I'm not new to MFP, however I find it hard to stay on track. Any pointers anyone can give me would be great! I'm only 33 and I'm pre-diabetic, so it is very important that I loose weight and say away from carbs. Thanks

Definitely! Also take the time to look up your food and check the nutritional balance of that food before you eat it. You may be surprised how bad "healthy" food is for you. Stay with this every day. Good luck!
  • I'm pre-diabetic, too. I'm on a low carb diet and so far it's been working for me. I seriously have to force myself to eat. I'm just not hungry anymore. I have a hot pizza in the kitchen and I haven't touched it. That's not normal for me. I just set it on the counter for the kids to eat and I grabbed an apple b/c I knew my calories for the day was near or at my goal. See, when you reduce the amount of sugar (carbs) in your diet, you don't eat as much...b/c your appetite is suppressed. So, I have to force myself to eat every few hours so that it keeps my metabolism up. I'll eat a protein shake for breakfast, 2 hrs later I'll eat a handful of mix nuts. I'll eat a lunch, focusing on protein and veggies, then a snack a few hours after that, then dinner....again...focusing on protein and veggies. I drink lots of water and I walk at least 30 minutes a day and lift weights 3x a week. I'm losing weight and I feel great! I hope this helps! :)
