@NonnieDoiron glad your day was better than expected, and you didn’t have to be the one to attend to your MIL. I hope it went well for her, though. That’s horrible about your friends MIL! Good Lord! As for what to do after a nice shower and jammies, I love the idea of crocheting something simple. Do you want to do this activity while watching TV with your hubby! I usually read because he is invariably watching some sport that I’m not interested in! Haha! But at least I’m next to him, which I love.

@WestCoastGirl_1 just delete the friend requests-I never ever even check my MFP “mail”. I get friend requests from strangers on Facebook too, which I also ignore!

I finally had a “whoosh” on the scale. Yay! I swear I’m ready for some nice liposuction to get rid of this excess pudge around my middle!

@NonnieDoiron Sorry to hear about you MIL's sister. You would think people would be aware of this by now. For a while, my husband and I were watching re-runs of Dr Phil in the early morning. They were filmed many years ago. Your MIL's sister's story sounds so familiar to those stories. Their family members would try to convince she/he that they were being scammed, but they refused to believe it. There were times that the scammer would say they owned a home in the US. Dr Phil would send his team to that location and the address would be a vacant lot, etc. They would question neighbors and the neighbors (most of which had lived there for a long time) did not recognize the scammer's photos (which were stolen off social media websites). He even had the person in the photo come on the show to convince the person that they were not talking to him or her.

Once I got a recorded phone call from my credit union saying there was suspected fraud on my account. I didn't call back thinking it was a scam. I logged into my online banking and it was true. Somebody cleaned out my checking and savings (less than $1000). The credit union returned my money.

Another time, I received a debit card from a credit union that I had never even heard of. It was in Oregon, but not in my area. I called the CU and it turns out the person opened an account and took out a $9500 loan in my name. Back in the old days you had to go into the bank and sign. But, now you can open an account online. They closed that account and I wasn't liable for the loan. I now have a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies and my accounts are frozen. I just have to unfreeze them if I want to buy something involving a loan.

The last couple of days, I've been hearing about a scam involving crypto atm machines. Unfortunately, most of the victims are elderly. I don't even know what crypto or bitcoins are and I don't want to. I guess it's fake money…no thanks!

If I get a call from some sort of agency or financial institution, I don't reply and call the agency or financial institution directly if I have any questions.

BTW…you've been doing awesome! You must be feeling good!

@Womona I don’t know how to crochet though I have tried. I get confused and give up. I do knit though. I was working on a afghan and messed up, so I quit. I might pick it back up again when it gets colder (just so I have something to keep me warm). I was thinking about picking up my cross stitching again too. I was doing a collection of lighthouses about 20-30 years ago and never finished. I still have everything, so I could start that again. We’ll see.

Sunday, did share the almond champagne with my husband while watching the game(s).

Was busy most of Monday and had puppy training in the evening. Picked up Gyros afterward as it was too late to cook. Ordered 2, that only heard 1 which turned out to be a good thing as it forced us to split it :). Had a couple glasses of wine while watching the rest of the Bears game.

Tuesday and Wednesday were good. Now, to continue on…

Finally catching up on sleep. Lola is up to 8 hours sleeping the past couple of nights!

    @SparkSpringtime69 ~ you are winning…less is less.

@nbruns83~ that is great that you are pausing after just one glass or even less. I've stopped at two and find that amazing as well. I do find that a good quality wine is more satisfying, and consequently, I drink less of it.

@WestCoastGirl_1 ~ Lola had caused me to totally redecorate my home! I have a unit at my front door with three storage drawers. Those storage drawers now hold shoes. She's so smart though, I'm afraid she will be opening those drawers soon! I have 17 friend request sitting … I just let them sit…it's easy to see the duplicates and yes, you are correct..none of them have been on for very long.

@NonnieDoiron ~ You've got a great plan for your December travels. You will succeed! What was your interesting dinner? I made a ground chicken meatloaf yesterday and it was really good. Served with steamed broccoli. That's horrible re your MIL's sister… it sounds like she's still connected….that's sad.

@Michieb125 ~ Your trip sounds heavenly. And Happy Birthday Week!!! Lola is doing well with the training and house breaking. The only challenge I have with her is the biting of ankles and toes. Ouch. It's my understanding that you are supposed to just stop and do nothing until she stops….but sometimes that's very difficult. I've also heard to redirect her to a toy or something but then she thinks it's a game….

@Womona ~ I bet your outside decor looks great. Where do you store the stuff from the boat? Hopefully not permanently in the sun room 😂

@2timesacharmmfp , Nice win! I think waiting a few minutes for the urge to pass is huge.

    Have a great LA day!!!

    Hi Guys,

I was telling @Womona that I was trying to drink unsweetened coconut water everyday for the electrolytes. It is also supposed to be a natural diuretic. I'm not crazy about it, although it's not bad. Then I discovered that it tastes pretty good as a mixer 🤔

I drank one and a half 11.2 oz boxes yesterday. And, yes, I was using it as a mixer. Anyways, I discovered it is a natural diuretic. I forgot to take one of my sleep medications. I went to bed at 10:30 and woke up around 12:30 and needed to pee. After that, I had to use the bathroom every hour or so. This morning, I weighed 4 tenths of a pound less than yesterday. So I'm going to keep drinking it. I figure it may get rid of some of the bloat.

@xbowhunter It's encouraging to hear that cutting back has improved your sleep quality. That's something I'm looking forward to.

And, yes, I am still working on quitting. I'm aware of what all the benefits will be. It's just a bit difficult at this time. Stay tuned!

    Have a great day everyone!

Checking in…HOW CUTE IS THAT COSTUME, @NonnieDoiron ??? She's amazing!

I'm doing ok. Got back from a weekend with my sister determined to be AF for a bit. Got 2 AF days under my belt then my SO's aunt and uncle came into town and we got some comped rooms at the local casino for a night of debauchery 😂 We had a good time, but back to AF last night and hopefully continued for a bit.

Hope all is well. I have been reading just not much time for responding.

@NonnieDoiron sorry to hear about your computer crashing and losing all that work! Ugh!!! On a happier note, your daughter’s costume looks amazing.

@Chicbuc glad you had a great time!

@xbowhunter and @Michieb125 I agree, I have so much better sleep and am so much more productive when I don’t drink the night before. @tmbg1 nice starts!

I caved and had a glass of wine last night at home with dinner, though we didn’t do our usual wine night after work. I kept it to one and still slept well, so I’m happy about that. Tonight is swing my nephew in the marching band, so I won’t drink tonight. By the time we get home I will be ready to go to bed!

Thanks @chicbuc and @Womona. She loves her cosplay stuff, and she is particularly thrilled with this mask. The mask actually spins!

Tonight the girl child’s youth group is going to the corn maze. In years past, I have indulged in a glass of wine while waiting for them to figure out the maze. This year, I will try to pass on that. Maybe I’ll just call the bestie and talk her ear off to avoid doing it.

@mfowler883 thank you for the mushroom info - I think going with some type of beginners kit would definitely be a good place for me to start.

@2timesacharmmfp nice win skipping the martini for tea the other night.

@xbowhunter thank you for listing all of the benefits you've been seeing, it's definitely inspiring to read.

@itladyee thank you for all the encouragement. Glad to hear the pup's doing well.

@NonnieDoiron your daughter's costume is awesome!

AF last night, although I did want a nice warming cognac after watching my nephew march in the band and sitting through half of a cold football game! But, God Bless my husband. He talked me out of it. Glad he did, because I slept well and my skin looks awesome this morning!

Because I had one glass of wine on Thirsday night, I woke up puffier around the eyes yesterday. Hmmm. Vanity, thy name is woman.

One habit I’m breaking that is helping tremendously is not looking at my phone when I get back from my invariable trip to the ladies room at 2:00AM. Boy, does that improve the quality of my sleep!

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

@xbowhunter ah, that “it’s X day of the week, time to open the bottle” habit is a tough one. I think that’s why I wanted wine on Thursday night because that’s what I’m conditioned to do. It felt a little weird yesterday to not drink on a weekend night!

    I’m sure you’ll crush it!

YAY! Stayed AF at the corn maze last night. Had a cup of coffee instead. Sat on a swing, and waited for the girl child’s to get all her teenager socializing done for the night. I would have just left and come back to get her, but the farm is an hour away. So, I just hung around. She had a blast though because all her friends were there.

The husband’s friend’s 5 year old’s birthday party is today. We have to drive over an hour away for it. The things I do for this man!
