being taken care of.
Grocery shopping - when I was working, I didn't pre-plan meals a lot, maybe a day ahead. I drove by the Safeway every day and Walmart was close to where I worked so I could easily grab things. Now that I don't drive to town every day, I try to plan a week ahead and cook things I can eat three days in a row or throw into the freezer, and to save $$ on gas. I filled up the car the other day. Price jumped $.50 a gallon, so I paid $4.34 per gallon at the cheap station. WA doesn't have income tax so that's one reason for the jump, more taxes. Luckily the old Camry gets around 30 mpg.
We're supposed to see a final blast of heat today - probably 90F here.
