Should I log this?

Out of curiousity I wore my HRM while I did some cleaning. I cleaned for 68 minutes and burned 360 cals apparently. Now I'm wondering if I should log it since my activity level is set to lightly active, so I should have been on my feet most of the day anyway!! I don't usually log cleaning, but then I don't usually do an hour at a time or put as much effort in as I did then.

Eek! It's bothering me, because I do eat back my exercise calories so I don't want to eat back calories I haven't rightfully earned lol!

Yep. If it's not set in your activity level you should log.

If you've burnt it, you've earnt it!
  • If it is something you don't normally do on a daily basis, I would say YES do log it. Cleaning is exercise...just we don't normally think of it as exercise. Hope this helps! Way to go!!

I personally would not log it. But to each their own.

If it's not something you do everyday then add it.

If it's above and beyond your normal cleaning, I'd log half of it.

Ultimately, it's up to you. I do not normally log things like that unless it's done as an exercise. Just how I do it, it's your choice.

I would log it if you have light for an activity level.

I wouldn't log it. Its just part of living life. If we all underestimated our daily activity and overestimated our daily intake, we'd be better off 8)

How I choose it is - was it normal cleaning? Stuff I do every week? Then I don't log it. Even if I do it all at one time. If I am moving furniture and hands and knees scrubbing the floor, steam cleaning the carpets - I log it.
Yard work - mowing, gardening, don't log it. It is normal yard work. Raking, pulling up the garden for the fall, heavy work - I'll log it.

Wow, I love it that everyone replies so quick on here, thanks everyone!!

OK I like the idea of logging half, I don't normally do the hoovering (not that I'm lazy it's just not my normal job, I was just being helpful!) And thats probably where most of the calories were burnt.

    Brilliant. Thanks :flowerforyou:

It's up to you, but I wouldn't log it.
