Hello Ladies,
Well, it’s a wet and gloomy day here…wet as in pretty thick fog, even after 9am. That’s very unusual for around here. I still can’t see our canyon.
Feet update: I’ve been battling plantar fasciitis for over a year. I tried all kinds of things…rollers, arch supports, gel cushions, etc. and nothing really worked. However, since the mister started working full time, I’ve been able to keep a regular workout schedule. I’ve been stretching the legs (from glutes all the way to the toes) a lot and I actually think it’s helping. The right foot is barely noticeable now and this morning, I stepped on the floor after sleeping and noticed a considerable improvement on the left. Hopefully, it’ll stay that way. Now, to get my back fixed.
Tracey-You’re doing a lot. Take care of yourself during this time. We’re all there with you.
Melanie-I loved the bee pic.
Mo-You do so much good for those kids. Very admirable.
Debbie-Your posts sound more positive now. It seems a lot of the stress of the past several years has lifted a bit. Hopefully you and your husband can be happier with less stress.
Heather-Thank you for sharing your trip. Lovely photos. The concert in the cave looked like it would have been a wonderful experience!
I’m back to planning our month long trip to Indonesia and Singapore. I’ll be purchasing trip insurance this time. Do any of you have any recommendations on companies for that? I know their job is to keep from paying it, but if you have experience with any that were not quite as painful to deal with, I’d love to know about it. Also any “never use this company” recommendations. The one I’m currently considering is Generali.
Have a great day!

- always good to see you and your DH out riding. Glad you two are able to enjoy doing that together.
Lanette — unfortunately my husband hasn't cycled outside in months. His last ride outside was about this time of the month in April - 6 months ago.
We might cycle together a little bit this weekend … we'll see.

Machka, I goofed, sorry. I saw a guy riding behind you in the photo and assumed it was him. Hopefully with spring arriving at your place, he can get out and go with you.

The person behind me is a lady. It was kind of nice cycling with another woman. 😊
She's a bit younger than me and a bit stronger than me, but we stuck together partly because I was giving it almost all I had and she was slowing down a little bit.

Hugs to Carol. We are all here for you. Several regular posters have recently gone through the same loss.
Hugs also to Lisa, Rita, and others who are hurting for adult children. I’m hugging myself here, too.
More hugs to Ally, Mo, and others who are dealing with health issues.
So that my post won’t be a total downer, congrats to Pip on her run, Machka on her ride, Michele and others who are doing the exercise thing. I’m pretty proud of myself here, too. I’ve done my 9:00 am strength training video every weekday for the past three weeks, and 3 days the week before that. I have been relatively consistent with this workout since February.

Husband had a dermatology appointment, and on the was home he stopped at our local bakery. He bought a chocolate cake donut for himself and an apple fritter for me! It was hard to work half of that beautiful thing into my food diary today, but I did it! It had a lot of carbs! It was sweet of him to treat me, as he knows I don't partake of anything sweet for the most part.
I got 80+ liquids in today.
Today was a lazy day for me! It was raining, I slept in, I wrote a couple letters to new pen pals. I am up to 15 pen pals now! One is a lady from Sri Lanka. So internationally I have pen pals in Canada, Ireland, Australia, and Sri Lanka.

we are supposed to get some rain this weekend- just hoping not on Sunday when we are loading and unloading for the show. Thankfully, this show is just 15 min. away, not the 2 +hrs away.
I text the guy that lives on mom's property (he and his wife live in the motor home)- asked him to make sure the popcorn was picked and put in the green house to dry before the rain starts. He said they (not sure who) already picked it today. Glad to hear- wouldn't want all the work of planting and growing it to go to waste if it got moldy.Debbie

It was foggy and cold here most of the day here too. It did clear up when I was out walking. Weather was perfect with just enough breeze.
Yes, there is less stress here which is great. Not walking on eggshells all the time was exhausting. Still not great in other areas but yes, the stress is so much better.

Saturday:
First a bicycle ride with my husband this time! Slow ride, but that's OK.
And then a walk/jog on my own. I jogged about half the distance. We also organised a 160 km bicycle ride today and it went well. So far, the weather this weekend has been incredibly good.
After so many weeks of bad weather, we can hardly believe the good weather!

Good Saturday!
I have been reading books and walking (in house, cats are learning to stay out of path). Working, walking, and reading. Oh, I also finished my Orchid Lego.
Haven't gotten on scale but that is okay.
Heather- Thank you for sharing! You look great! Love the photos of cars!
Machka- They are costly which is why my grandkids have a gift budget. One year youngest granddaughter wanted a castle. It was more than her budget. I told her if she got it, it would also be her Birthday gift. She really was okay with that. On her birthday, her card included a picture of her with her castle. I have a bonsai tree left to do of mine. After that it is cars for DH. My puzzle board should be here any day. I hope it works with furbabies.
Carol- continued prayers and hugs!
Migraine yesterday sucked! Struggled to get in walk but managed last night. After effects today but better. Have a wedding to attend this afternoon.
Hugs! Loves! Congratulations!
Thankful for all of you and all your life experiences. You help me feel not alone.😘

Keeping watch on the deck. Scaring coyotes away. I am always fearful Stormi might get picked up by one but she refuses to stay in during the day. The heeler, Bug, is getting up in years and has a bum leg but still gives it her all
Going to help a friend out today. He is having issues with pneumonia in his calves. A cow recently broke a couple of his ribs so he's too sore to do much. We'll see what's going on there then decide who and how to treat. 200 head so it will be a long day. He also lives over an hour away so we have a bit of a drive. My husband, daughter, and I are going. They will take horses to get the cattle in. I don't ride after my knee replacement. Painful for that knee and, as with any horse, the potential for them spooking or bucking is always there and I don't want to take that chance. I will be riding in the side by side.
Tina- glad to hear your plantar fasciitis is coming around. It is such a tough thing to heal. Hopefully it'll be gone by the time you leave for your trip.
Take care of yourselves 💕

It's a sea day today. Hooray! We are on our way to Cadiz, in south-west Spain, the last stop. It's somewhere I have had on my bucket list for some time. I hope my walking is up to it. We are going on an orientation tour first thing, so we can get an overview of the place.
Sea pretty good. We went to painting this morning, where we experimented with merging wet colours in a skyline of Cadiz. Then it was line dancing and lunch. I've just washed my hair under the tap, and I am looking forward to choir with John later. Our fourth song to learn.
The ship's cast are performing tonight, which I always enjoy. We get to know them individually through the singing and the dancing, as they are teaching it. Six dancers, and four singers.
Love to all. My best wishes to those who have troubles and pain. 💓

Melanie - sounds like you have a big day ahead. Hope everything goes smoothly with that large herd. Stormi and Bug look ready to guard the fort. If you want, I can send you dozens of rabbits to feed the coyotes. For some reason I haven't heard any this year, pretty strange. Cougars perhaps, though I haven't heard of any cattle being harmed. First time ever tho I haven't heard them yowling at night. 🤔
Debbie - hope the show goes well on Sunday. Nice that it's close by.
Allie - SMiles is such a handsome kid with his nice haircut. Glad you are getting some energy back and also glad you are taking it slow. Does Doris have anyone to take her to appointments/lunch now that you've been unavailable for a bit due to health reasons? Hope she's doing OK. You've been such a good friend to her.
Kylia - well, I'm going to have to check out all these new Lego creations. I've been living under a rock and didn't realize a person could build more than forts with them, lol. Love the Orchids. Good job with the house walking.
It was breezy yesterday, lots more leaves on the ground but never lost power. It's supposed to be a bit breezier today and I'm ready. LOTS of books to read thanks to Kindle Unlimited. I'm finding a lot of detective/murder mysteries with Pacific Northwest settings. I should be all set for a while.
Make it a super weekend. 🤩

Lucy’s humans loved it too. It’s displayed on my “card clothes line” among my freshies and grandson’s picture.
and Lucy waving to Pip’s Lucy and everyone on this chat! A bit blurry because it is difficult luring her with a treat and snapping the wave at the same time!

Happy Saturday dear Friends. Our gorgeous fall weather continues with mild temperatures and light wind. My injured leg is slowing getting better and I think I'll test it with some easy rowing in the gym and of course, stretches.
Heather: Your trip sounds marvelous. Love the photos.
Lanette: Like you, I have bunnies to spare over hear. Haven't heard any coyotes or seen a fox in awhile. However, two days ago it was reported that a huge bobcat was across the street sleeping on someone's HVAC compressor. And so, Mars must stay on the leash when outside.
Melanie: Ditto what others said about writing your memoir. Even a collection of short stories that you remember. Biographies are my favorite genre.
Lisa: You are Corey are doing an amazing job on your property. Love how homey it is becoming.
The National Basketball Association has begun it's new season. I'm back at work tonight with my beloved "boys" the Nuggets. I am also back at work checking credentials in the press box for our Avalanche hockey team. We have all kinds of luminaries coming through my section, and slowing I am learning who they are. Two nights ago I was paid a lovely compliment by one of the senior gentlemen. I thought he was a visiting journalist. Turned out to be Michel Goulet.
Off to the gym! Stay well. We can do this!

Son is still in rehab looking for his next step to either a halfway house or sober house. Lucy is set to be spayed in November. DH’s legs are swelling really bad but he refuses to go to doctor. I’m afraid it’s his heart. Going for walks 3 times a day and training Lucy are my happy places. Everywhere else is a worry. I know I can’t do anything about the men, but still worried about them. They are really testing my loving detachment!

Hello, all,
Taking a break while a piece of my painting dries… Corey is in quiet mode today, though he's already decided on dinner (spaghetti and meat sauce, sounds good to me!). He's chilling on the couch reading, his very favorite rainy day occupation. He has a three-gallon jug of his own hard ginger/lemonade to get into bottles this weekend, most likely tomorrow. Most of the bought things are much too sweet, I guess, and his is nicely bitter. And no, I don't mean tart. I mean bitter. He loves a bitter IPA, too, for those who know beer. Bitter is not my jam… (irony).
With him quiet and happy, I can do a little more of what I choose to do, float between painting and crocheting while I watch another video, and then cleaning, then putting away laundry, then painting… and round and round. I've done two stints on the rower and one on the elliptical in the last three days… pleased with that, probably get on the elliptical again today before I shower.
My non-exciting life pleases me no end, but is probably terribly boring to read about, sorry…
Rori - Thanks for the compliment! I took a picture to send a friend yesterday, on a rainy day, of the remodeled bedroom. The light in this house is what attracted me to it in the first place, and as we get it where we want it, I'm even happier than I was. I'm slowly moving plants and other things in the room… if you and N (or just you!) happen to be wandering through Arkansas, the welcome mat is always out. I'd love to see you.
Rita - Worry does no good, but other than taking care of ourselves better, I haven't figured out a way to stop. Distractions are just that, the baseline of worry remains. My sympathies, dear heart. Thanks for the witch cartoon, slid that right on over to Corey. He never checks anything on the weekends, but he'll see it on Monday and it will give him a smile.
Kylia - Got the heat on here, too! This same system that's dripping on my roof is heading your way…
Lanette - You and Corey are birds of a feather - but he tends to read apocalyptic stuff, and fantasy/sci-fi.
Melanie - My knee replacement helped with the pain for a few years, but five years later, it's just as painful as the other. Orthotics in my shoes helped a bit for awhile, but the colder and wetter the weather, the worse they both feel. Had a heating pad over both knees just a few hours ago, propped up. And 200 calves is a few too many calves. Corey was a ranch infrastructure manager for three years in West Texas (everything but the animals), and there are no weekends for ranch people. You do what you must when you must. Sorry about your friend's ribs and the calf issues. Pneumonia's scary stuff.
Off to do whatever comes next, kids,
Good thoughts to everyone.Love,
Lisa in AR6 -
Dh says he has a lot more pain when it is damp and cold. He has had 4 total hip replacements. The first set were metal on metal so he really felt the cold in them. They fell apart(gave him cobalt/cromium poisoning and ate up part of the bone) so that is why he had a second set of replacements done.
He always tells me when it is going to rain, has to be sure and stay warm while he sleepsDebbie

Lanette. We have Kindle Unlimited and definitely get our money’s worth. There are several authors I enjoy. I looked up the book you recommended -Bones, something”. It said we had checked it out 3 years ago but it did not seem familiar to me and Dave swore he did not read it so I downloaded it again. I have definitely not read it, but I think I might have started it then got sidetracked by another series and let it go. It looks like it’s going to be good. Our problem is that if only lets you download ten at a time. Dave likes to download the entire series he is reading. I let him do that. Which means I sometimes have to pick and choose. It’s hard to share sometimes.

Lisa: We have our system on a couple hour in the morning now to make sure we have hot water for showers etc. We also put it on this week for a couple of evening hours as the weather took on a decided nip.
I also feel the pain in my knees when the weather turns cold.
Our clocks go back tonight.
