Carol so sorry to hear of your husband’s passing, sending you {{{Hugs}}}.
Annie {{{Hugs}}} for you also on the passing of your uncle. I agree with other ladies here, sharing happy memories of your uncle will be nicer than pretty much anything else you could say.
Heather looks like a grand trip! Definitely smart to pace yourself, but too bad you had to pass on the wander around Santa Cruz. Happy Belated Birthday to John!
Melanie sorry to hear about the coyotes near and on your property! They are sneaky indeed…. The cow story is kinda funny in a pain in the *kitten* way. “Cows being cows” lol. I hear you about the bingeing. I too know what to do, it’s just actually doing it that’s the tricky part.
Lisa truly hope that Corey comes down off that roof using the ladder and not taking any “short cuts”!
Kylia I have that poinsettia Lego set too! I enjoyed putting it together although I had a few issues with various pieces also. Can’t remember the specifics now but I do remember some confusion and frustration. But I did it and so did you! Yay us!! lol
Pip, the renos look great! I especially love the wall in the master bedroom, huge improvement!
That’s all for me for now, scale is being challenging, losing and gaining the same two pounds, ugh. But now got things to do and places to go so off I must!
Hugs for those needing them, congrats to those celebrating (I know I missed a couple of birthdays) and welcome to any new gals!

Carol - I am so sorry about your husband's passing. I know you're already tired from the last month. Please take care of yourself.

Melanie - I've been using the HABIT acronym on myself a lot. Five questions - Am I eating out of Habit? Annoyed? Bored? In pain? Tired? If I'm actually hungry, I eat. If any of those are the reason I'm headed for the fridge, I try to do something else for five minutes. Being eminently distractable, that usually heads it off long enough for me to get an hour of peace without food.
Next, I need to work on WHAT I'm eating, as well.

Carol ((HUGS))) so very, very sorry to hear this. Deepest condolences. 4 weeks was a long time to be in the hospital, and I know he'd been dealing with declining health for the past year. You're in my prayers.
Melanie - I am so sorry to hear about the coyotes attacking. Have you folks considered livestock guardian dogs? A pair of Anatolian Shepherds or Great Pyr (who like to sleep in the snow) or similar to keep the predators away? It's probably late in the season to bring in pups. We brought in a full grown Maremma (smaller version of a Pyr) after neighbor dogs tore up our goats and didn't lose a kid or lamb until she got old and passed away. Such a worry. (((HUGS)))
Heather - I'm really enjoying those photos. Sounds like you're having good weather so able to get out and about, when you can, without having to deal with rain and wind. That volcano crater looks just like Mt. St. Helens which is not far from me.
Lisa - crossing fingers Corey gets that roof business taken care of without mishap. Sorry your little gal helper wasn't able to finish the job.
Tina - glad to see you popping in. Good luck with the higher protein, that might help get the metabolism revved up.
Have a great week, ladies!

Melanie:
I strive for 90-95% in sticking with my eating plan. That allows me to have something when sticking to the plan is difficult or when I want to celebrate. We celebrated my youngest's birthday last night, and I had a gf brownie that was most definitely not whole foods. But everyone else was having a glutenous rich chocolate cake, so my little brownie was a better choice than the alternative.
And I guess that's how I think. What is the best choice in this situation? It doesn't mean I'm going to start eating brownies every day. But I did save out one more for later, then sent the rest of them home with my daughter who is also celiac.
But it's a struggle, so I hear you.

Heather - I was scrolling UP the page, and caught up to that pic and just lingered over it, enjoying the composition of it. Love the birds on a wire… especially against the layer cake of wildly straight line of intense blue water, a puffy layer of clouds, like the birds could dip their feet in it, very nearly, and that lovely sky frosted with a little more clouds - and then read your note! Hug him for me… I love things like that so much.
I began my refrigerator painting over AGAIN this morning, wiped out what little progress I'd made. Still thinking about it. Did make some house numbers out of air-dry clay, though, and have those well… air drying. :)
Was inspired to play with clay while enjoying watching the most recent Great Pottery Showdown that they've got on Roku. Broke down and got a Roku Stick, as much as anything because it wasn't a subscription, just a one-time payment. Unlike my smart TV, though, which is all live TV channels, hundreds of them, I can pause the shows and go back to them. Roku has all the old Great British Baking Shows and Great British Sewing Bees, as well. Starting to write with an accent again! 😂🥰🤷🏻♀️Anglophiles are not to be trusted with too much British media… 👀😍
I'm inside talking to y'all while Corey is outside playing with siding and tools, and muttering about "dry rot." Which I wish he had not said in my hearing. I fed him lunch, as he would have just skipped it entirely had I not. So he ate his and half of mine.
I'm going to go back to trying to grind down the bedroom door edge so it will fit correctly. Not my favorite thing, but needs must…
Later, y'all,
Love,

MFP Weekly Check-In 10-20-25
Debbie in Napa Valley CA - haven't weighed in a few weeks- today- 156.4(dressed) need to get back on track.
Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast-
Week ending: Oct 19 Oct 12
Avg WT 131.7 131.4
Avg steps 4098 4000
AF days 71% 43%
Ps@2s habit solid but still no easier .... No knee and shoulder PT, BB&B/PT knee lifts, split squats, dynamic balance, or chair yoga, foo.
Two clearcut walks with Joe and the dogs, hooray! One hour line dancing, Monday but stayed home with the dogs Wednesday.
Sue in WA - Last week was a good one for me. I seemed to have more energy and got a lot done. I averaged over 6000 steps per day and tried something new, a half hour meditation called a "sound bath". It was similar to the crystal singing bowls I had attended when I lived in SD but she used drum and Tibetan bowls with a guided meditation. It was relaxing and I will go again. I lost about 1.5 pounds this week. Now to see if I can keep it up.
Lanette in SW WA State – Weight staying in range. Logging most days. Average daily steps this past week: 7970, up a bit from last week. Discontinuing early morning walks outside right now due to cold and/or wet, walking in house 15 minutes, carrying weights, instead. Still walking 10 minutes after most meals, carrying weights. Still averaging SWSY 2-3X per week. Seems like it’s taking longer to recover with this cooler weather.

Sadly- the day was LONG( up at 3:45, out the door at 4:30AM and got home at 8:30PM-we did stop and visit a friend of mine for not quite 2 hrs in Gilroy), and the sales were low. $400 for a 7hr show with the expenses and hours put in to get there, set up, take down, drive home, plus bridge toll, plus the cost of materials to make the stuff- was not worth it to us. Thankfully the next few shows will be closer- One is an hour away but, very close to mom's so we will stop in and see her before driving home.
3 shows in the next 4 weeks is a bit much but then we are taking at least 6-8 weeks off with no shows. We are also not booking any of these little shows that are so far away. We will do Stockton I think in January and Lodi but those will be the furthest out and we know exactly what these shows are like.
I have never done Stockton but the guys have each year, at least once, sometimes twice a year- two day shows. He wants me to go help with that one this spring.
Otherwise- Sacramento will be the furthest we do-that is one hour away.Had to bake a cake when we got home that night for the potluck at church the next morning- made one of the simplest cakes ever- one box of cake mix and one can of soda- that is it. Mix together and bake for 25 min. I used chocolate cake and Coke Zero and a tub of chocolate frosting. Came home with very little which is a change.
You can use any cake mix and any soda combination- Orange soda with either lemon or white cake mix, fruit punch and white cake mix, Dr.Pepper with spice cake or chocolate, Cherry Coke with chocolate……………… endless possibilities
