My local parkrun this morning and a small enough field to see me as first woman home. Always a buzz, even if I was nearly a minute off my PB for this course.

Nice running @Teresa502 . It was a bit chilly today and may be cooler in the morning.
Now, I am trying to picture that in my head @BigDfromNJ .
Great stroll and beautiful pictures @WarmJellyfish .
Nice run @John772016 . Doesn't sound like overtraining when your physiotherapist wants you to run a HM. 😉 I wouldn't think you could cut back on total mileage AND train for a HM. Well, some could, @AlphaHowls for example, but not me!
Congratulations @ContraryMaryMary ! That's awesome!
Great running @Mari33a .
You're doing great @nossmf .

I just wasn't in the mood to run today, but did get out and do a shorter walk during my break (14:41 min/mile pace).
Nothing exciting today, except I noticed that trying to keep up a fast walking pace for over 30 min really did tire out my leg muscles more than I expected.

Good to see you back @TheMrWobbly
@Teresa502 Oh no ! I hate it when that happens.
I am posting 2 runs today. On Thursday I ran 6 miles. I took it pretty easy after Wednesday's speedwork and it was a nice run. I didn't think I would be able to run today. I took a PTO day and we drove 4 hours to visit some friends and then 4 hours home so I didn't really think I would have time, but I woke up early enough to get out and run 2 miles. I'm glad I did. It was a nice day, but lots of sitting.

Thank you all for the encouraging words. Amen 🙏 @daria0919
Great work on finishing first @ContraryMaryMary and good running/walking all around.
A lovely park run this morning. No walking, just some very slow jogging.
Good to be back moving 😀

I wasn't planning on running 10km this morning (especially since before going for my run I only had coffee). I wasn't planning on going over to the trails by First Lake. Sometimes though to help someone out (I had to go by a family member's house) your plans need to change.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to my fellow Canadians on the thread🦃🇨🇦!
Hope you get a chance to give thanks & enjoy time with your families!Nice runs & walks @ContraryMaryMary, @Mari33a, @nossmf, @quilteryoyo, @kgirlhart, @TheMrWobbly, @daria0919, & @angf0679!
Looks like a beautiful trail for a 10K run, even if unplanned @angf0679; great pics!
Another lawsuit against Garmin - The pile-on has begun:
Haven't read the detail on this new lawsuit from Suunto as yet.
The info I read on the first lawsuit from Strava against Garmin really sounds like Strava doesn't have much of a chance of being successful. Seems weird they'd launch a suit they'll likely lose & just as they're planning on going for an IPO!?

No running for me today; cool & raining this morning so decided to get my Garmin 40km cycling badge on my stationary bike.
By the time I had finished & showered off & went shopping it was partly cloudy and comfortable. Would've been a good time for a run 🤷♂️. Oh well, back home on my computer at the moment & nothing but cloud as far as I can see & cold winds.7 -

I am slow as molasses, lol. Took me 35 minutes to finish 3 miles even, when back in my school days I could finish 3.1 miles (a 5k) in under half that time.
5 -
Very pretty scenery for your run @angf0679
It was a pleasant 66F this morning so I went out for an 8 mile run. Had to walk 3 times 🫤 so my 15K next week doesn't look promising
Oh well, I think my PR days are behind me. That's a hard pill to swallow, but it had to come sometime. Probably will just run with my niece and just enjoy the weekend with family 😁7 -
Great job on the parkrun @TheMrWobbly .
Nice running @daria0919 .
Beautiful 10K this morning @angf0679 .
Great job on the cycling @John772016 .
@nossmf That's not slow in my book. It's all relative. You were really fast when you were in school!
@Scott6255 That sounds like a great alternative to trying for a PR.

I had a lot of things I had to do today, so I didn't really have time for much of a run. I decided to do a true wun…avg pace was 15:11 min/mile.
I have been taking care of my neighbor's animals since Wed. One of the things I did today was take their dog (Esther) on a walk around my mom's field (mom went too). She isn't really leash trained, but does pretty good with me.

Morning all.
Recovering from Flu here. (Unfortunately not a runny nose @SummerSkier 😞 )
Skipped yesterday. Decided to go today. Got in 3.12 M at 11'45.
Also had a bit of a careless fall in my kitchen on Friday night. Lost of my footing and fell on my back. Lower back/right side a bit sore too.
Anyways…
@Scott6255 hope your flight to ATL is ok on Thursday! Hope no issues!
@John772016 Happy Canada Thanksgiving!
@quilteryoyo love the Esther pics!

well wrote a long post and it crashed when I accidently clicked on a link. 😏
yesterday was my fastest 5k in a while. I was shooting for under 10 min mile pace but just could not quite get there. I think the nice crisp cool morning - ok 60's is not exactly fall - helped. And then it warmed up to 90. grrrr. Bt ayway up to a total of about 48 deliberate miles out of 120 goal for the month so looks like I am on target somewhat.
@tarun_yadavA take care of yourself. Hope you have a quick recovery from fall and flu…..
@Scott6255 sometimes just enjoying the run is better than pushing when you are not quite ready.
@quilteryoyo do you walk tippy and the neighbor dog together? Husky's can be a challenge. I would say about half the dogs I go by on leash are well behaved and half lunge and bark. Heck a lot of them bark at me from behind the fence when I am not even close in the street. I guess that is there purpose in life to warn of intruders.
Congratulations on a beautiful 10K @angf0679 sounds like your running this month is coming right along. Hope you are not too sore today!

82 of 160km for the month.
Happy Thanksgiving weekend fellow Canadians!
Still on recovery week. Saturday was a shortish recovery run, a bit chill in the morning, then it got up to 18c / 64f in the afternoon. Overnight Mr Winter showed up. Was -2c / 28f this morning. Need to practice zone 2 runs more. Crazy how we get 1 day 20c degree swings here
7 -
Life got in the way this week, I missed a run & weights. I am now 1 run, 10km & 1 weight session short.
10km today, a bit faster (more accurately less slow). I need to find out what I used to do 10km in pre pandemic.
Runs 6/18. Distance 35km/110km. Weights 3/9

reflux from hell. Meh.
05.10 strength

11.10 2.5hrs relaxed kayaking
12.10 5.6km 44min 7:51/km - just run18.06/81km - 13.2km behind
After the last run was hit by beta blockers from hell without taking beta blockers I tried every trick I know of to get my blood pressure and heart rate up, and the run was very nice. Spent half an hour figuring out how far I actually ran because I somehow stopped my run for a while accidentally, either the cord from my running jacket or a rain droplet stopped it. Meh. Good run though. Yesterday I did a relaxed kayak trip.5 -
1 6.63 miles
2 8 miles, Running Partner A
3 15.02 miles

12 3.25 miles, Crazy Laps! Not in the moodI am hanging in there. The tooth is healing, the jaw bone will take longer and I have to deal with that. I am having difficulty as the weather changes, not only just being cold, but my mood turns more to depression. Adding grief/loss and my home being complete chaos….well, I think we all have to just tread water at times.
I took this photo and it is of A and E ahead of me.
A friend will run into the fire with you.

Hey @AlphaHowls it's good to hear from you.
I ran 5.01M at 13'23 out at the beach. It's an incredible day here, about 68°F (20°C) with a cool breeze coming in off the ocean.

@tarun _yadava I hope you recover quickly from the flu and the fall.
I usually run a long easy run on Sunday. But my plan today called for a race, or a 15K simulation run. I didn't have a race scheduled, so I decided to do the 15K simulation. Hal said to warm up for a mile, then run 4×100 m at 9:50-10:35 with 100 m recovery. Then run 9.3 miles at 9:50-10:35 and a .5 mile cool down. I ran the warm up, the cool down and the 4×100 meters a little faster than prescribed, but I ran the 9.3 miles with an average pace of 10:37, so I missed the pace just a little. I did have several miles under 10:35 though, and I worked hard so I felt all right about the workout.

Nice runs & walks @nossmf, @Scott6255 (Enjoy the 15K!), @quilteryoyo (Esther looks pretty happy!), @tarun_yadavA (Thanks! & hope you feel better soon), @SummerSkier, @WarmJellyfish, @username301, @yirara, @AlphaHowls (beautiful pic of your friends), @chris_in_cal!

@tarun_yadavA I hope you recover from the flu and fall quickly and the rest of the family doesn't come down with anything before your trip.
You're doing great @SummerSkier . I do not take Tippy with us when we walk Esther for walks. I did keep Esther up here a couple of times when she was younger and we'd take a walk in the neighbor's field here, but Tippy wouldn't be on leash (Esther would, because I didn't trust her to come back). That worked okay. Tippy would run in front of us and then come back. And, yes, she pulls a lot, but that is what they are bred to do. Also, barking at intruders is also what they are supposed to do, I guess, but I don't like them barking at me from behind fences either. LOL
Wow @WarmJellyfish . First snow pictures of the season. It is pretty, but I was thinking 43F (6C) was pretty cold this morning. Great job on your running.
You are doing great @username301 .
Nice running @yirara . The kayak trip sounds like fun too.
That's a great picture @AlphaHowls . Hang in there. I know it has to be really tough. Big hugs to you. The changing weather has put me in a mood too.
Great run @chris_in_cal .
@kgirlhart That sounds like a really great run! You are awesome.
Nice running @John772016 .

Thanks for all your kind words

@nossmf if you're slow as molasses, I'm a sloth! As I get older, I get slower. I've gotten to the point that I'm so happy to finish, when I cross that finish line, I picture all the couch potatoes sitting around and realize how grateful I am to be moving! Just keep running/jogging/walking (crawl if you have to)! 😀
7 -
Headed off to a hiking / biking trip. Will post my mileage when I get back!

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians on here.
I need to run today, but I am waiting for the temperature to climb a little higher 🤪

Summer in San Diego ends on Halloween. Last night it dipped down to 59° F (15° C), we're getting there. I dug out my hoodie this morning.

Still not a good run because my heartrate is still at times 20bpm lower than it should be. Which means my legs get super heavy and hurt and I have to walk. The only way to get my heartrate up is to do a sprint interval. But as that's so difficult I have to walk after the wee interval and my heartrate drops down again and remains low. Today I finally managed to get it up and to remain up some 800m before finish.6
