Nice runs & walks everyone!
Think I was behind about 95+ posts when I logged on today, so liked(!) my way through to catch up…impressive work! Wish I could comment on all of them!Congrats on the 2025 goal achieved @kgirlhart! I'm nowhere near mine! & very sincere Congrats on helping those Cross Country runners become more visible! You will end up really helping one of them in the future. That can save a life. You will never know.
Congrats @Scott6255 on the 15K! Lol! on the '…making her nervous, just go…' & truly awesome result for your brother & his new hip!
It's a wonderful result on your own 15K…you didn't think you could do it a short time ago!Beautiful family @tarun_yadavA! Glad your enjoying your trip!
Posting 7 days, & unfortunately minimal running for me.

Flew to Montreal last Wed & only got one short treadmill run done while there, but did a bunch of wonderful walking.
My buddies were not runners & I unfortunately didn't pack correctly for running in Montreal! - would've been fine in the shorts, socks, & shoes I brought, but the short tees didn't work.
I really needed my warmer running tee's & definitely my running glove's!
Way too chilly in the a.m. ….. while everyone's sleeping off last night.
Oh well, next time better planning. On the way home ended up catching a cold? or a very mild case of Covid!?!, which sidelined me for a bit. I hunkered down at home, luckily I had a ton of food leftover from the holiday weekend so I didn't have to head out in the public.
Feeling back to mostly normal today, though still really tired so took another rest day.
Posting a couple of architectural Montreal pics.Couldn't post food or drink photos without asking my buddies that were in them if they were okay with & they were in all food & extensive drink photos!

Thank you @John772016 @quilteryoyo ☺️
Lovely to see you back @polskagirl01
@Teresa502 Costa Rica v Panama.
Costa Rica is agricultural and eco tourism. They pride themselves on having no military and the whole 'Pura vida' thing.
This place is way more commercialised. The currency here is the US Dollar; Panamanian Balboa is a currency is in name only. At Half million $ per canal crossing - you can see the difference a city skyline with skyscrapers etc.
Costa Rica capital San Jose is like the equivalent of the Old Town here in Panama city
5 -
Great tennis @quilteryoyo
Loving the pics @tarun_yadavA if ypu get some Balboa notes I will give you GBP for them.
I promise my lack of running, or exercise in general is a really busy week and not lack of motivation. Back on it tommorow.
Happy hump day x

Good morning! I ran 4.4 miles with friends this morning and celebrated one of the ladies birthday afterwards with homemade banana bread and fresh fruit. Traveling to Aruba tomorrow and plan to run while there but I know the heat and humidity will zap me pretty quickly!
@John772016 - what lovely photos of Montreal. Glad you had fun and are feeling better.
@tarun_yadavA - I need to put Panama on my travel list. It sounds lovely. I've been to Costa Rica and don't really feel the need to return!
@angf0679 - I was on a call yesterday with some Canadians and they were overjoyed with the Blue Jays.

Morning all
Got in 4.48M at 09'48.
Hot out here.
Fly to FL tomorrow. Couple of nights at my Ft Laudy friends' place.

Happy running everyone!
@tarun_yadavA @John772016 Awesome photos!
Monday was a recovery day so did a short walk. As usual due to my crappy sleep, Garmin turned yesterday's planned tempo run into a base run, but I'm wiser now, so I did a separate tempo workout anyways, need more high aerobic work. Ended up more threshold than tempo 😂. I think my lungs are slowly returning, made it through the 4th interval without running out of air. I think using the right zone plan helped but I also could up the pace somewhat. Tonight's planned run is a wash due to a still dropping low HRV status, with many days of the now normal red triangle, the usual crappy sleep, as Garmin tells me my training readiness is 1 out of a 100 🙄. Still going for it anyway 😛 wanna test to see how low my HRV can go 😈. My problem is that my brain still thinks I'm 20 but the body is going hang on a bit….😏

Up to 107 out of 120 total walking and running deliberate goal.
Ran 7 miles for the first time in a while today and really just was wearing my @AlphaHowls hat. Yesterday I dropped my laptop on my foot (yes the same FOOT) in the morning as I was leaving for work. It stung for a moment but I did not even think about it the rest of the day. In the evening I went for a walk and all of a sudden the top of the inside of my foot to my ankle started twinging? 😵 Anyway, I finally remembered the laptop incident but I could see no swelling or anything else. The rest of the evening and night it HURT to walk and I was totally depressed about yet another stupid injury and HOW long would it take to recovery this time just when I was getting back on track… 😟 So this morning I decided I would try running - I mean the weather was a 10/10 this morning with a light north breeze and upper 50's with lower humidity. The first 50 feet I thought oh crap this is going to hurt too much but then out of nowhere the pain just stopped and I thought OK I can do a mile but the pain never came back and I decided as a thank you I should take advantage and get some favorite mileage in. 😀 I guess it just goes to show that sometimes you have to power thru (my alphahowls hat) the first bit to get to the good stuff?
Keeping up with everyone's updates….. and enjoying the tales…. :)
We also FINALLY got our cold front yesterday and some really crazy looking end of world clouds in the morning…😳
8 -
Nice runs @Teresa502, @tarun_yadavA, @WarmJellyfish, & @SummerSkier!
Note to self: Drop my laptop on both my feet but first ask @SummerSkier if I should drop it flat, edge or corner?

Today's run was actually 2 ~5K segments of the Sydney Marathon, running along with one of the trainers on my treadmill. As I run at a faster pace than the trainer, I ended up with a bit more distance.
I was only planning a 5K but happily (& truly unexpectedly) I felt really good after the 1st run, so thought I'd go for another 2km or so & loaded up the next 5K segment.
After about 2km, I paused the treadmill as the motor was starting to overheat (oops!) & walked around the condo a bit & then decided to do another km. Hopped back on & ran until the motor was overheating again. Walked around a little more & decided to get back on the treadmill & just finish the full segment. Didn't include the off treadmill walking segments in my distance.
Thinking I really need to get my treadmill serviced/cleaned!!Garmin has been spanking me lately @WarmJellyfish, giving me an 'Unproductive' & decreasing my VO2 Max (a.k.a. - I'm not doing enough) but alternatively it's telling me my training Readiness is '9 out of 100' (a.k.a. - I'm doing too much).
Pretty sure if I do sprints while in bed while sleeping it might be happy🤷♂️ but I'm not willing to try to find out.5 -

I'm posting two runs again. Tuesday was a much better run than Monday. I ran 6.25 miles. It was nice at 59°F and not as windy. I wore a t-shirt instead of a tank top. Today I ran 6.25 mikes again and it was cold. (At least to me). It was 48°F. I wore shorts and a t-shirt again but added my fingerless gloves. I was kind of wishing I had worn my sleeves, but I probably would have had to take them off half way through if I had. Luckily it wasn't windy so it was a pretty nice run.

My "workout" today was re-doing my cold tub with a tarp liner because it has a (slow but steady) leak, AND building the indoor guinea pig play pen imporium in my husband's office. I've been feeling stuck in fight-or-flight mode all week (nervous system dysregulation is frustrating), so I also sat in the cold tub for a bit. It wasn't really cold enough, but maybe helped a little.

Great running @chris_in_cal , @username301 , @Teresa502 , @nossmf .
Thanks @kgirlhart and great running. @Teresa502 and I have talked about planning on doing the College Station race next year, so I can be much better prepared. Would you, or anyone else (@Scott6255 ) want to make that a date?
Love the pictures @tarun_yadavA . That sandwich does look delicious! Great running while on vacation too.
Thanks @polskagirl01 !
@yirara Knowing what doesn't work is almost as good as knowing what does work. Hang in there. You are doing great.
Sounds like a great trip @John772016 . I'm glad you are feeling a lot better. Great running and, yes, it sounds like you need to get your treadmill worked on.
Thanks @TheMrWobbly .
@Teresa502 That sounds like a great birthday celebration. Happy Birthday to your friend. Enjoy your vacation!
Sounds like you are doing great to me @WarmJellyfish .
@SummerSkier I'm glad you didn't hurt your foot worse than you did. You are doing great with your running and walking. That cloud is pretty amazing!
Sorry I've been pretty absent this week. It's just been super busy and I decided sleep was more important than social media….even though I really did miss seeing what you guys were up to.

Ok, I might know why I've not been able to run well lately. A doctor offered me HRT that's supposed to work the same as the contraceptive, but acts on a different receptor, which, instead of increasing heart action widens blood vessels. Maybe. I stopped it now will go back to the pill. Lets see if things improve again. But for now I'm without any hormonal support, and as usual my muscle function completely dropped. So.. this was hopefully the worst run in a looong time.8 -
Ok, I'll try to stay healthy and save the date for next year 😁
3 -
@yirara I hope changing up the meds will be the key to better runs.

Posting 3 days of exercise again.
Tues I slept a bit later than intended, but did a one mile treadmill walk before heading to work. I had intended to do another mile after work and before heading back to town for a meeting, but I wound up working 30 min longer than expected, so that didn't happen.
Yesterday, I did get up a little earlier and managed to get in a 2.5 mile wun before heading into down for shopping, Bible Study, work for 2 hours (while mom read in the breakroom), and another Bible study that night.
Today, I again slept a bit late and got in a mile walk before heading to work. I was home about 2 hours before mom and I went to a fundraiser gospel singing at a church she attends on Sunday nights and when I can't go for some reason. I enjoyed the singing.
I have kept the streak going, but not much else this week. I'm still proud of myself for at least getting a mile in, even on the busiest of days.
BTW, I am in awe of all of you who work full time and still mange to put in the miles! I don't know how you do it. You are all amazing.

Crazy Texas weather. I'm going to skip my run tomorrow. I hate to do it, but I am having fasting blood work done.

I didn't have to be at work until 11:30 this morning, so got up early enough for a little bit longer treadmill run. (I did have some things I had to get done before leaving.) The running portion was 5.0-5.5/4.0/4.5-4.9/4.0 mph for 1/1/2/1 min and ended at 4.5 mph. (That was 5.0 for one min, 4.0 for one min, 4.5 for two minutes, 4.0 for one min, and then progressed up in pace.) Avg pace was 13:15 min/mile. Avg HR was 116 with a max of 138 bpm.
It wasn't too bad. My legs were still a bit stiff to begin with. I think tennis over the weekend used different muscles that aren't happy yet.
