Great pace today @tarun_yadavA . Yeah. It actually turned out to be a good day overall, just that things didn't go as planned AT ALL. And it was a really long day. LOL

I haven't posted in a couple of days so I am posting 2 runs. I wasn't planning to run on Thursday. I had to be at work at 6 and I didn't want to have to get up two hours earlier than usual. We were doing inventory at work and the finance department has to audit everyone. It is easier for the med/surg and ER to do their counts overnight so that is why we came in early. But I was finished at 6:35, and the next departments wouldn't be ready until after 7:30 so I decided to go for a short run. The weather was lovely and my calf felt great. I just ran up to the park and looped around to get 2 miles.
Yesterday I ran 6 miles. I didn't have to be in until 7, so I got up a little earlier, but not too much. The weather was lovely again. My plan called for an interval run on Thursday but I did not have time for that. Yesterday it was a base run. I thought about doing the intervals since I missed my speedwork the day before, but decided to just do a fartlek run. It was fun.
I'm sorry about the covid rebound @SummerSkier. I hope you feel better soon. So far no one else in my department has come down with covid. I am feeling good, but a little paranoid every time I sneeze or clear my throat. It is frustrating because I have hay fever so every year around this time I sneeze a lot and have the itchy eyes/throat. But so far nothing worse than usual and no fever or aching or fatigue.
4 -
@SummerSkier hope your covid is winding down!
I got outside this morning. It was much cooler (66F) than it has been in a while. Maybe summer is really over! Went for 9 miles; longest run since before Christmas last year 😏 Trying to make sure I can run the full 15K in a few weeks when I do my annual Peachtree City 15K. I know this will be my worst performance by far, but going mainly to see the family (two new babies born last week, and see my brother's new hip)!
I was worried I wouldn't make my monthly goal of 80 miles, but only have less than 5 left, so think I will make it 😁5 -
….Never got the phone call…
Nice runs & walks @username301, @quilteryoyo, @tarun_yadavA, @kgirlhart, & @Scott6255 (Congrats on the 9 miles! Enjoy the Peachtree 15K & getting to see the family)!
The kindness of strangers @quilteryoyo (& acquaintances) always brings a smile to my face. My condolences to 'W', it's days like that, that really test us. You're streak is an awesome thing @quilteryoyo! Glad you're keeping it going.

This morning's race (my 6th this Sept) was the YMCA Charity 5K Race, raising money to send kids to YMCA Camps.
It was a really nice morning for a run/walk.
First time running this particular race for me, I was about 20 secs slower than my best time this year as I had to walk a slight bit due to nerve pain but it wasn't too bad🤞.
It's a fairly nice course as its mostly level, mostly paved through parkland trails & mostly out & back (the back actually takes a slightly different route which made it even more interesting).
Surprised how many trees are changing colour already given we've had very little cold weather so far. I'd share photos but I don't bring my phone on runs unless I have too!
Happy with my result - Finished in the top 7.15% overall of the 1,259 Runners/Walkers & managed a🤸♂️1st in my Category 🤸♂️. When I first saw that I finished 1st in my Category, I first assumed no one else showed up….🤪4 -

So basically: yeah, the 3km run a few days ago made me sick and muscle weakness and dysautonomia are in full swing. Fixed some issue by pharmacologically raising my blood pressure (and with that my heart rate) and I was able to run tonight at a normal hr. I think this will bite me later tonight, but lets see.
Btw, I have a new phone and I find that the gps chip tracks differently. What I thought was about 5.2km is just 5km with the new phone. We're talking iphone 17 pro here, thus I do wonder whether the old one was so bad, or whether this one has a poor chip. Basically: my runs will henceforth be even slower, unless I find out this is a lemon and I replace it.
Anyway, nearly reached my running goal for this month.4 -
Great use of your time on Thursday @kgirlhart ! Fartlek runs ARE fun.
Amazing run this morning @Scott6255 . Two new babies…twins or cousins? I know you are going to have a great visit. When is the race? (I could look it up, but asking you is easier. 😂)
Thanks @John772016 . I agree with you on the kindness. We should strive to do more of that. Congratulations on your AG win and overall placement in the race! That's amazing.
I'm so sorry your body didn't like your run the other day @yirara . I hope your solution for today doesn't make it worse tonight/tomorrow. I don't use my phone to track my distance, so I can't help you there. You can get on mapmyrun…may have a different name now, and see how far you are running to see which is correct, if you are so inclined. (Or at least which is consistent with mapmyrun. Who knows how accurate that is either.)

My driveway was wet and spots are covered with leaves, so I almost did a treadmill run, but was really needing some fresh air. There were only a couple of slick spots, so was able to run more than I expected. I ran/walked driveway laps and added the hills at the end of the driveway on the "main" road. The avg pace was 13:09 min/mile. Avg HR was 134 with a max of 154 bpm. I did one mile cool down walk.
I won't make my 80 mile goal this month, but if I try real hard, I should make 70 miles again.

Sunday long run this morning. I was planning to head out with MetroRun but they had a hilly 18km planned so I opted to accompany my friend who’s training for a marathon. She had 2:45 run at marathon pace scheduled and has to stick to the flat to avoid aggravating a hip injury.
That sounded easier (joining her and another friend for as long as I felt like it) but I misinterpreted marathon pace as marathon training pace, so was expecting to run at 6:30 kilometres or slower only to find out she meant 5:40s! Yikes.
A couple of more spanners - my husband and I were out for dinner last night for our wedding anniversary so I was fueled on very fancy restaurant food and a glass too many of really rather lovely champagne (not recommended), and daylight savings started last night so my alarm going off at 6:15 felt like 5:15.
First, food pics for those that like food pics (we did a seven course degustation). From the top, the beef and the quail main courses, then the chocolate and the blood orange desserts:
I managed to get up at silly o’clock anfter anll that and met my friends and got my run in. It was a beautiful morning on the waterfront and good to get out early as the wind started picking up. I stuck with my friends for 7.5k before heading back to my car for a tidy 15km.
And I guess this is why Auckland is known as the city of sails:
Met a couple of gorgeous floofs on my way home - interestingly they were not together. The dogs were clearly friends and the owners knew each other (they were talking dog shows) but for me to have never seen this breed before then see one and then a second 30 seconds later was surreal. They’re Leonbergers - quite enormous and very fluffy.
Then I went home for a long nap. Good times!

Morning all
Got in 10.0M at 10'38.
@ContraryMaryMary ooooohhh yummy! Two desserts there! Walk me through them. 😋

Nice runs @ContraryMaryMary and yes the food (and dogs) look amazing!
Great long run @tarun_yadavA
@quilteryoyo the 2 babies are cousins. One from each of my brother's twin girls 😃

@ContraryMaryMary the food looks amazing!
Sorry to hear about the Covid rebound @SummerSkier - I hope you’re on the mend now.
@AlphaHowls sorry to hear about the rough time you’re having while going through your mom’s things. Hang in there. 🙏 The long run you just had is amazing!
Hubby and I have started training for the 8K that’s in mid-November. I haven’t been keeping track of my walks/runs of late. We’re only planning to walk it since my husband is still on the mend from his hip replacement and my PTTD doesn’t let me run very much. The tendon gets irritated easily and starts to act up and hurt and I get swelling in my ankle.
I’ve been very blue over the past month and a half. My sweet, beautiful cat Ariel has been going down hill and she passed away Wednesday evening. She was 16 and 3 months old. We lost our 17 1/2 year old dog this past November and now we don’t have any cats or dogs left. Ariel was my sweet baby who followed me around soon after she was born. She was always my sweet girl. I miss her so…. She loved sitting in boxes, especially shoe boxes. Thursday afternoon I buried her in a red running shoe box. She had lost a lot of weight and had withered down to under 7 pounds. Old age and probably cancer. This was her when she was healthy.

@daria0919 that is heart breaking. 😔 What a beauty she was. 😍I wish they could stay with us so much longer. I am always jealous when I read of someone who's kitty is 20 or more. Mine never make it much past 15 or 16. I have one who will be 15.5 soon and she is a teeny tiny monster but I know every day is precious now.
Me - still covid P. The fevers have abated and my HR is slowly coming down from thinking I was jogging all night long (I mean seriously over 80 or 90 when I am lying in bed? yeah fever I guess) I decided to get my *kitten* back in gear this morning and went for a easy jog being careful to keep it slightly faster than BF pace. I am definitely missing the 120 deliberate mile goal I set but I am at 104 total and with a few more walks in my maybe I will make 110. Not bad for covid from the 13th on right? Also really debating the whole going back to the office tomorrow thing. My Dr said that the test could possibly stay positive a long time but that if my fever was gone and symptoms easing up it would be ok but damn. I defintely don't want to pass this on so I am just going to take it a day at a time.

Went to run with both the old and new phone today. Had to put in quite an effort to get some pace going on the new one. Now I need to find a way to compare both dataset. I think the accelerometer is the main problem, but not sure whether either phones is laggy or overreacts. Got some interval data though :D This run on new phone is 40m short and not 200m as with the previous run.3 -
10km, bit faster again, pace variable over the distance.

OMG, due to some laziness, procrastinating, COVID, recovery, etc I have done a "Legs" resistance training in about a month. On friday I went back in and did one, using lighter weights. On Saturday I felt good so went back in and did another upper body session. The onset of muscle soreness was delayed and by Saturday night I was rigid. Sleeping was tough. I planned on a run on Sunday but boy I was sore. Using pure willpower I shuffled along for :20 minutes to hopefully help breakup the muscle soreness in my legs. I think it worked, I feel a little more loose after having run 1.45M at 13'45 out at the lake.

Nice run @ContraryMaryMary . Happy Anniversary! That meal looks delicious and the views for the run are beautiful. I've never heard of Leonberger before. They are beautiful.
Great run @tarun_yadavA , @username301 , and @yirara
@daria0919 I'm glad you and hubby are going to walk the 8K. So sorry for the loss of Ariel. She looks like, and sounds like, a really nice cat.
@SummerSkier . Sorry to hear you are still testing positive and not feeling the best. You have definitely done great this month mileage wise, since you haven't been able to do much since the 13th. Now I really feel like a slug. 🤣
Sounds like you had a couple of great workouts, but maybe overdid it a bit @chris_in_cal . Repeating the exercise that makes you sore usually helps too. You did great to get out for a run.
Nice treadmill run @John772016 . I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Today was my long run day. It was a beautiful morning. 62°F when I started out. It was lovely running weather. I saw a few loose dogs, but none of them bothered me. It was an enjoyable run, and I reached my goal for September.
@ContraryMaryMary Happy Anniversary! Looks like a great time. I have heard of leonbergers, but never seen one in real life.
@daria0919 I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a pet.

Morning all.
Got in 5.5M at 10'52.
Little bit stiff after a quickish one on Saturday, and a long one yesterday.
@daria0919 oh no. So sorry to hear about your cat! 😥
@SummerSkier sorry to hear you're not yet better - but glad to see you out there and getting some outdoor activity in! 💪🏽

September got away from me. I lost my motivation and haven't found it back yet. I am off from work today and tomorrow and am working on getting myself motivated to get out the door right now to run (I need to wait a bit as I just finished breakfast.)

I am not sure if I call this month a win or not LOL It seems I may have done my # of miles goal wrong with the number of runs I was expected to do in the month.
Last week was an absolute $h1t show. Work was annoying, a very dear friend succumbed to cancer suddenly, and all this led to my chronic fatigue to flare. I haven't felt that potent of a mix of emotions and symptoms in a long time. I ended up taking 1 day off work and just did robot mode for the rest and slept when I could.
It was interesting with my Oura ring that it called out the beginging of my fatique flare! I got the alert that I had severe symptoms of something straining my body. It registered a higher resting heart rate, a big dip in my HRV, and an 1 degree increase in body temp.
I am feeling much better today. Hopefully processed the worst of the grief and ready to get back on it. Lunch is packed and gym bag ready to go…and moderatly motivated to get after life :)
I hope every one has a week full of forward momemtum in whatever area!

Good morning/afternoon. A friend and I ran 5 miles this morning before work. That brings me to 96.72 of my 100 mile goal. I should be able to make it with tomorrow's run. It was clear and 59F this morning.
@daria0919 - I'm so very sorry for the loss of your fur baby. They are our babies and a huge part of our lives. I'm glad you and DH are training for the 8K. I'm looking forward to seeing you in Richmond!

Reached my goal for this month with yet another miserable run. I'm still in a muscle/blood pooling decompensation thingy. Won't be exercising for a few days to let it heal. But anyway, got my target.4 -
I got myself out the door. I thought to only do 4km, but I kept making these turns and did 6km. Its looking like fall out there, but it doesn't feel like it! It still feels like summer.
The above photo was taken while running up hill

I had to be at daycare at 10, so got up early enough to get in a treadmill session before I left. It was a struggle today - my knees were stiff and just didn't want to work. But, I did as much as I had time to complete.
Run avg pace was 12:59 min/mile. Avg HR was 112 with a max of 132 bpm. One more day to run in this month.

Now that I stopped taking all the headache and other flu meds I have more aches and pains than I thought I would. What the heck? ANyway, here's to having a great final qtr to the year. I have NOT given up yet. See you in Oct.
