Heather – thanks for the photos. I so enjoy taking cruises with you and Johnny
Carol– I am so very very sorry for you and your family
pip– yea for refrigerator and carpet!!!
Mo– so glad for your husband. It’s really frustrating to work at a job you don’t care for.
Melanie– love your stories
Started putting the posts in for the “fence”. We’re thinking that we’ll probably finish tomorrow.
J&C have a concert to go to tomorrow.
Been taking Ganon for a walk almost every day.
Lisa– I’d take care of the cat. Cory can take care of himself...lol
You know, I thought for sure when J&C came here that my weight would go up some. Surprisingly, it really hasn’t. I’m thinking that taking Ganon for walks may have something to do with it. Usually I can average about 10,000 steps/day
Speaking of easy recipes: I take a box of angel food cake mix, add a 20oz can of crushed pineapple (undrained) and bake.
Deb– sure hope you find a cruise.
My neighbor has really recently gotten into Lego’s. She has all sorts of drawers for them
Lisa– my issue is boredom. I tend to eat to break it, which isn’t good. Love your exercise room
Did incline intervals at the gym yesterday (Thurs).
Pip– ANOTHER 10 mile run!!! You go girl
Justf ound out that Fri. we’re supposed to wear costumes to the soup kitchen having to do with food. I’m thinking that we have an M&M costume in the garage. Will dig it out to see if I can use that. Someone suggested that I go as a whopper….lol Update: I think the costumes disintegrated so I have a shirt from BK I might wear that along with a BK crown
Got our flu shots the other day. No reaction. The only time I had a reaction was when I got it the first time
Still working on the deck. He thinks he’ll be done next week, I don’t think so. Still needs to finish the porch, do the stairs, the wall between the deck and the porch, put up the railing.
I really don’t get excited at all over Halloween. Now christmas...that’s another story
Allie– yea for smaller jeans
katie – you go girl with your exercise!
On my walk with Ganon today, I heard the song “Halloween Town” and thought of katla
Got a fair amount of the Halloween decorations out. J&C are at a concert which is outdoors. Bet they are COLD
Still working on the deck/porch. It is frustrating, but I am glad that he’s being careful. Got some of the steps in today. Tomorrow he’s going to work on the wall between the porch and the deck. He thinks he’ll get it done, I’m skeptical.
Took Ganon out earlier this evening and he didn’t pee or want to eat. Think I’ll go again and see if he wants to. I’ll be able to exercise tomorrow in just my underwear. I don’t like to do that with J&C here, but they’re spending the night in Raleigh.

Kay - Yes, I'm reading D.D. Black's series that started with "The Bones". I'm addicted, nearly done with book #3. I think you'll like it, the characters are well developed and get better with each book, lol.
We did lose power for an hour this afternoon - I kind of thought this might happen, the way the wind and rain picked up.

that is one of my most favorite cakes EVER- just wish the angel food cake mixes weren't so expensive now. At over $5, so much more than regular cake mixes. And most stores only carry one brand, no choices/sales.

Cycled with my husband again today! We've been out for two 15 km rides this weekend … good for him!! Recovery rides for me.

Morning, my chicks!
The cold rain was supposed to stay with us all day today, but the li'l weather wienies got that part wrong, this system has apparently moved on to my east, stretching all the way from Mo in Mississippi up to the edges of Kylia and Ginny in Ohio. Ginny - are you still in Ohio? Kind of a weird weather report, but better than some… 😂👀😍 Supposedly more rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we'll enjoy today.
No real plans - I want to get the next bit of paint on the refrigerator - it has to completely dry in between, or the next pieces will smear or blend into the first ones, so it's an iterative thing. Corey plans to shorten the legs on the gas fireplace so it can fit into the actual fireplace instead of sitting on the hearth. It's noisy hard work grinding bits of metal, so I'd be procrastinating on it, too! He wants more plastic on his veggie garden, so there's that, as well.
Hope Cadiz is lovely, Heather, and I hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.

😃A lot of wind made the yard messy but did no damage. Power popped off for a moment but came right back. Annie brought in a small branch to chew on so now the carpet has branch debris along with pieces of dog toys and the dryer ball. It's good exercise for me to pick up all this stuff.
😃 I'm finding new and useful things about the new computer and Windows 11.
❤️ Carol, I am thinking about you and wishing I were closer to hold your hand and help you through this tough time.

Cadiz was as good as I'd hoped. The morning tour was interesting and afterwards I walked MILES. Very pleased with myself. It was a Sunday, so we got to see the citizens in their Sunday best, and gate crashed a christening. People very smart for church, and some women wearing very high heels! It's also the day for sons to take their mums out in their wheelchairs.
I managed to find the restaurant I had bookmarked a couple of years ago. Had delicious lunch with the prawn fritters I wanted. Also local sherry. At the mini tapas place it was super crowded and no room at all, but we got into the sister restaurant across the street. Everything is sooooo cheap here. Coffees, beers etc. The substantial three part meal with two sherries, beer, sparkling water, came to around 27 dollars. Wow!
Now back in the ship and ready for a nap.
Photos following.

Calf treatments went well yesterday. It wasn't the wreck they had described. With calf prices so high I think people panic a little. It was nice seeing a bunch of others that came to help that we usually only see in the spring when we help with branding. Lots of laughs when we went in to eat.
I am excited for Halloween as my oldest grandson is 3 and starting to get what it's about. A fun night driving to neighbors and collecting some candy. We are not in town so we drive to a few places. People are extremely generous as the kids only have a few stops. My grandson is Spider-Man crazy. Found this costume at Walmart for $20. It has a padded upper body 🤣 He wears it everyday! He's shooting his web in this picture. Adds psst psst for sound effects.
Windy, gray, cold… ugh. But rainy… Yay! We'll take any moisture we can get. Will go swimming then get my groceries for the next week.
Allie- Miles is my husband's name 🙂Spelt with an I as well. Everyone, including Siri wants to spell it with a Y. Cute boy!
Lanette- you are lucky if coyotes numbers are down. They must have all come north. I see them wandering near the yard daily.
Rori- good news that you are making it back to the gym. My favourite sports to watch are downhill ski racing and pro or collegiate women's volleyball. We don't follow hockey in our house- very un-Canadian of us 🤷🏻♀️
Lisa- Ugh. I don't like the sound of your knee 😞 I was hoping to get a lot of years out of this one.
Michele- love the easy cake recipes. I can sometimes find angel food cake on sale for 99 cents. That is in Canadian money so it would be almost free for you guys!
Take care of yourselves 💕

Heather - again, love the photos and hearing about your adventures. Looks like you had good weather the whole time except for a little fog. I want to teleport to Cadiz and eat some of that yummy food.
Kay - I finally took at look at the Kindle Unlimited info. I read we get 20 downloads at once. Maybe they've increased it since you signed on? I only have 8 in the queue right now so haven't tested the 20 download max. AI could have grabbed incorrect info for me, it does that quite often. Trust but verify, lol.
Barbie - some day when they come out with Windows 12 I'll be saying how much I miss Windows 11. 😁
Melanie - your grandson has a very cute Halloween costume, I could see him throwing the net. 😁 When I was a kid, I recall my mom hauling us to some other farms to trick or treat. Grandma at the adjacent farm was always ready with LOTS of goodies, lol. One year I spent Halloween with a friend in town and I couldn't believe how easy it was to fill up my sack. I thought I had died and gone to candy heaven! Such a variety! Glad the calf treatments yesterday went well. Yes, I'm sure ranchers hate to lose even one. I'll be glad to send up a load of cottontails for your coyotes.😉
Technology - I spent a lot of Friday morning trying to figure out what the latest update did to my phone. Figured out what I could then gave up and called the cellphone provider. The guy was super patient and gave great instructions and I think the beast has been tamed for now, lol. I only said "I'm going to throw this thing out the window" once. Proud of myself, lol.
Then I dealt with a lot of mis-communication with my credit union regarding an upcoming appointment with the manager. Trying to navigate with some of their new employees made this an "experience" and reminded me of my days at work before I retired. I would often encounter this. When I finally reached the manager via email, I told her I'd be glad to help them rewrite their policies and procedures. 😉😁 Ya gotta keep the customers satisfied, right?
Reminder that tomorrow is Weekly Check In day for those participating.

One last photo of the cathedral, taken from the ship. We are docked right in town.

Melanie- I so remember the grandchildren at that age. One year we were in charge when we went out with them because the parents were doing something. Happy memories. In Brighton and Hove, people who are up for a visit put a lighted pumpkin outside. If you don't put one, they don't bother you.

Hi Ladies,
Rori – I had to look up Michel Goulet – he’s nice looking….
Heather and Allie – all great pictures!
Melanie – He is loving the spider man costume
I went out to work in the front yard a bit, and after just an hour it started to drizzle, damp and cold did not sound good so I am back indoors.
Carol – glad to see you pop in we are thinking of you, I hope your family is surrounding you with love.

Did Biggest Winner Shape Up Front DVD today and then Pilates for Beginners DVD, took Ganon for a walk, went to CVS to get passport photo taken (I need to renew), then to WalMart. Came home, made an apple pie, then helped Vince put out more Halloween decorations. We’re almost done.
You know, got a pocketbook at a thrift store for $3 and it’s working out really well for putting Ganon’s poop in so I don’t have to carry it around the block. There’s also room for an extra roll of poop bags. Thanks for the suggestion
deb – you’re right, angel food cake mix never goes on sale. I’ve seen it made by Duncan Hines and also Betty Crocker, and whenever they’re on sale, it’s always “selected brands” and that never includes the angel food cake mix. Angel Food cake can be “bland” but the pineapple gives it a sort-of zing. Also, it’s a weight watchers recipe
My kids ALWAYS loved going to Vince’s work. Every employee had a desk drawer full of candy, and they REALLY did it up for Halloween.
Got most of the decorations out. Still have to do the inflatables. We can probably get to that Tuesday or perhaps tomorrow night after bowling. They’re calling (yea, we know how accurate the weatherman is) for rain showers on and off, which will be good in a way since the ground will be softer making it easier to pound the stakes into the ground.
J “made” dinner tonight aka: bought meatloaf at the store. It was SOOO salty, I couldn’t eat more than one piece. Sad to say, fortunately, I made an apple pie earlier so at least I could have that. She just warmed up some corn and carrots that I had frozen and gave us that. She and C had these shrimp or pork (she made two kinds) potstickers because she said they had a late lunch. Personally, I would have preferred the potstickers and Vince could have had the leftover ribs. Well, I might very well wind up giving Ganon the meatloaf because there is no way I can eat it. Guess I’m just getting sensitive to salt since I really don’t cook with it. She’s also getting (maybe it was just today) where she washes her pots but leaves the dishes for me. Yes, it’s just putting them in the dishwasher. But like I said, it may be just today.
Think I’ll make the bed and take a shower.

don’t have much to clean, the upstairs is all torn apart with the carpet coming on Wednesday. The 28th will be the gotcha bday that we got chispa and Lucy. Got the on 10/28/22. Chispa was 12 and Lucy was 9. I think I will do my last 10 mile run on Tuesday before the big day.14461446

the show today was so much better all the way around compared to last weekend. 20 min. from home instead of over 2 hrs. Just over 4 hrs(supposed to be 5 but everyone started packing up a little after 3 instead of 4), instead of 7 and made more money at this one. Set up was tight as we only had a six foot table space but we doubled the width of the table plus put a card table at one corner- we made it work. Had a few friends come by which was nice. It was a very small venue so very crowded.
Having some Sweet and Spicy tea and going to watch some tv before heading to bed early. I am tired of doing nothing :)Debbie

This past weekend was a long-long weekend. Thursday was a public holiday here. Friday was my usual day off. And it's the weekend we run one of our cycling events: a 3-day event.
I was concerned going into the weekend that the weather would be as horrible as it has been over the past several weeks lately but instead we got a perfect weekend of sunshine, warmth and no wind!! 3 whole days of absolutely gorgeous weather.
The 3 events went very well, including the one I rode, and I was also able to get in quite a bit of additional exercise.

Sea day today. Not delighted by my painting, but you always learn something. I've learnt a lot about mixing colours. The classes are very jolly. I rushed to finish, but still missed a lecture I was looking forward to on the last of the Neanderthals, in Gibraltar. I can catch up on video later.
I was a bit sore in line dancing, after yesterday's marathon walk in Cadiz. But I managed. I wore my knee brace and shuffled about.
Had a light lunch and will nap. Singing at 4.30. Saturday's session was terrible, with an impossible song, so I'm hoping they've abandoned that.
This morning John missed his gymming because our mobiles switched to Portuguese time, so his alarm was an hour late. My analogue watch was OK, of course! We are off the coast of Portugal. It's an hour behind continental time. He's done 3 miles around the deck.
Love to all, hugs for Carol.

They will both be Pikachu's💖🎃👍🏼
Here is Eli on safari in the plant section of Lowes!😁
I was able to video chat with grandkids, middle son (for a nice long conversation
on Saturday as Mom and Athena had gone to get pedicures). Then after a bit youngest son joined in.💖 At one point youngest went to get something to show me (a large liter container of his favorite Japanese milk tea🙃), and middle son had moved out of frame too so Eli was peeking in..."hello ooo where is everyone"!! It was hysterical.😂🙃😁
