October Cycling Challenge - 200 + Miles, 1 month

I've participated in this challenge the last couple of months, and it is a lot of fun. The goal: 200 miles or more on your bike this month. The last couple of months have been 150 miles, but most people are killing that, so I bumped it up a little bit.
Feel free to post your own goal, and then update throughout the month with your progress.

I'll go first:
I am shooting for 400 miles or better this month. I got in 51 yesterday, so I have 349 to go.0 -
I'm training for a 40 miler in 2 weeks. I think I can get to 200 in a month!0

24 for tonight. 75 in the last 18 hours. i know that isn't much to some of you all that have lots of miles under your belt, but i am only coming up on my first 1k.

I didn't have time to post my final mileage for September. So, I'm posting now.
I fell short of my goal by 30miles. But, i did start running. I guess that has taken some of my time and energy.
September total was 770 miles.
I'm not setting a goal this month as I have decided to run a half marathon in December. I'll be watching though.

4/10/2011 - 21.01km - 69.78km total - (43.35 miles) - 1323kcal (4344 kcal total) - mtb instead of roadbike - still WINDY!

FYI~ My riding week starts on Mondays and ends on Sundays. That's why I usually end up with a partial first week and last week depending on where the month starts. I know some people just start on the 1st of the month and start counting their week from whatever day of the week that happens to be. I'm too OCD for that.0 -

I had a girlfriend (from the Peak District actually), that could only eat her M&Ms once they were all sorted by color. I also need to have the volume on a digital radio be an even number. It's a curse.0 -
25 miles for me tonight, 100 so far this month. broke a shift cable about 5 miles out, and ended up riding home on a fixed gear bike. that wasn't fun, but at least i was in a decent gear when it decided to break.
of to the shop tomorrow for another cable i suppose.

how are you keeping track of your calorie expenditure? i notice you burned more on a 30 mile ride than the 43 mile ride a few days later...0 -
Rare rain storm in SoCal means no riding today. With this coming weekend being mostly shot, I'll have a lot of miles to make up.

Miles are just a cumulative, and provided for the benefit of Former Colonials... By and large I work in Km (Velominati Rule #24 ) so I burned 1564kcal on a 24.37km ride and 1323kcal on a 21.01km ride... any small % variation talen up by the fact that I was riding my MTB on one ride and the roadbike on the other - and I tend to loaf about on the MTB, whereas I get on with the job on the roadbike :laugh:
Calories are as per calculations from the Garmin 705 with cadence and hrm setup, as logged in garmin connect. When taken in combination with the input figures from MFP and my weight loss, the total Kcal discrepancy has tallied reasonably well - i.e. divide the weekly kcal discrepancy by 3500 and you get the # of lb's lost that week.0 -

37.5 miles with the local club tonight. i got dropped about 2/3 of the way through. my goodness those guys have some strong legs!
