    Lanette - I make my own, but I always have yeast around… super easy, and this is the half recipe, and yes, I baked it on a sheet pan. No kneading whatsoever. Recipe:

    Yeast, honey, water, flour and kosher salt. Olive oil for your hands and oiling bowls and pans.

    1/2 package of active dry yeast, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 1/4 cups of lukewarm water in a medium bowl, whisk together, let sit for five minutes. If it gets creamy and/or foams up, your yeast is OK, if not, start again with a new envelope of yeast.

    Add 2 1/2 cups (315 grams) of all-purpose flour, and 1 tbsp kosher salt and mix with a rubber spatula until a shaggy dough forms and no dry streaks remain. Oil a larger bowl with olive oil, and tip the shaggy mess into it. Will double in the fridge in eight hours or one to four hours in a warm place.

    If you want slightly thicker bread, use a 9x9 pan. For reasonably thin bread, use olive oil to grease up a sheet pan, push the dough down, gently put the dough into the pan and use oiled hands to spread it out slightly. Let sit in a warm place to double once more. Use your fingers to dimple it all over, like you're playing the piano. Bake at 450 for 20 to 30 minutes.

    Sprinkle with a little more salt on the bread once it's done, if you want it.

    As far as tomatoes, they're on their last legs, for sure, but Corey will probably get one more jar of jam out of them. My morning glories are nearly done, too, but the hummingbirds are still visiting them every day. I expect they'll be heading south before too long.

    Monique - Our son isn't moving in with us - all that happened more than seven years ago. He's happily ensconced in his bachelor life in Jacksonville, Florida, with his cat Mabel, and has made the dean's list his first two semesters in online college at SNHU. I'll be mailing his birthday gifts to him soon. Which reminds me, I need to ask him for his new address. I'm glad you were able to get your degree… My research for the gastric bypass showed that divorce rates afterward nearly double, because massive weight loss will actually widen whatever cracks there already were in a relationship. Good relationships get better—but shaky ones fall apart. I found out later that my family was actually making bets on how long it would take me to leave my first husband, and my nearest-in-age brother called it closest at two years. No one else thought I'd last that long.

    Ginny - Hope everything went well with the inducement and the little family is back together again…

    Rori - Always good to see your serene and lovely face. Enjoy your Albuquerque time. I lived there for a bit approximately a century or so ago. The mountains are just gorgeous.

    Allie - Thinking about you today, kid. Be careful on your trip to New Haven.

    I have been thinking about my design for my daughter's quilt, as well as getting input for her on what she wants, and it is, of course, shifting. That's the point in this being a process without a deadline. It's very much for her and what she wants, and it also needs to be within my capabilities. Always an interesting process.

    My sewing room has stacks of very clean, thrifted sheets everywhere, as well as a half-dozen new half-yards of fabric that I also need to throw in the washer (I usually forget) to get all the sizing, etc., out of them. Makes them shrink less later, among other things.

    Plus I'm working on a crocheted afghan for my son-in-law that looks like a football field, and a cardigan for my daughter that's in shades of blue. Already told her I'll just keep them until they get here next year, whenever that may be. They won't need them for this winter in Hawaii, but they will for their first winter in Illinois!

    Had hoped to see them in April or May, as her no-later-than date to be in Illinois is May, but my son-in-law's oldest son, who lives in Arizona, will be graduating in May, so that's going to gum up any travel plans to come here in between. You can't miss the boy's graduation, for goodness sake.

    Time to go find my one cup of coffee…

    I am still eating my moderate oxalate diet. That means less chocolate, raspberries, sweet potatoes, black pepper, cinnamon, Chia seeds, peanut butter, and nuts…I still eat them but in much smaller quantities. I do try to avoid beets, spinach, rhubarb, and almond flour. My weight has held steady at 155-158 for my 5'6" frame. I am noticing subtle improvement in some of my minor issues. In my quest to eat more plants I didn't know you can overdo certain ones.

    In a book by Sally Norton one of her examples was Liam Hemsworth developed a kidney stone in his twenties by having spinach smoothies everyday. Having a smoothie was not the problem it is what he put in it. Best to avoid almond milk in one too. You can substitute coconut milk and other greens not so high in oxalate if smoothies are for you.

    I do think over doing the oxalate foods is why my kidney numbers came out low for kidney filtration. Now that I tweaked my diet I learned it can take 3 to six months for the changes to make a full impact. I will try to schedule my physical in February now.
