Lisa - That quilt project looks promising. A lorra, lorra work! I so admire textile projects, and have bought old books about them, but I have zero patience. Much as I would like to think I can make gorgeous things, I just know myself too well. But I can look, and admire. I admire you.
Tracey - Your adventure is getting close! I often get back pain before I go away. Tension seems to store itself there. Then, as soon as I'm on my way, it vanishes.
Edie has asked to come over on Sunday afternoon. She will be 12 on Tuesday. 😍 I've still got some M&S mini toffee and pecan roulades, I bought for my son's visit, in the freezer. GF. We can have one each and stick a waterfall candle in hers. 😃

Happy Friday, Machka - we're just getting here, but I was looking forward to it…
Welcome Melanie in Alberta! We've got another Alberta resident here somewhere, I'm sure she'll pop up soon. You'll get to know us quickly, just drop in to whatever conversation you like. As others have said, I start here pretty much every day, helps center me to be in a group of like-minded women striving to be healthier.
Heather - I love the days where I do nothing. I don't have many because it's so hard to get my busy bee mind to shut up long enough for me to just enjoy one thing. It's been hard to finish a book for me for years now, and it was all I did as a child. I do keep trying, though.
I've got an alarm going off in 20 minutes to remind me that I have only 10 minutes left to be out the door to the dentist this morning. My usual alarms these days are set to remind me to take my meds three times a day, so it's a bit odd to know another one going off shortly.
Already finished a couple of the New York Times games - I was able to get a $12 subscription to a year of their online games, and have found that it's helping me keep boot my mind into gear a little more easily, or calm it down when necessary. Very absorbing. I don't always do the crossword, but I do the Mini-crossword, Wordle and one called Connections, which I love. 16 words, four sets of four that have something in common, and you have to group them.
My mild headache pressure and sneezing fit last night say there is definitely a front moving through, but they're just guessing at how much rain we'll get. Of course, they're always guessing, so oh well.
Kept the weight at 161 two days in a row, so I feel like it's legit. Made a couple changes that I think I'll keep in the rotation, maybe see if I can get below 160 again. I feel best at 155. Still heavier than the BMI charts think I ought to be, but I feel healthiest there.
Onward and upward kids… Need to go put on deodorant, and maybe even mascara if I'm feeling kicky… 😂👀🐈⬛ I can't see it, but most of what they see is me with my eyes closed. Might distract from the wrinkly bits. Maybe. Probably not.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR10 -
😀 Son and DIL arriving today from Oregon. They'll be here midday. I reminded them that I have no coffee or snacks so if they'll want anything, they'll have to bring it themselves (I gave them Jake's coffee maker when they were here last time). They'll be staying at an Airbnb not at my house but they can't check in until 3 PM. I'm looking forward to their visit. He wants to do chores for me so I have a list that includes a final clear out of the garage and splitting firewood for kindling.
😀 Barbara, best wishes to you and Tumble.
🎵 No dancing today. My dancing friend is still on vacation in Michigan with her daughters.

I've just made my first lasagne for many years. (The meat sauce was already in the freezer) When I went to get the pasta sheets out of the cupboard, I saw that they were expired 2016. !!!!!! Oh well. So I had to boil them for a while. Normally I don't bother, but they took a while to soften up. :-)
I'm making just enough for the two of us, in a loaf tin. With flat green beans on the side. Ii love lasagne, but it's such a faff if you haven't got sauce ready. It's the ragu I made for R&U.
G has tried to get to Chichester today. Trains cancelled. Signal failure. What is WRONG with the railway? It really makes you very unwilling to travel.
Beautiful day here. Summer has returned for one day only. The window cleaner came this morning. I went out to post a birthday card to L. Called in at the butcher etc. Deli for parmigiano.

Mo yes those are Hostas. It was such a wonderful peaceful garden. What a treasure for those who lived around it. It had a big fountain in the middle of it.
Here are my marigolds that look like small flowering bushes this year. The great thing is they self seed too!
I post flower pictures on medium because I think it shows them best!
This is from Swedesberg Iowa. Another saying they posted was… Just when the caterpillar was about to give up it turned into a butterfly.
Did on medium so it was easier to read.

Barbara - good news for Tumble. Hope surgery is successful and a quick recuperation. When do you plan to be back home?
Debbie - the big rain they were predicting here for next weekend seems to have gone poof so maybe you'll have dry days for your reunion. The 10 day forecast seems to be somewhat accurate on Weather Underground, though there have been surprises.
Barbie - nice that you'll have son and DIL stopping today to help with those tasks.
Heather - what in the world is going on with the trains? Strikes? Repairs? If I could get a ride to the train station in a nearby town I could use reliable rail to get to Seattle or Portland. I hear there's fabulous light rail available in the Seattle area now, good thing since road congestion can get bad quickly. It was already bad 25 years ago. I've never ridden on a train but it's on my bucket list.
I was notified that one of my old email addresses is going away in a month, so I need to switch some accounts over to a newer one, including this MFP and Facebook. Discovered I had set up an account with FB years ago using my newer email with a different username so I need to track that one down and fix it. AI gave me instructions on how to do this so will tackle it soon.
I also need to get some banking and printing done on this laptop in the next few weeks while I still have W10 since I haven't been able to find the printer on my old laptop with W11. I haven't checked in a while, maybe it was their glitch that has been fixed. I'm sure I can get AI to help me navigate through it since Copilot is a Microsoft creation.
Had an Amazon "Subscribe and Save" discovery this morning. I was notified of an upcoming shipment and price change - a fish oil supplement I've been using is going up $8 for a bottle of 90. I found out if I remove it from Subscribe and Save and just order it as a new product, that's $3.00 cheaper than the S&S price even with their 10% discount. HHhhmmm.
Have a lot of shopping stops this morning before meeting my friend K for early lunch. She's a former co-worker, was one of my favorite "kids" in the office and it's been fun keeping up with her over the years. T was going to join us but her FIL's funeral is tomorrow and she's entertaining and getting ready for overnight guests so she couldn't make it.
Egg update: After saying the egg factory was probably closed for the winter, two of the hens produced eggs for me yesterday. Good job girls!
OK need to get moving. Make it a super day, ladies! 😁

Allie, while you where in the hospital, any pain meds or meds to relax you are making themselves known, by stalling your digestion. I swear by my nightly stool softener pills. You haven't eaten much most likely, (well I haven't heard you speak of this amazing meal or that) but I am just assuming. I think hospital stays in general put our body naturally into a sort of trauma, so what will come, will come. Patience!🙃💖

Thank you for the welcome.
It’s interestIng reading about your lives. Different but often similar to mine. I recently ran into a classmate of mine from vet school that I hadn’t seen for years and she asked me… “Do you have any friends?”. At first I was like, what a strange question, then I found myself saying, no, I don’t. I moved to where I am now, my husband’s hood, 32 years ago and immediately started a practice that was just me. This along with raising 2 kids and ranching left no time for friends. We did everything as a family. Her story was the same. I do still keep in touch with some long distance friends but rarely see them. So it is really nice to read and interact with you all - it adds perspective to my day as to what others are going through, good or bad.
Mo- what a trigger when you said your mom used to ask how’s your weight!! That was usually the lead off question when we spoke on the phone. It’s fine thanks- still there. It still gives me anxiety thinking about having to report it. She meant well but it hurt.
Dr Katie - thanks for the book recommendation. I’ll check it out. Your mom sounds like a trooper - my grandmother lived to 104 and never broke anything. My dad is now 94 and on his own still - complains continually about being old but I constantly remind him he’s extremely lucky to have his mind intact, still drive, and plays competitive pool.
Lisa- my sister came up to visit and we couldn’t stop with the Wordle! Very addictive but good for the brain.
Have a lovely weekend,
Melanie, Alberta

I am drinking some Sun sweet "Amazin" prune June this morning. Its a 7.5 oz can. I figure I would alternate between having actual prunes a this stuff. Its not too bad. Drinking it makes me think of my husband's dear grandmother, Grandma Brown. What a character! Had to have her prune juice every morning. She came once with other family members, to our place in Alhambra CA. I was dealing with a summertime cold so she takes out of her bag a huge Act mouthwash bottle. Remember the kind that you squeezed the bottle and it would fill up the top with a small amount to use to gargle? Well she had that thing filled with whiskey! "Here, put a bit of this in yer tea, Rebecca"! She had quite an accent growing up in Arkansas, then Texas. She owned a restaurant at one point, and said she had a loaded shotgun at the ready for these that gave her trouble! During WWII she worked in a factory that made grenades. She was one tough broad!😁💖

Today is our anniversary. Nothing planned for us. Dh is going out to breakfast with his friend who is back in town for a few weeks from China. I have my daycare girl so will go walk the wetlands before getting her. I have my last aqua zumba class of the summer tonight.
Dh asked son and his fiance to go to lunch with us on Sunday. I am sure we will eat lunch out somewhere tomorrow- that is just the normal eat out while shopping.this picture is 33 yrs old. So much has changed in those years.
He always jokes that he covered all ethnic groups and I covered all sizes.
This is the dress I made. It cost less to make than my parents paid just for getting my first one altered.
At the first wedding, they had to take a LOT off the bottom and some in the bust- I was 4'10", 95lbs and 32 B at most. Wasn't as small in this picture but still had to alter the pattern quite a bit.7 -
happy anniversary! We didn’t do anything either

Todays food:
5 oz of chicken seems like a lot to me, but I want to eat my protein not have more than one protein related shake a day.
The prune juice has 42 carbs! I will not be buying that again! Eating my prunes seems easier to do. Plus I would rather use up the carbs on my bread I bought. Instead of my Lego seaded bread I bought Dave's Killer Powerseed bread. Some nice sandwiches in my future for lunches. Also bought Dannens Joko Triple zero yogurt in the flavor Banana crene. Gosh that is good! It is mousse' like and not too banana flavored.

Hi all! My day yesterday was: Went to Goodwill to waste some time before Psych appointment. DH came with me to town, and we were both disappointed in the prices! Some stuff was marked higher than brand new! Next, I went to Psych and DH went to Harbor Freight, picked me up and we went to Taco Bell for lunch. Next to Sam's club for water and got a cup of their frozen yogurt at their little cafe. Walmart next for a quick stop then home by 2:30. Did not do much of anything after that except play with Lucy. Felt better last night, and today.
Thank you all for the kind words, hugs, and prayers. They mean a lot to me.
Thought for Today:
My wife keeps telling me to stop pretending to be butter.
But I’m on a roll now.

Pip ~ You were pretty in ALL your photos. You have oversome so many obstacles and roadblocks. Congrats on all you have accomplished.
Barbie ~ Enjoy your visit with son and DnL. It will be nice to have them do some chores for you.
Heather ~ I have only ridden on a train once when I was 16yrs old. Can’t imagine the mess you have to go through with all the trains where you live. I would have no idea where to get on a train around here.
Lanette ~ Glad the ladies are keeping you in eggs!
Barbara ~ Come home safely with the pup. Know you did not like being away from home. Glad the vet school can help.
This morning my old and stupid took over! I deleted some files (Microsoft 365) and thought I had lost some info that was important to me. Ended up resetting my computer and then spent hours getting my deleted files back. My persistence worked and I am happy. 😊

and you are a beautiful liar, lololol. I will find some pics where I can stand to see myself sometime. I will agree, I have overcome a lot of poop in my life, this is true. I am truly blessed now, life is good

Melanie - Wordle got me and my best friend through the pandemic - we would swap our scores back and forth, and talked very nearly every week day for two years or more. It was a lifeline. I just got back to it a few months ago, and still enjoy it! I agree on the "friends," question. There is no one within literally hundreds of miles that I would actually call a friend. My best friend migrates between Montana and Arizona each year, and I have wonderful phone and email friends I've made through this thread over the years… but none live nearby.
My husband and I are solitary human beings who found each other, and we love the time we're together (I'm retired, he has another six years to go), but love our time alone, as well. Family (two grown kids, three grands) on the phone, and friends on the phone aplenty. But I also traveled due to the military and other reasons for more 28 years with first husband and nearly ten with my current and final husband before settling in the Arkansas River Valley. I love the idea that you're a livestock veterinarian… and watched many episodes of The Incredible Dr. Pol. Do real-life vets like that show? I always wondered, but had no one to ask.
Barbara AHMOD - I'm so pleased Tumble's bump hadn't metastasized, and hope the surgery was quick and easy and successful and the recovery is pain-free.
Heather, and everyone who commented - thank you! I love this stage of a quilt, where the sky is the limit, and I can envision anything and it all seems glorious and gorgeous. I enjoy the beginning, too, the first stages of trying to make that vision come true, before reality smacks me around and helps me understand that quilt fabric won't actually do what I think it should be able to do. 🤔😂😎 Then I finish it and I think it's awful for weeks, if not years, afterward. Much like every painting I've ever done, and the books, just with fabric. 😂
Allie - Endoscopies are much easier than them taking a camera up the other way. The usual nothing to eat since the night before, but then they knock you out and you wake up with a sore throat. Easy-peasy. I'm glad they're making sure everything's ok.
Mo and Pip and Melanie and anyone who had that person in our lives who watched our weight for us, and/or verbally abused us - it's awfully hard to remember we don't have to look at ourselves the way they looked at us. Corey told me once I had beautiful legs, and without thinking I told him he was a liar, that my legs were ugly and always had been. I learned not to correct him, but it took a long, long time to get his trust back that I wasn't going to lash out at him. He meant it—and I still can't believe it. So hard to break those particular chains.
Got that hour of sleep I needed - I've not slept well at all this week, not really sure why.
Cavatappi alfredo for dinner. We're trying to break out of our rut and do something a little different. Easy dinner for a Friday night, because much like your lasagna, Heather, I've made it easy. Corey's perfectly capable of making one, but I picked up a pre-made alfredo sauce as a base that he can then zzuzzh up, and I made the meatballs as part of a large batch and froze in dinner-size portions a few months ago.
That went on longer than I meant it to! I went back and looked at my post from the morning, and found some rather large typos… wasn't quite awake yet, I guess. Ah well.
Oh, and my teeth are squeaky clean. I love the way they feel after they've been cleaned well.
Hope you've had a good day.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR8 -
I'm sorry your suffering so!😥💖
I know with Zepbound, you have to stop taking the shot a couple weeks before any procedure is done. But each shot is so unique.
Unfortunately most doctors have to figure out what you DON'T have, to get to the root of the issue into what you DO have. Big hugs!

Todays lunch was a chicken salad made with 5 oz rotisserie chicken, 1/2english cucumber, a stalk of celery, 1 T. Litehouse buttermilk ranch dressing, 1 tsp Gludens spicy brown mustard, and 2 T of ACV. It was delightful! I also added pepper, Old Bay and Everything Bagel Seasoning. I also fixed an iced coffee shake with Chike protein powder, leftover morning coffee, ice and water. Also yummy!
Menu is revised! Love how I acclimate my appetite wants.
I had bought "Legendary"! chips in ranch flavor, so I eliminated my fish and replaced with chicken tenders. I also wanted to have a dip so I took out the dipping sauce for dinner and made a 2 T lite sour cream, 1/2 T dressing mixture. I ended up only wanting 1/2 the bag of chips. The serving is the whole dang thing!
Dinner is just a couple of chicken nuggets, some Oikos triple zero banana creme yogurt. Then a Sparkling Ice grapefruit drink. Getting in all my macros of 80 grams protein, about the same in carbs, 80 oz of liquids.

Here are some photos of me that I can stomach to see myself in
11 -
Pip - those are all terrific pictures. But like most of us I have the same image issues.
Carol - good job on getting files back. Persistence and patience are necessary for computer dealings.
I spent most of afternoon tracking down things for realtor. They should have everything. Hope to know actual closing date next week. After digging out everything I had to put it away (had stacks everywhere). Glad I had what was needed. Looking forward to shutting down utilities, etc.
Going to do a couple of my pt stretches. Not sure they are helping back any. However, the more it is painful the more I am looking forward to surgery. A bit less than 2 months-and maybe I can get in a bit early with a cancellation.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Barbara – What good news abut Tumble!!!
Worked then stopped at the soup kitchen to give them some of the boxes. They were going to have a group so I didn’t have to be there, which is OK. We started to get the porch cleared since the dumpster came yesterday. Just as we finished, the guy calls to say that it’s been delayed ANOTHER week. Seems they got the wrong delivery of wood at the other job. Well, it was starting to get hot so guess where I was??? J just got home, so we’ll probably have dinner & then I’ll take Ganon for a walk
Remember a while ago I said that I thought I might have arthritis in my hip because it was hurting? Well, I no longer think this because there’s no pain.
Lanette’s girl – keep on going!!
Rebecca – your husband’s grandmother sounds like she was a real hoot
Deb – happy anniversary!
Heather – we never had a problem with the trains in Europe, so sorry you’re going thru this.
Pip – you look so lovely in those pics
Jess is in the spa right now.
