How do you manage food cravings?

Hi everyone! I'm 24 years old, 5'5 and 145 lbs, and I just joined My Fitness Pal to help me lose some weight after dealing with what I believe to be a food addiction. Food consumes my thoughts almost all the time and it's very hard for me to control my food cravings. I love to eat and I think it's important to enjoy eating, but I do want to develop healthy eating habits. Any tips on managing food cravings?

    Stand back from the sweets - keep practicing to choose nourishing foods

    Figure out how many calories to maintain your weight - divide into regular times for meals and snacks including the times you struggle with extra eating. If you are wanting to eat then, eat your pre-scheduled meal or snack.

    Keep practicing that - remind yourself you always get more at the next meal or snack.

    It can take days or weeks for appetite to settle down, so just keep practicing. Don't beat yourself up, don't quit, and just get right back at it at the very next snack/meal.
