🌲🌲Just give me one month / December🌲🌲
🌲🌲Happy December, friends.🌲🌲
Lots going on this month and it’s hard to stay on track with your goals. And for some of us it’s hard to get outdoors and be active. What do you need this month — a little more rest, movement, or balance in your days?
This thread is here for you all month long. Log your weight, share your weight release wins, or simply check in when you need a little encouragement.
Wherever you are on your journey, you’re not alone. Let’s take December one mindful step at a time.🌲

The holidays ARE part of the plan, because we are human and we want to remember good times with loved ones. (Not how scared we were about the dessert table)
PROGRESS>PERFECTION.1 or 2 days of healthy eating will not make you lean, just like 1 or 2 days of junk will not ruin your progress.

We are ready to take on all the challenges of December !
Lets support each other..
Big thanks to @MercyRoth for giving us a place to help support one another

thank you for this thread. 136.2. Goal is 133 for end of December. Which is a challenge. I don’t much care for Christmas. I like spending the time with family and friends but hate all the consumerism and over eating. I’m not doing that this year.

Hi everyone, 👋🏻I’ve been cheering you all on in the background and celebrating your successes and insights from afar. 💫Thank you for starting this new thread.
iit’s good to be back, after selling our property, moving house (inter-island), moving to a new city, buying a new house, moving in, starting a new job, etc., all within weeks. 😊I’m pleased though that my weight has been fairly consistent and that I didn’t panic too much during the weeks when my scale was in storage 🙂
My goal is still to get back to maintenance of below 56kg.Monday 01st December: 56.53 -
I've been maintaining this year which is what the doctors want, but I feel the need to actually log my food this month. I want to make sure I'm getting in enough protein, focusing less on carbs for now. Also putting daily movement (and meds) reminders on my phone. Just ordered a new Fitbit arriving Wed and realizing the hourly reminder to move on my old one stopped working long ago!

Nice to see everyone on here supporting one another. In November I managed to get down to 169 but then I started strength training which can put weight on so who knows what December will look like. I’m also focused on anti inflammatory diet, and using a vibration plate and rebounder to manage the fluid buildup that comes with lipedema.1 -
@MercyRoth I am sorry about this diagnosis you received. It sounds like you have a handle on how to manage it though.
@cupcakesandproteinshakes I agree on the consumerism with the holidays. I have decided , beyond my little tiny niece, I am not gifting anyone. Normally I have three nephews and 3 siblings and no one ever even gets together for the holidays anymore. With the nephews the gifting has always been one way and they are all grown adults now.. so I am cancelling my efforts on this. It is just added stress I don't need . It looks like my hubby and I probably have to buy a new Stove since ours has been on the fritz…so that will be our "gift" to each other.
@tishsmith101 - I will be tracking right along with you. I have been so stuck and today I am up on the scale a bit. (and I didn't think I did too bad on food yesterday so need to figure it out I guess)

Thanks @MercyRoth for keeping this thread going!
Hello to everyone!
My weight is creeping up and I don’t think the holidays coming up is going to help. I’ll eat some goodies but not go overboard. Going to get my Christmas tree tomorrow. I need to clear some space for it.2 -
Thank you @MercyRoth for stepping up to keep this thread going!
Good to see everyone checking in today.Well, I didn’t even weigh this am but on Saturday the scale registered 153.8 so I’ll start from this point.
I think the holidays bring up both angst and wonder for many people. This year, we hosted a large Thanksgiving gathering here with all the food, family, games and (exhaustion) that go into it - but knowing that we will be doing a tiny Christmas. That means no family staying here, and no gift exchanges except for money for 6 grandchildren and my elderly mom who lives alone. My DH and I will see some close friends this month and I will have some 1:1 time with girlfriends. Church on Christmas Eve and a casual lunch on Christmas Day at my daughters house.
I’m kicking off the month of December with a mindset that I will continue my health and wellness journey and keep my goals top of mind. And focus on lean protein and vegetables. Maybe get back to 152 if stay focused.3 -
This time of year feels stressful, however my plan is to participate in activities that I choose - not that I feel obligated to do ( easier said than done), and since I hosted Thanksgiving, I would like to be a guest this time around.
I have not weighed in since before Thanksgiving- worried it would depress me-so plan to do it this weekend.
Starting weight in October - 140-143
November average 137-135
Goal weight for December: 135-133
Goal: 133 or under
My favorite cookie is the “magic” bar cookie with graham crackers, chocolate, nuts, coconut. I’m debating allowing this treat in this year. My issue is the “off” button, though I would like to allow myself to enjoy it this year.
How do you all indulge without it causing it to go overboard- like okay, now I’m going to go back to eating cookies every single night??? : )3 -

12/2- 146.8Good to see some new folks joining. Welcome. I have found this to be a great daily check in to help keep myself accountable and its been a LONG ROAD to get myself here.. with a ways to go yet.. then to maintain.
Rebalanced my macros as its been a while and going to track daily for a few weeks and see where I am messing up.

Tracked everything Monday, yesterday not so much. Will be better today. Check up tomorrow, no idea what to expect just going with feeling good for now. New Fitbit coming today, can't wait. Activity is better as well, doubled my steps yesterday compared to Sunday. Phone alarm reminder is helping.
I agree with everyone about cutting back on the holiday giving and associated stress. I used to buy gifts for all my great nieces and nephews, made the effort to visit them all and gave baked goods to all my extended family including shipping to out of staters. Within the last couple years I noticed only a couple have ever returned the kindness. I know, I did it more for me than them but realized some of them (the adults I mean) I never hear from at all. So this year I'm only gifting to and baking for my immediate fam and my small circle of friends. I already feel more peace from making this decision.

Dec
12/1- 147.2
12/2- 146.8
12/3- 145.8-I did good tracking yesterday. I was actually 46 calories over my total calorie MFP goal of 1750. I landed at 1796 total calories. Ooops.
The good news is that I got 153 grams of Protein.
Fat- way over (which has been a major issue for me the entire journey) by about 35 grams- 💩🙈
Fiber was short by 11 g on my fiber
Carbs- way under by 65 grams.
SO.. clearly I have some dialing in to do. This is a good example of thinking your eating the right amounts and being way off.
My macros are set to be Carb 40% (110G), Fat 25%(84 G) , Protein 35%(155)- I might adjust the protein down a bit more but that means my carbs or fats have to go up . General rule of thumb is 1 Gram of protein for every lb of weight.
All that aside, the scale was acting funny this morning . I got three different reading. The first was 144.6 and I knew that couldn't be right. I reweighed myself two more times and one of those I used my older withings scale..it was 145. 5 so I took the 2ND reweigh on my RENPHO scale which was the 145.8.

I have a terrible flu so not being very active which is disappointing since I just started a strength training program.
For @HappyDonkey75 I admire the amount of protein you’re eating but for me, that rule of thumb (one gram per pound of body weight) is way too much because it doesn’t take into account my calorie limit. My approach is to use percentages instead: figure out how many calories I should be eating in order to fuel exercise but also lose weight, and eat about 35 - 40% of that in protein.1 -

Dec 3: 168.4I’ve been going over in calories by a few hundred lately. I just feel hungry later in the day and I snack.
My Christmas tree is up! I need 2 more strings of lights though so I’m off to Canadian Tire today. I also have to buy new exercise bands as I’ve broken all of mine!2 -

yesterday I ate over my allowed calories by 165, but seems today I am less hungry so hopefully will even out.

12/4- 146only got in my 10K steps yesterday and some treadmill time, no leg workout as I had planned.
Yesterday overall on the food was kind of a fail. Over on calories, fat, and under on protein and carbs. Totally blew it when I caved on stress or something and ate 6 of the Lindor peppermint cookie truffles . I have no control on those .
Planning to be better today.. need to stay focused on long term goals when the stress hits.. and then drink green tea to keep me occupied.

Sending lots of courage and hugs to you!

Dr appt went very well yesterday, immunotherapy Rx are keeping me stable. Now I can relax through the holidays and not think about next steps until January. That also gave me the opportunity to take some time off and use (not lose) some vacation time. On the food tracking side, I'm getting breakfast and some lunch done this week but failing at logging dinner. My new Fitbit arrived, I just have to set it up. Work was quite busy yesterday so no hourly activity. Today should be better.
Have a great weekend everyone!

So sorry you are sick @MercyRoth! Hard to be sick this month and sending you healing wishes.
I love your reflection @tishsmith101 on choosing how you will spend your time and energy for your holiday gift giving. I’m doing the same. That should give you even more peace of mind and continue a more relaxed month - have fun setting up your Fitbit!
So far this week, I went to the gym and did a weight training and treadmill workout, one yoga stretch by YWA at home and two walks outdoors. I have dinners out tonight and tomorrow— so rare! But one is with my adult son and the other to celebrate by anniversary with DH. Both special. But I’m going to try and make the best choices possible and skip the wine and dessert.1 -
