    @NonnieDoiron ~ you have been through a lot! I'm sure you just needed a bit of a release and it came when you least expected it….but it's good and hopeful news! You've done a great job handling everything tossed your way. You deserve a break and hope and pray that there is help for him.

    Morning LA friends ~ wrapping up September and met my AF goal just shy of one day. Weight is coming off, toning efforts are working and this month I found more enjoyment in the little things like picking up grandkids or baking seasonal breads. Will start a scrapbooking hobby this weekend.

    I met my limit of two on many of these days which I also consider to be LA for me.

    Here comes October - my favorite! 🎃 🍁

    YIKES🤨probably one of the worst months I've had since I started this LA journey!

    October is also my favorite month, and I plan to enjoy it with wayyyyyy less A.

    September Final Stats:

    AF 15
    LA 10 (one drink/glass of wine only)
    A 5 (two or more glasses of wine)

    October Goals: Aim for "Sober October" but recognize that I don't need to do it as a perfect streak. (I have depression fueled by extreme life long perfectionism, so my therapist reminds me that since I'm not dependent on alcohol, it's more realistic for me to cut back, not abstain absolutely.)

    @BurnMode05, I'm sorry you've had a tough summer, but feeling shame doesn't help. We've all been there - those moments/times when we let ourselves down. You're aware and you're trying; those of big steps.

    @mfowler883, your granddaughter is so precious! I'm new here as of this summer, so it's nice to meet you.

    @2timesacharmmfp, as I said above, I'm new here as of this summer, so it's nice to meet you as well, and join the journey towards a life where we control the alcohol instead of it controlling us.

    Hi everyone,

    Happy weekend! I've been "off and on" since my last post and just did (yet another) "Sober Time" app reset this Friday, October 10th (beginning 7pm) as my fresh, "DAY ONE". This date also coincides with "World Mental Health Day", which is so fitting for me, since my drinking alcohol is so closely linked with the state of my own mental health.

    I think I need to start posting daily in order to stay more accountable. I've been "slacking off" WAYYY too much! I've said this so many times before, but I take need to "stay the course" this time. My weight is about 158 right now, but I'd like to get down to about mid-140's by the New Year, and to achieve my goal of BMI under 25 by Spring, 2026.

    I'm hoping the Fall season will inspire me. So here I go!

    Hi everyone,

    Oh, well. "Flubbed up" again, beginning this past Friday. I had a real hard time at work due to a pretty big error, and I'm fearful about my upcoming, annual review and even my future with this employer. BIG time binging because I was trying to "escape". Didn't work, of course. Stopped ALL alcohol last evening. I will abstain over the next several days as a test of my resolve, but will wait to set my "official" Soberversary reset until the stroke of midnight when Halloween begins, 10/31/2025! Then, each Halloween thereafter I can celebrate my sobriety!

    I keep disappointing myself, over and over again. I'm having some internal pain on my right side now. I feel like it's a "red flag" warning.

    STILL, I'm not giving up on ME! (Hope you're hanging in there, too!)

    I will try to check in daily going forward.

    Never give up on yourself, Carole! Work can cause us so much added stress and it sounds like you are supper aware of what happened and how you want to resolve - your positive attitude will carry you through this!

    @Walela617 I second what @Michieb125 wrote, work can add a lot of stress to an already stressful life.

    FYI, I don't think you're disappointing yourself at all, I think you're a human and we all have a lot on our plate. Please try to give yourself grace, and take care of your health (if the pain on your right side persists, please see a doctor if possible). And also, please continue to check in with us - I think most of us are on an October thread:

    I'm guessing a November thread will be set up soon.
