British? Not so much. Most posters here do seem to reside in the British Commonwealth.

Oh no @SummerSkier I hope you have a mild case.
@username301 @tarun_yadavA is in London.
@John772016 Great job on your race, and what an inspiring story.
There are also so many awesome photos on this thread. I love to see where everyone is running.

I ran 11 miles this morning. It was pretty hot again today. Fall is not here yet. But it was a good run. The last 3 or so miles were kind of tough, but I made it.

Hi guys,
I'm completely out of the loop on the posts and how everyone is getting on. My Mum went into hospital at beginning of the month and my routine has been turned upside down. I'm fitting in exercise no matter how little where I can as it keeps me sane and grounded. I'm going for 50+ miles running, 170 miles bike and yoga everyday if possible. My month so far:
07/09 3.20 miles run - 8.12 miles bike
08/09 2.61 miles run - 6.12 miles bike - 20 mins yoga
09/09 3.12 miles run - 6.13 miles bike - 20 min yoga
10/09 No run - 6.14 miles bike - 20 mins yoga
11/09 2.85 miles run - 6.25 miles bike - 22 min yoga
12/09 2.85 miles run - 8.12 miles bike - 26 min yoga
13/09 3.32 miles run - 8.13 miles bike - 23 min yoga

5 miles last night. It was okay, legs were a bit tired. I'm planning to get in 5 more tonight so I'm half way through halfway through the month.

@Mari33a will keep your Mum and you and family in my prayers. Hoping all goes well and that she recovers soon. ((Hugs))
Sorry to hear about the Covid @chris_in_cal & @SummerSkier!! Sounds like you’re on the mend Chris and hopefully you as well bON.
Catching up on posts…. So many of you are having amazing runs! Great job to all, even the wun and walkers!
6 -
That's a great pace on the 10K @Zaxa2021 . Congratulations.
That sounds like, and looks like, an amazing run @ContraryMaryMary !
Oh no @SummerSkier . Sorry to hear this. I do hope you have a mild case and the rest does your foot and knee good.
Great improvements @username301 . I think there are a couple of other Brits here - @tarun_yadava for sure and seems there is someone else.
@John772016 You did great on the 10K with all of those issues. It's amazing since there was the possibility that you wouldn't even be able to walk 6 years ago. That is an amazing story about Terry Fox. So sad that his cancer spread to his lungs and he didn't get to see what he started become such a success.
Great job @yirara . There is no shame in walking. I hope you were able to relax with a nice cold drink later.
Great long run @kgirlhart .

Great consistency @swenson19d .
@Mari33a So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she is improving. You are doing great to get exercise in.
You're doing great @Zaxa2021 .

Great running everyone.
115 of 225 kms for the month.
Friday was a recovery day so A Walkin' We Will Go.
Saturday's planned long run became short as I tanked, bailed at 17.5k. Just didn't have the energy. Basically bonked. Need to work on fueling. Rested a bit (ok a lot) then made up another almost 2k after. Good to learn this run/stop/seize up/run again feeling.
Sunday was supposed to be a make up day for Saturday's short, but the left foot's arch decided it needed orthotics. Probably because I was babying the instep trying not to aggravate the arthritis. Sigh. Aging. Sleep last few nights has been horrible. HRV is dropping like a stone and RHR is climbing.@John772016 from worried if I would be able to walk to running a 10k. Jeez dude, give yourself a pat on the back 😋 Here's a pat anyways, good job 😛
@Mari33a sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she is doing better.
Saturday evening at least was nice.
(Nerd post)
HRV status dropping like a stoneGarmin telling me to sleep more, which I did sunday but still didn't help 🙄

I didn't sleep well last night, and I wasn't really feeling it this morning. So I decided to throw some fartleks into my run. That made the run more fun and by the end, I was really enjoying it and I ran 6 miles and was speedier than most of my runs have been lately.
@Mari33a Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she is feeling better soon.

@WarmJellyfish Sorry you had a hard time over the weekend. That view is spectacular. As for the spoiler, you hit the Paragraph button the the side and then the quote's symbol. Unfortunately, the last big update they did won't allow you to put pictures under the spoiler.
Glad the fartleks made your run enjoyable and speedy @kgirlhart .

I played doubles tennis this morning with the more chatty group. It was fun.
I worked after tennis and didn't get home until almost 6 pm, so didn't really have time for a lot. I did a driveway wun before eating dinner - first mile was barely fast enough to call a run (14:08 min/mile). Avg HR was 133 with a max of 152 bpm.
Cute story from daycare. A little 2 year old came up to me and said, "I'm so glad I got to see you again." Awwww. He's melts your heart. (I wasn't working in his class today.)

Just a quick update.
I missed a day of walking in the afternoon and I might miss a few more depending on how this illness progresses, but I think the Paxlovid altho it tastes awful for hours after taking it is working. My HR which was SO elevated the first 2 days was almost back to normal (maybe the virus is getting whacked by the meds!) and I did not have a fever this morning. My head is still stuffy like a head cold so I am not counting anything out and I have heard this virus likes to cycle good and bad and fool you in to thinking you are done and then come back so I am not going to push anything for the rest of the month. As Quilter says it will probably be a good break for the rest of my body from running altho I think it will be hard to start up again and I will need to be careful not to overdo it when I do.
Reading everyone's updates and missing Tarun's Vegas adventures posts…… <spoiler!>
5 -
@SummerSkier sorry you are still feeling like 💩 Hope the Paxlovid continues to help.
@Mari33a Sorry to hear about your mom. Hoping for a quick recovery.
Had zero pain in calf the last couple of days, so went out for a slow run this morning. It started tightening up around mile 2, so I stopped at 2.3 miles and stretched a little, then turned around and headed home. It got a little better on the way home, but still tight and feeling a little pinch when walking. Might have to do some more rehab on the TM.

I will slowly catch up on everyone! Saw some lovely picures as I scrolled back to the begining of time to find my last post LOL
I have been dragging this past week or so. Everyone in my office is sick and our contract does not offer sick leave and no one wants to burn PTO…at least they wear a mask to keep their snot to themselves LOL. DH and I seem to have dodged it but motivation has been low.
We are both doing well on calorie tracking, I don't think we have lost much yet. I am getting better on my WOG'ing. Yesterday my calves didn't lock up at all…maybe it has finally turned!?! Only took a year LOL. @quilteryoyo I think you did the T-10 Miler a long time ago? I saw a sign for one here and thought of you! Also @quilteryoyo we got our building permit last week :)
I am off to find coffee..power has been out for nearly 12 hours…Have a great rest of the week!

I’ve joined the did-not-sleep-well club. Usually I have no problem but last night my body was not cooperating. Even when I told it we had to get up at 4:00 am. 😏Posting four days of activity. On Saturday, I ran 9 miles on the Creeper Trail (another rails-to-trails) with a couple of friends. It was a beautiful morning and we went to the Farmer’s Market and a coffee shop afterwards. On Sunday, I joined a group hike to the Great Channels (photos below). It was a 7.4 mile round trip hike. Once at the top of the mountain, you could drop down into the rock formation and walk/crawl around. Yesterday was a rest day with a 1.52 mile walk at lunch. This morning, I met a couple of friends and we ran 5 miles before work.
@John772016 – Great job on your races this weekend. Amazing considering that nerve pain you had to deal with.
@Mari33a – I hope your mum is doing better. Kudos to you for getting in your workouts.
@SummerSkier – I hope you are feeling better very soon. Glad you are taking it easy and giving your body what it needs to recover.
Great running everyone and I’m loving everyone’s pictures!

I thought I was going to have to shorten my run today. I got up a little late, and we had a potluck lunch and queso contest at work today so I was kind of pressed for time. My plan called for a HM pace run. I was just planning on running 5 miles, but I forgot to turn when I needed to and went further than I intended. I ended up running 6 miles. Ok, I ended up with 5.71 miles, but I couldn't do that, so I ran around the block to even it up. 😁
Today at the luncheon, a coworker told me that she and her kids see me running in the mornings with my lights. Apparently, I am the highlight of their drive to daycare every morning. She said her kids say "look mom, it's the running lady with the lights" and they look for me every day. They were really impressed when she told them she works with me.

Nice running @username301 .
@SummerSkier I hope you continue to feel better and don't go through the up and down cycles.
@Scott6255 I'm glad you calf is doing some better and hope you don't have to spend too much more time on the TM.
@CMorning99 Great job on the calorie tracking! I hope you both avoid getting the crud. Sounds like your wogging is coming along well. Yeah for getting your building permit. What a long ordeal that has been for you! I hope your power has come back on. Yes, I did the T-10 miler in FL for the last three years. I'm debating on whether I'm going to do it this year again or not. I had wanted to do it every year as long as I could, since I did the first one, but it's just so darn hot and really not as fun as I had hoped it would be. So, we shall see.
Lots of great activity over the weekend @Teresa502 ! Those hiking photos are awesome, but as I said on Strava, that would probably trigger my claustrophobia.
Great unintentional 6 miles @kgirlhart AKA running lady with lights! I love that. Did you win the queso contest? BTW, if you do have a good recipe, I'd like to have it. I've only tried to make queso dip once and it was horrible. LOL

I had intended to do a semi-long run this morning before my pest control guy got here, but he came earlier than usual AND then we talked longer than we should have, so I was short on time.

Hello, I’m a bit hopeless at regular posting at the minute.
5km yesterday on heavy legs - DOMS from my Sunday long run kicking in I’m guessing. Garmin says it was a recovery run but I can promise you it wasn’t. Recovery runs should be in zone 1 and this was zones 2 and 3.
Pilates and 3.3k again today. Garmin says I was peaking after Pilates (which I certainly wasn’t as I am in no condition to race), and then productive after my run (how kind, and probably accurate).
I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
7 -
Morning all.
Sorry been MIA. Crazy weekend.
Saw the Canelo v Crawford fight (the one that was on Netflix).
Getting back into the groove.
Got in 5.0M at 10'57.
@SummerSkier how you feeling now?
6 -
Well I will admit to just not feeling very well yesterday from about noon on. I have not had a fever since Monday and that was not excessive either and I am taking the meds. I think the damn thing just has to run it's course so I am being careful. A slow walk in the mornings.
Welcome back @tarun_yadavA sounds like a really crazy weekend - I guess what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, LOL.

Feeling good! My Oura finally calibrated on my circaidian rhythm and said I am a rare early morning person with an ideal wake up time of 3:30 to 5:30 am. IDK, when I wasn't working and not waking up to an alarm, I generally woke up around 6:30…more a "morning" person. I do get up at 4:30 now for work…so I wonder how much it is based off of current habits vs actual biologics. I do agree I am a "early" morning person and feel my best.
@quilteryoyo There is a T-10 miler at Vandenberg and the highs are 70 degrees and fog <wink wink>
Have a good one folks!
3 -
Hey @CMorning99
There is a T-10 miler at Vandenberg and the highs are 70 degrees and fog
That's good to know. That is a remote and beautiful place for a run and the internet says it's free. Are you on the west coast too? Are you thinking about the run?
2 -
Monday was a recovery day so went walkabout. Tuesday was supposed to be a low zone training session that turned into tempo then became threshold. Why do my better runs come on a Tuesday instead of the weekend? Probably the dread of doing a long run… 🤨
@SummerSkier sorry you have a bug. Hope it gets better soon.
4 -
Nice runs & walks @yirara (& 10K Congratulations, You earned it!), @kgirlhart ("the running lady with the lights" - too cool!), @swenson19d, @Mari33a, @Zaxa2021, @quilteryoyo, @WarmJellyfish, @username301, @CMorning99, @Teresa502, @Scott6255, @ContraryMaryMary, & @tarun_yadavA !
My condolences @Mari33a & hope you're Mom is doing well now!
Curious, what colour are the lights @kgirlhart?Appreciate the 'run vs can you walk comments' folks. It's just a personal challenge; I want to do better than previous issue 'X'.
My sister (a half marathoner & full marathoner, who got me to try running for the 1st time, some 3 yrs after my spinal surgery), consistently reminds me, when I *kitten* about my issues, that my current:
'not fast enough' used to be a different issue - it was 'Can I walk?' and after a happy yes' it was a much later 'Can I run?'
Anytime I mention a less then perfect run to her she slaps my head back into reality pretty quickly. Gotta love family!
When I'm on a run & see a sign that 'We are the lucky ones', it always hits home to me. I never knew I would run.
We are our own worst critics... Always.Posting 3 days:
