Convert/default to metric
Many of mfp users aren't Americans. We do not have a cup of tomatoes, we have a tomato or 100g of tomato.
So please when offering suggestions to non US users, do convert to measured something that non Americans use daily or default to the non imperial choice when available (it often is). Even in the UK, food is measured either in units (apples, tomatoes, etc...) or kg.

I agree. Im in the UK. I wouldn't even know what a "cup" of something was.

As the entries are user inputted, it likely won’t default. What I do, when searching, is put “Apple 100g” then it pulls up the entries which have been inputted by gram not by volume. That has the added benefit of often producing UK entries for products which are likely to be more accurate for me than US entries.
