WOW, just looked at how many calories you burn by jumping rope and I HAD to buy a nice jump rope.
I know I can come up with a bunch of jump rope time throughout my boring days...such a short amount of time to really burn up those calories, I'm excited. I'm going to try 30 minutes a day in addition to my 30DS.

I do about 30 min and it's killer! I still have trouble going 2 min at a shot before getting gassed.

Ya but you are doing it and logging those minutes! I'm surely not going to do 30mins non-stop. I can tell that right away lol.

On here, it estimates 30 min is worth 409 calories.

Just got home from my skipping rope class!!! What an incredible cardio work out you can get in two minute increments!!! I feel so uncoordinated, but each week am getting a bit stronger/better. My shin hurts tonight, tho, we had one marathon skip to try and go five minutes. Didn't make it, but tried.

It took me a few weeks to work up to 40 continuous minutes. I burned a lot of calories at first, but as I got better, the cals dropped. I ended up burning only 300 for 30 minutes. I can burn almost twice as much in the same time with a nice hilly run.

It's great exercise. Go for it!!!

    You are a monster!!!
I insert 2minute bursts (jump rope, push ups and jumping jacks) between strength training sets to keep my heartrate up.
I have never gone beyond 10-minutes straight of jumping rope though.
    wow.

10 minutes is all I can manage. And even then, I have sore calf muscles the next day! And it's not as though I don't use my legs much normally - I do over an hour of cycling and 45 minutes of hill-walking just about every day.
