10k in the rain this morning while Miss 13 was at volleyball training - normally she’d go from training to school but the teachers are striking so I had to bring her home afterwards.
Very soggy here today, but warm. Spring is definitely here and I was happy in shorts and a t-shirt even though it was pouring.

Nice walks & runs @quilteryoyo, @tarun_yadavA, @yirara (sorry you're struggling), & soggy 10K @ContraryMaryMary!
Enjoy the hiking/biking trip @BigDfromNJ!
It will be likely around 5⁰ C while I'm caffeinating in the morning tomorrow @chris_in_cal though our forecast (Toronto) is oddly for 21⁰ C (woohoo!). I'm actually surprised that most of the trees around here are just starting to turn colour.

Shoot. My draft didn't save.
@tarun_yadavA I'm glad you felt like getting out for a run today.
Have fun @BigDfromNJ .
@yirara Do you know why your HR is staying so low?
Great use of your time @ContraryMaryMary . Sorry the teachers are on strike. I hope it ends soon.
@John772016 "Turkey day here 🇨🇦 so I've got a side of salmon in the oven…🤷♂️" Hahaha Being a little rebel today? Great run and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving day to all who celebrated.

Did a driveway wun after I got home from work today. I didn't think I would do very much, as I was tired and wanted to be done by 5 ish - I got off work at 4 today. But, once I got going it wasn't too bad, so I kept going for about 45 minutes. The running part was at an avg pace of 12:55 min/mile. Avg Hr was 141 with a max of 160 bpm. My splits were 13:26, 12:50, and 11:36.

Not quite, @quilteryoyo I know I'm only able to run when my heartrate is crazy high as otherwise there's not enough oxygen getting into my muscles. I do have a muscle condition, and it seems to be one of sufficient energy creation. The autonomous nervous system munches on the same limited energy, and sometimes there's not enough for everything and my body seems to chose that keeping my blood pressure up is not necessary. And when blood pooling happens then my heartrate drops down, and as a results my muscles complain. Things work better then if I increase blood pressure with medications but I don't want to take them every day because my sleep is miserable then.

Morning all.
Pure struggle bus here.
Still not breathing properly (and needing to honk 🤧 frequently); plus the stiffness on lower right back/lower right hip area (feel it when bending to pick up something/load the dishwasher (I have an excuse now!), when running - sharp or sudden bends).
Got in 5.5M at 11'18..
.
@quilteryoyo well done on the driveway wun!
@John772016 salmon? And you still had roast potatoes and gravy with that?
Hey, btw, Yorkshire pudding. Do you guys do that in Canada with your roast dinners? (I know Americans don't!)

5km this morning on the treadmill. Felt pretty good so tried to take 30secs off current pace which I did, and had enough for a little sprint for the last 200m.
In other news I logged into my old Garmin account and checked all my stats pre pandemic.
Somewhat amazingly I am now only 40secs outside my 5km time from back then. That time was pretty comfortable so I could have gone faster back then, but still, 6yrs & lets say several pounds heavier.
I am over 7 mins slower for my 10km pace, so new goal. By Christmas beat 5km & 10km pre pandemic pace.
Runs 7/18. Distance 40km/110km. Weights 3/9

Got in 5.25 miles this morning. It was nice at 52F and I was able to check out the Harvest Moon crescent with Jupiter close by.
Sorry you are still feeling bad @tarun_yadavA Hope all the aches and pains are gone soon.
Nice goals @username301
@Mari33a - how is your mom doing?

Did a 2.5 mile run with no clicking in my knee when it started I slowed a little and pushed another .5 mile!!! Still feeling great!!

Happy running everyone.
Got in a 1 hr recovery walk yesterday. Not as fast as I'd like but was a little underdressed for -7c/22f weather, had to resist the temptation to run to warm up. Supposed to warm up up to +6c this afternoon for the later run. Summer is back today!
@tarun_yadavA sorry to hear, take it easy for now.

"Driveway run"…is that running from one end of the driveway to the other, turn around and run back, repeat as needed? Basically turning your driveway into a miniature track? Yeesh, how many trips around do you need to get a reasonable distance covered?

Nice runs & walks @angf0679, @quilteryoyo, @kgirlhart, @tarun_yadavA (good on you getting it done), @username301, @Teresa502, @rennerkyler, @WarmJellyfish, & @nossmf!
Gravy on the salmon… sounds …like something one of my friends would cook…?; & …I'd say…., 'no, it's okay, …it's …good'…?
Cooking related info in the spoiler for those interested.Yorkshire pudding - Not an everyday item in my neck of the woods but really depends on the cook! There's some areas of Canada that swear by it!
I've had Yorkshire pudding twice @tarun_yadavA, both times at my buddy's house, at Christmas dinners prepared by his Mom, a truly wonderful cook, who moved from England to Windsor, On, Canada when she married her Italian hubby. Absolutely loved it, but loved everything she made.
One of my sister's made Yorkshire pudding at a family dinner years ago, but she never served it as she said it was really bad! I've never tried making it myself.
For this past Thanksgiving weekend, I wasn't able to travel to spend time with my family, which was unusual but I soldier on; That never stops me from cooking:- Fri- >baked ham & baked potatoes & veg & salad;
- Sat → a ridiculously big batch of Bolognese sauce & pasta & veg & salad;
- Sun → turkey breast with roasted root vegetables & salad;
- Mon → side of salmon, brown rice, with steamed spinach & cauliflower & salad;
My salads were using up the very last of my garden - tomatoes, arugula, thyme, basil & other herbs; - & adding items not from garden - Romaine, gorgonzola, butternut roasted seeds.
For dessert - I do cheese trays & fruit but that's about it. My friends know, if you want to bring something I like for dessert, cheese & wine works for me!Thanksgiving weekend - Lots of 'care packages' sent home with friends; lots of leftovers in my freezer for the next few weeks.

An absolutely beautiful day for a run in the city.
Once I finished up my appointments in the a.m., I skipped lunch & threw on shorts & a T' to head out in the 21⁰ C (70⁰ F) weather! No plan for the run, just followed streets/park paths as I felt like.Ran until the clouds filled up the sky & the temp dropped a bit.

Nice running @kgirlhart . I hope the coyote was at a distance.
@yirara That sounds like a lot to deal with. You do great to do what you do.
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Sorry you're still struggling. I hope you are back to at least close to normal by the time you leave for your trip.
Great run this morning @username301 . Great goals and I'm betting you will be able to meet them.
Nice run @Teresa502 .
Doing great @rennerkyler . Glad the clicking is getting better.
Yeah for a lunch break run @angf0679 .
@nossmf You're doing great. Yes, driveway run is doing laps on my driveway. My driveway is long (and hilly), so about 2.25 laps is a mile. Recently, I have been adding in a little bit of the road at the end of my driveway, up and down both sides of the hill a couple of times. It helps break up the monotony. I posted pictures recently. In case you missed them, here they are again.
Up the hill from the end of my driveway.
Down the hill from my driveway.
The beginning of my driveway.
Sounds like a great run @John772016 . The food sounds great and glad you were able to spend time with friends since you weren't able to travel to be with your family.

Did a driveway wun after work again. I got off a bit earlier today, so had a little bit more time. The run felt good. I did run a bit more before walking today - and ran up my nemesis driveway hill twice without stopping to walk. The avg pace for the running portion was 12:26 min/mile (yesterday it was 12:55). Avg HR was 146 with a max of 162 bpm. Splits were 13:10, 11:53, 12:33, and 10:02 for the last tenth of a mile.

I ran a 6 mile tempo run today. It was a good run. It was a little cooler than yesterday. I didn't see any coyotes today, just the usual cats.
@quilteryoyo The coyote was a good distance away yesterday, but I was definitely on alert today.

Morning all
Got in 3.12M at 09'42. A lot better but not yet 100%.
Thanks @Teresa502 @WarmJellyfish @quilteryoyo @John772016 ☺️
Fly Saturday. Good luck at airport @Scott6255

Ran 4.4 miles this morning. Yesterday it was 52F and this morning it was 46F. Still nice but my hands were a little cold on the first half mile. I was running on the sidewalk beside a high privacy fence this morning and I look up to see a possum waddling along the top of the fence. Luckily there wasn't any oncoming traffic as I hopped off the sidewalk and into the road to give him his space!
Glad you are feeling better @tarun_yadavA
@John772016 - I was wondering how you ate all that food (which sounds delish) and then I saw that you shared with friends and put some in the freezer for later. I've never had Yorkshire pudding. I googled to see what was in it and was a bit disappointed to see it's a savory dish and not sweet!

Happy running everyone,
Trying to get in more high aerobic training. Not quite. Short run yesterday only +5c but that wind was brutally cold. One ear started to hurt should have worn the head/ear band earlier.
3 -
Great run @kgirlhart . Good idea to be on alert for wild animals.
Glad you are feeling better @tarun_yadavA .
Great running @Teresa502 . It has been a bit cool. It's been in the low 40's here for the last week. Afternoon runs have been better temp wise. I'm sure seeing the possum startled you. Giving it space was wise.
You're doing great @WarmJellyfish .

Hey @tarun_yadavA visiting Panama sounds pretty amazing.
Also had a bit of a careless fall in my kitchen on Friday night. Lost of my footing and fell on my back. Lower back/right side a bit sore too.
It's never good timing, but I hope you are able to be loose and comfortable whilst locked into your seat for a couple hours. Please send pics, and bon voyage!

Yeah, that went super well again because I used some medication (offlabel) to get my heartrate up. Super easy, super relaxed breathing even right after my minisprints, legs happy, heartrate high as usual. Super happy with this run, and it was so much fun in perfect, cool yet fairly windstill autumnweather.2 -
I ran 5.00M at 13'22
My Garmin gave a new guestimate of my MaxHR=174bpm
