Allie - Healing thoughts winging your way. Hope things are going well.

At ceramics found out they DID have the paint I needed, someone else had the full bottle. Oh well….I’ll do the crab and then Raggedy Andy
They worked on the deck today. Got about ½ of what he was anticipating done, mostly putting up the joists. I got some of the ceramics in
M – I make pierogi once a year. They are a lot of work but well worth it
Heather – have a wonderful trip
Melanie – I think it’s so sad that there can never be another Woodstock. Someone would ruin it.
Rebecca – if and when we sell those beanie babies, I would sell the whole lot at one time. Just can’t be bothered to package them
The holiday: it looks like it’ll be just Vince and me. C & J are going to Idaho to see his mother. Well, they SHOULD see her some. There is no way Denise is going to come down here. Another couple we knew from bowling that doesn’t have any family around here (they came once before) isn’t bowling, not sure what the story is. The other couple we had over one year since they were alone and we were alone so we were alone together has moved to TX.
Rita – so glad you got to talk to your son and he’s in a good place for him (rehab)
Went with Vince to bowling mainly so I could see some of the other people from Newcomers. Now home and I think I’ll get ready for bed. No work tomorrow so I’ll do a 20/40/60 workout at the gym.

Allie ((hugs)) hope you can check in with us soon.
Machka “…bad weather makes me feel tired, lethargic, and unmotivated…” Me2. WOW What views! Thought provoking article on the 50 things before I die…
Kylia “…I really dislike doing things on the dark and cold evenings…” Ditto!
Flea con VERY gratulations on the improved kidney numbers! Well done!
Carol lovely homecoming pics of the grands. (gentle hugs held extra extra long) for you and prayers for your DH.
Rebecca sounds like you have found balance in your eating program. Well done!
Heather bon voyage and safe travels!
Michele I don’t really understand why replacing the deck requires cutting into your ceiling… Sure hope it’s quickly repaired and with little mess/disruption.
Kylia thanks for explaining about your DH’s injured brain, well done on keeping from being pulled into his drama and Halelujah that he is finally realizing how (little) his sister works/contributes to the family biz.
Lanette that WAS a close call. Whew!
Melanie no 80 yr olds getting preggers on your watch? ROTFLMAO
Later, lighter, lovelies!

I’m here… trying to read but am too stressed for time and just stressed to respond right now.
The NB family knows we’ve changed the bank accounts around. They learned when they tried to get another loan in MIL’s name.
Pleasant calls tonight. I feel that everyone down there is being manipulative.

Hello All,
I have been so tired that Rose and I slept all day yesterday and today. I did do some painting, and finished a book that was about a 3.5 rating. I baked some pumpkin-spiced muffins. This time with spiced cake mix and one can of pumpkin. They were so moist, I added sugar-free white chocolate and Milk chocolate. I sifted some powdered sugar on top. Since I do not know how to use my double oven, I used my Breville to bake them. I love my Breville, but it looks too well-loved. It works great, and it may go to Chicago. I think the only treats I am going to pass out are dog treats to my friends with dogs.
Rose has a treat coming from friends with dogs. DH worked 3 days at his new job. Now he is going to the Texas border for the Mennonite Mission Network. My email is shut down because I have to delete some messages, and it has 519,000. I am that bad at checking email. I am going to take an excellent shower and read a new story on my Kindle. A wet box ruined my study guide book for my Peds certification review. When it arrived yesterday, it was too wet to use the book—mid-80s here in MS. Cleaned out my other closet. The last thing I need to do is try on a few dresses to make sure they are not too big. Then I can donate.Lanette, the job I got is at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. My current boss is going to keep me on to train students. We are starting with one baby at the center first. As for jobs in Chicago, I am working on my Illinois license by doing my CEU courses. I did sign the offer to buy my house. Even though I thought it was a low offer.
Michelle, I believe we are already friends on FB. In fact, I got a couple of recipes from your page.
Allie, how are you doing after surgery today?
Carol, your granddaughter is beautiful, and your grandson has a lot of hair. I know the girls are after him. Is your DH sleeping a lot, or does he talk to you when you are there? Is he allowed to walk around? If not, PT needs to exercise his legs if his heart can tolerate it. Write down a list of questions you may have for the doctor. I always forget, and I find it helpful to write down questions and concerns. I am praying for you guys.
Kylia, it sounds like you had fun with your girls.
Bon voyage, Heather and Jon. I hope he packed his new shirt, for that will look cute on him. Have fun and be safe.
Machka, those pictures of the bay are so beautiful. I was wondering how the bees will fare in this weather? I wonder if they flew south for the winter, too.
Rebecca, your grands are so cute as well. When will you see them again?
Lisa, I am curious about what you are working on. Painting or writing or both?
Melanie, I would have been so tired after all of that cooking. I have had a reprieve for the last three years. Good luck with your presentation.
Tracey, how is your daughter doing? She is really enjoying her time with her grandmother. It does my heart good to see that. I hate that you had to return to work so soon.
Well, I wish you all a good night. I hope I am in better spirits tomorrow. I have been so tired lately. My headache was dull but present most of the day. Now, I am just exhausted. A nurse made a meme about staying in bed the entire three days he is off. It sounds like it is familiar with some nurses.
Good night, everyone!

Tracey, when I got my mom, she didn't have any food, and her phone and electricity were out. The bank showed me how these young people would take my mom there, withdraw all of her money, and leave her with nothing. My mom paid $583.00 for their home, not hers. When we drove from MS to visit her in Tennessee, they rushed over and covered it up. Then my mom called, upset. So we had to make sure they didn't take any more money from her. They were greedy. If they only did a little and kept her fed, we wouldn't have known, even though red flags were flying. As for the calls, I wish they would call me. Their little feeling would have gotten hurt. Tracey, your SIL, had better stop harassing you and your MIL; they will end up in jail. I went to talk about the one stealing from my mom. They will end up in prison like the ones who stole from my mom. Tracey writes a list of things you need to do because the process is long and disheartening. Your MIL's name needs to be cleared. They should be ashamed of themselves. See if you can contact the mortgage company as well. Maybe you can sell the house. Your MIL needs to be away from them—hugs to you and your MIL. We had to hire an attorney as well.

Good morning my friends!
Yesterday was a challenge. My Uncle is home on hospice, so Dad and I went to the grocery store. We got them a card and flowers, and mini muffins to share, and a quiche for an easy dinner. When I got home, I asked Dad to move the garbage can that he left in the wrong place. He was standing there, just holding on to it. I got out of the car and came around as he collapsed to the concrete garage floor. He rested a few minutes but did not pass out. After a few minutes he wanted to get up despite his dizziness, so I got him into the house and got him some water. I put away the frozen groceries, and he was still dizzy. So we went off to the emergency room.
His tests were all normal, and the dizziness passed with the IV fluids, so I suspect dehydration. No fractures. Yay! We were there five hours, and there was some talk of admitting him to the hospital for further testing on his heart and observation. But we just came home because his heart has always been great and he would be confused by the hospital. We missed lunch so we went out to eat on the way home.
So I still have stuff to give my uncle but I can't leave my Dad to go across the street. Or maybe I can. It would only take five minutes and their front door is within sight of our windows. I did call my aunt and she said my uncle who is 98 had a very bad day yesterday. Dad is 91, and my Aunt is 91.
So Dad has an appointment about hearing aids today. He missed a dentist appointment yesterday. He reported a little more dizziness last night. I will get him a follow up visit with his primary care.
So that's my update. I am hoping he will wake up just fine. He had already forgotten falling by last night.
May today be a better day. May you all be happy healthy safe and free!

Machka — those pictures of the bay are so beautiful. I was wondering how the bees will fare in this weather? I wonder if they flew south for the winter, too.
During the winter, most of the bees stayed home in their hive. They are out and about now but we think they're frustrated, getting blown all over the place.
Going south from Tasmania would get you to Antarctica - even colder! North is where its warmer. But no, bees don't travel when it gets colder.
At the start of winter, they reduce their population by killing off most of the drones (males) and the Queen stops laying. Then they make propolis to close up any holes to block any drafts, and they huddle together to keep warm and they eat the honey they've stored up.
A couple more pictures … the first is a zoomed close-up shot with my good camera, the second is one of many sunsets.

Melanie-Fear of Failure- I get it! It still affects me every day. We can't learn if we don't try though. You've got this! Just talk like you talk to us, you will be fine. Plus if anyone doesn't think so, then they should have done it themselves!
I ordered a new hot tub cover last week. Mine is 13yo and weighs a ton! The weight cones from the foam having soaked up water after the deterioration of the plastic around it. Average life is 3-5 yrs. I just thought i was getting weaker! It is a workout to open and sounds like a gunshot when I close it. The new one will insulate better as well since ot won't be waterlogged. That should help the electric bill. Should be here in January.
Almost 15,000 steps yesterday! Was too tired to get there as I needed about 500 steps. Still proud of myself. It just goes along with the theme this
month...."almost there". Almost all the warranties filed. Almost all the estimates done. Almost done with the Stihl spring order. I have some dones though. Just need to complete the almost done! Maybe today as I won't be running solo at work.😉
Speaking of which.....
Prayers! Hugs! High Fives! Loves!

Machka- love the "list". Thank you for information on bees. I too wondered.

Kylia - Thanks for the Allie update. Silence makes it easy to assume the worst.
Rebecca - Didn't you have the same surgery Allie just had? How was your recovery?
Heather - Love the watercolor!
Mo - The answer to your question on whether I'm writing or painting, what I'm working on right now is kind of "all of the above." I'm repainting the side of my refrigerator again, not sure how that's going to turn out. I'm crocheting the sleeves and collar of a cardigan for my daughter, and working on an afghan for my son-in-law that's meant to be reminiscent of a football field, kelly green, with white stripes every ten rows… and I am not fond of kelly green. Oh well. I'm halfway through and committed. He will love it. I do not. And am very glad it will not be living at my house after it's completed.
Oh - and in the category of "what do I do with this," I have the three glass lamp shades that were on the old kitchen light fixture - pictured here. I think I'm going to use oven-fired clay to turn them into something else. Possibly a lamp - that's what my brain keeps turning to. As you can see by the stacked pictures, they're already set up for being wired, with openings all the way through, and it wouldn't take much to make them look like a very eclectic kind of lamp. I'd be using the clay to build a base and some kind of belt around the areas where they connect.
Still thinking about how to do that, but will need to pick up some clay conditioner—I have a whole box full of different colors of clay, but it needs a bit of help, as it gets a little hard after sitting for a year or two. Which it has done.
But along the lines of doing things, Corey's really pushing me to stop pushing myself too hard, and I'm really trying to pay attention (swear!), so a couple things I wanted to do yesterday fell down the priority list. All I accomplished yesterday was getting the rugs washed and out on the line to dry, and the floors under them vacuumed and mopped.
Wiped me right out - so the rest of the day was crocheting while watching the 2022-23 season of the Great Pottery Throwdown on Roku. Which would be where I got the idea to work on the lampshades. :) Still need to get the hardware on the replacement bedroom door, and get it swapped in for the old one on our bedroom. And put all the hardware on the exercise room doors. And it all might wait until the weekend - Corey's got vacation he has to take before the year's over, and he's taking Monday and Tuesday off - plus a week each in November and December.
And as to why we are all here… I am gaining weight like crazy—my appetite is completely off the chain. I'm hoping it's just the remainder of my thyroid being whack, and once the higher dosage kicks in, it will come off, but don't trust that, am not happy about it, and really need to rein it in. My next Skyrizi injection is next week. It's possible that it's working so well that it's turning me back into a very healthy, but quite chunky, old lady.
Really feeling that weight gain in my ouchy old knees, too.
The only one who can do anything about it is me…
Later, my dears,
Love,
Lisa in AROh! And I forgot to mention that Corey put the kibosh on moving that extremely heavy buffet to the exercise room, because it would have to go around a very right-angled u-turn, and it is not exactly bendable. I hate it when he's right about things like that! 👀😂🥰 But it means I'm still thinking about another way to get my rather large unused TV in there and useful for exercising. Might require a trip to the thrift store. I have an entire trunk full of items to donate. Rather than piling it in the house, when I find something that needs to be donated, I always go ahead and get it in my Kicks and ready to drop off the next time I'm in town.
Time to move books! And do other stuff.

Annie - Hugs to you. It’s difficult deciding which course of action to take.
Mo - thank you. I feel like my SIL and niece are just manipulating more and more. Some of it sounds logical, but there are missing pieces not being answered.
Kylia - thanks for the update on Allie.
I’m awake early, hoping to make some calls today with my MIL before I go to work.

😀 I have replanted nearly all of the special iris I pulled up and thinned. There are about ten more tasks to do outside to get the yard ready for winter. If I do one each day, I'll be finished by the end of October. Then I can tidy the garage.
😀 By the time I do yard work for the day, I have no mental energy for calling and making appointments. I need to call for an appointment to have a bone density test. Medicare pays only every two years and my last one was in October two years ago and I don't see my doctor until February so there's no hurry. It's time to call and schedule the yearly maintenance for my furnace and heat pump. It has generally been done in December.
😀 I consistently go to my meetings on Zoom, eat my regular meals, ride my exercise bike, walk, and spend time with the dogs. I have lots of time for reading and have a new book waiting for me at the library so Annie and I will drive over there when they open this morning. I ordered several used books from eBay to fill in series' that I'd started but couldn't find the next book at the library or paperback swap.
😀 Even in our good weather, I see very few people in my neighbourhood outside.
😀 I'm am consistently colder than other people. I routinely wear long sleeves and long pants. I often wear three long sleeve shirts and sometimes a hat in the house and keep the thermostat at 72 during the day. Outdoors I have warm jackets and hats and in the winter wear fleece leggings under my long pants. I love the change of seasons. I would be very bored in the lower latitudes where the weather is more consistently the same.

I noticed my post didn’t load up . My pace for yesterday’s 7 mi run was 10.36 min mi.
The guys may be coming in tomorrow to do the carpet and floor tomorrow! Kirby’s got the bedroom wall painted now I have to do the trim while the old carpet is still in. He said that he will help us move stuff to do the bedrooms. We can stuff things in the master bathroom and we can use the spare bathroom if necessary. I’m glad we don’t have a lot of stuff to move around. Because of the sudden rush, I’m not going to do the 8 mile run at the gym today. Well just walk the kids then I’ll get to painting. Exciting stuff.

Tracey - good luck straightening out things for MIL. Unfortunately, the elderly are most often taken advantage of by family members and friends.
Rita - hope your son can get and stay on track.
Allie - wish you quick and successful healing
I am busy trying to get ready for next surgery in November. Saw my Endo and oncologist yesterday. After surgery in April tumor marker had dropped significantly (from 44 to 7.7). It has gone back up to 13. Nothing showing on scans so we watch and wait as we always do. Endo did tweak one of my thyroid meds-hope that helps with weight!
Meeting with my nephew who is a lawyer in a bit. Updating will and living will.
Take care all,

Not sure how things are done in Canada, but I would suggest having your MIL put a freeze on her credit reports. No loans of any kind can be opened without her knowledge. It's free to do.
Editing to add: Getting a lawyer makes the most sense.

Trying to decide between a bike ride or a swim today. Not sure I have the time to drive to town to swim and the weather looks good today so think I’ll go with the bike.
My kids had some good stories from their day at the auction mart. Clocked in at 6:15am and clocked out at 10:30pm. The truck broke down with 6 horses in the trailer about halfway home so my husband had to go rescue them around 11:30. Luckily we have 2 trucks and trailers.
The crew is coming here for lunch to try and finish up the thanksgiving leftovers. My husband and I will be away from late Friday afternoon to late Saturday. A horse sale then a 90 year olds birthday. It’s his mom’s twin sisters. And I really need to light a fire under myself to get this PowerPoint done 😬
Mo- I thought my husband was bad with 1000 sitting in his inbox!
Rebecca- good job on fitting Taco Bell into your daily goal 😋
Kylie- good job on the steps.
Tracy- oh for the love of family 😒 I feel for you. Have a lot of strained relations with my husband’s siblings. I hope things can get sorted out quickly for you. I can’t imagine the stress you are under 🩷
Barbie- I run cold as well. As I’ve gotten older it has become painful to be cold. I loved fall, and used to be a winter person but that has faded.
Pip- strong pace 🏃🏼♀️➡️
Ginny- wising you well 💗
Machka- that reminds me of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Beautiful.
Heather- beautiful painting!
Take care of yourselves,
Melanie, Alberta

Yes, I did have kind of the same surgery. But I had one offending large calcium eating parathyroid, and she was having all (3?) removed. Definitely more extensive surgery. I had a inch incision on my neck, and a drain for a day. I stayed overnight as well. Its minimally invasive but the overnight stay is to make sure there's no bleeding.
She will be sore.

How exciting, changing things into how you want them! In all my military housing, and rental days, I have never painted a wall! Enjoy the change, you will most likely get in a lot more exercise than you realize.👍🏼

Hello Ladies! I just finished up skimming October. I’ve gotten pretty terrible at keeping up with you all. I do recall some good news from a few of you and that makes me smile.
Allie-Hoping surgery went well.
Sue-How are you doing after your fall? Did I miss a follow up?Heather-You sounded excited through your anxiety about your cruise. Have a wonderful time!
Rebecca-Congrats on your weight loss. I can see it in your lovely face. And I cannot believe how tall Athena has gotten! They shoot up like weeds!Machka-Like others have said, I’m in awe about what you accomplish. Kylia too. I feel the less I do, the less I want to do. I need to make busy to-do lists.
Tracey-You’re a good person.Kay-What a tragic story. So sorry to hear of it.
Lisa-Your house is transformed. It looks so much brighter.
Lanette-I enjoyed that story about the man hitting on you. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and think he truly was motivated for friendship. However, it’s sometimes hard for men and women to be friends. There are “hang ups” that make it far more difficult than it needs to be.Annie-You are performing a very difficult job right now. Be kind to yourself. On another note, I just read that there are people who successfully bathe without soap and are not offensive. Long explanation, but it made sense. Maybe get him to stand in the shower for a minute will help. It might take a while, but supposedly your body adjusts and rebalances. Similar theory to why we shouldn’t shampoo our hair every day.
There are many more comments and goings-ons, I know. So hugs to those who need them.
I have a podiatry appt next week. I’m preparing for the cortisone shots. I just cannot kick this plantar fasciitis. I want to be able to walk long distances and still stand up without holding onto furniture the next day.
I am back on my regular weight lifting routine. Hopefully I can see my muscles take shape again soon.
I’ve stopped the daily 3 mile walks in an attempt to heal my feet. No real luck, so I’ll be starting those again. I’ve found that critical for weight management.

If we ever need to go down to San Diego regarding our youngest son, whether it be surgery, or whatever, we need to hook up! We told our son if he has to have surgery for his Crohn's, we would be there in a nanosecond.💖👍🏼
Thanks for the kind words!💖🤗
