    Happy runnings all

Monday was recovery walk day. Tuesday was threshold intervals. Supposed to do four 7x2 intervals at threshold HR. Tanked on the 3rd one, ran out of air. So got a 49% execution score, not half bad 😆 Hot too at 27c. A little sore from the weekend probably.

morning all. I don't always know if I like the "encouragement". I think when I was younger it was ok, and now sometimes it feels like the old comment "you look young… for your age" type thing. 🧐😏

pretty congested this morning for some reason (head only still!) so I will take it easy again. No fever or cough or headache tho so taking that as a win! The quils are still my friends.

Rainy morning here so I did strength. Plus, no one would commit to meet me for an early morning run. I brought my running clothes with me to work and am hoping I can get away for a mid-day run.

@SummerSkier Hang in there. I lead a small group thursday evenings on a trail walk. I'm walking, and the others are usually having to run/jog to keep up. This is where the "you look younger than you actually are" comments pays off and as a Sexagenerian I'm chuffed. But there are days when running along the downtown river front and everyone who is 20/30 years younger blows past me. I've been wanting to ask them if their parents do/can still run. Catch me if you can😁

    Interval run.

    500m, 35secs/km faster than 5km pace, followed by 500m 10km pace. Did that x4.

was feeling the pace so finished on a slow final km.

Nice runs & walks @tarun_yadavA, @username301, @SummerSkier(& glad you're feeling up for running again, even if stuffy!), @WarmJellyfish (great pics of the mtn & grouse), @yirara (glad your ankle is okay; & sometimes we all run - 'constantly got very fast, ran out of breath, walked a moment, ran slowly again, got very fast again'), @chris_in_cal, @quilteryoyo, @CMorning99 (I've never heard of a cromufffin, or cruffin - lol - Enjoy it!), @AlphaHowls, @Teresa502 (love that!, My local police & firemen usually wave and/or flick on the lights when I run past; always a welcome response).

    Thanks for the race kudos @Scott6255, @WarmJellyfish, @kgirlhart, & @quilteryoyo!

Agree with @tarun_yadavA, if you're hungover, @CMorning99, run, it helps.

My condolences @AlphaHowls & I hope you find the strength you need to carry through. I pray & know that you will.
I was the executor for both my father & mother's estates; I know how emotionally difficult it can be, & how much longer than expected it can affect you. That is in addition to the financial/estate/legal concerns that you need to deal with, which can be substantial.

Sometimes a 'encouragement' is just a comment @SummerSkier. One of my best friends has decided that she acknowledges her best friends in public with a, "You're not dead, thank God!"
I really disliked it when I met her for dinner a couple weeks ago. Hopefully, she'll stop.

@AlphaHowls sending you big hugs 😢
@kgirlhart hope you escape the covid bug. Your calf pain sounds exactly like what mine felt like. Hope it goes away today.

I did 6 miles on the TM yesterday too, also due to storms, but also to help my calf rehab. It felt good the whole time. So planning on going outside on Saturday, but will try to be gentle 😉
I will have to push the miles though in the coming days to hit my monthly goal.

@WarmJellyfish "So got a 49% execution score, not half bad 😆" 😂 You did what you could. Breathing is important.

    Great running @tarun_yadavA , @username301 , @chris_in_cal , @Scott6255 .

I take any encouragement @SummerSkier . I hope you continue to feel better every day.

@yirara I'd call that a fartlek run and pretend it was intentional. You are doing great.

I wouldn't like that comment either @John772016 . If she is a good enough friend, I'd mention it to her or find out why she has decided to do that. There may some reason you aren't aware of. I'm probably not going to meet my goal either. AND, I'm glad that you are able to run 75% of your normal…when I read that comment earlier, I thought your doctor wanted you to cut your running by 75%( not to 75%)!

@kgirlhart Nice running on the treadmill. My watch always has me running a lot less than the treadmill says, so I go with the treadmill readout for distance and my watch for calories. I guess you really need a foot pod to get accurate distances on the treadmill with Garmin. I hope your calf is fine and you don't get CoVID.

Great job on the 10K and not stopping after running up heartbreak hill @ContraryMaryMary !

Oh no @SummerSkier ! I am so sorry to hear you had a rebound. I hope it doesn't last long.

@quilteryoyo now you got me thinking, how far can I go without breathing… 😈😎

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday Wednesday was a lot lot lot cooler at 16c than Tuesday's sauna 27/28c, still sweated buckets. The sun was out so that helped. Supposed z2/3 base run became tempo run. Got one good hill in. Tonight, let's see how many people I can drop from the group walk, I think 50% might be a good attrition rate 😈😏. The mozzies might get the rest.

    Nice runs & walks @kgirlhart, @chris_in_cal, @ContraryMaryMary, @tarun_yadavA, @Scott6255, & @WarmJellyfish!
The treadmill usually feels longer @kgirlhart! but given your running schedule, I'd trust your gut & usual running history more than a public treadmill that you've not set-up.
Sorry to hear about the COVID rebound @SummerSkier, hope you recovery soon!

    58.65/80 mile goal

    Posting two days again.

Yesterday, I had to be at work at 6:30 am again. It might not be too bad if I could go to sleep early, but I'm not the best at that. I got off work at 3:30, came home, and did a treadmill walk before heading out for Bible study.

Today, I didn't have to be at work until 10, but did have some things I needed to take care of this morning, and I slept a bit later than intended. I did a 1.00 mile fasting walk early. Then, after I got home, I did a 1.10 mile walk on the driveway. I just didn't have the energy for a run.

After work on Wednesday, I ran 4 miles. It was still a little rainy and so muggy. I was definitely on the struggle bus. I took Thursday as a rest day. My legs were sore after doing lunges and squats on Wednesday morning and running in the afternoon. This morning I ran 3 miles in the neighborhood. Long run tomorrow so I didn't want to do too many miles but with all the rain and storms this week, I fell short of my weekly goal.

Beautiful scenery @WarmJellyfish ! Hope you didn't loose too many souls!

@kgirlhart I can't believe you've never run on a treadmill before this week. You are such a strong runner and I admire your consistency. Hope you avoid the COVID. I wish every office would take cleaning that seriously.

Sorry to hear of your rebound @SummerSkier Glad you are taking it easy.

Right, another pretended 'fartlek' run today. It's just not working. I think I did too much on the 3km run, and as such something is going wrong with my body, as happens sometimes. My HR was also about 20-25bpm at times during this run lower than it usually is. In the middle of the run where I had to walk a bit. I just couldn't get it up, and hence could not run anymore. Not a device fault because I recorded with phone and external sensor and garmin watch with internal HR. Both are consistent. It also just started to rain when I opened the house door, and stopped raining of course when I was back home 😂

    5km, quick one.

    59.90/80 mile goal

I did a driveway wun at the end of a long day. It's days like this that I would skip exercise if I didn't have a streak going….and the reason that I keep it going.

Non running details of my day in the spoiler, if you're interested.

The original plan for my week had me getting up early and doing a run before work today. But, I had forgotten that I had told my neighbor, W (the one that helps me mow mom's lawn), that I would go pick him up early from the shop where he dropped his car to get worked on. So, I did get up early and picked him up.

Then, we drove over to Hardee's, bought us and mom to-go breakfast biscuits and ate with her.

I dropped W off at his house, came home for about 15 min and then headed to work.

As I was walking back to the car after closing my gate, I noticed something odd on my rear tire, looked, and it was a nail! I checked my tire pressure and it was okay, but I didn't want to leave it in there and maybe have a flat.

So, I drove to work and then asked the director if she would rather me take the car to get the tire checked then or later in the day. She said then, so off I went. The shop I take it to is about a mile from the daycare.

They said they could check it out for me, but it would be a 1.5 - 2 hour wait. I couldn't be gone that long so, said, "I know you all don't do this, but would you be able to get someone to take me back to work?" They asked where that was, and said, "Wait a minute." and then one of the mechanics drove me back! Turned out, when his kids were little, they went to that daycare.

They called me about 3 hours later and another teacher, who was on her break, drove me back to get it. Turns out, it was a short nail that hadn't penetrated into the interior of the tire (they did check and there was no leak). So no charge!

After work, I talked to W. He hadn't heard from the shop yet, so they didn't get his car fixed today. He was going to mow his uncle's yard (his uncle is currently in the nursing home from a broken hip. He is almost 96 years old and came down with pneumonia a couple of weeks ago. The anti-biotics weren't helping, so he chose to stop treatment. They are sending him home on Tues with hospice, so W has a lot on his plate this week…he's the next of kin.) I volunteered to help him mow since it is a large yard and he has two riding mowers. He agreed to let me. So, again, I was home about 15 min, ate a spoon of peanut butter, and left to help him mow.

It was almost 7 pm when I got home for good. So, I did a short wun and then ate dinner.
