I went in today as we were traveling from Albany to new haven.... I wanted to really have a good weekend -- i had the GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD -- didnt eat the wedge of cheese and got the apple cider vinegar / olive oil dress on side.... i DID NOT expect tht count to be 640 calories!!!!!!!!! i even pulled out the yolks. I may have made it a little less by pulling off the obvious evils... but i am so mad! Do they do something funky to the minisule amount of grilled chicken on that salad?????

LOOK AT WHAT IS OFFERED AS HEALTHY ALTERNATIVES!!!!!! WTF.

although the salad is listed on the site with 1 ounce of ranch dressing... so that may have made a difference as well... i could have had dumplings????????

Tip: Try one of these other items from Cracker Barrel instead of the Grilled Chicken Salad to consume fewer calories.

    Hamburger Steak
    (312 fewer calories)
    Chicken N Dumplings
    (230 fewer calories)
Chicken And Dumplings With Carrots And Green Beans
    (230 fewer calories)
    Grilled Chicken Tenderloin Dinner
    (220 fewer calories)

I know exactally what you mean I had a Grilled chicken burgur at white spot also under healthy requests well the burgur alone was 500 calories then the waitress says would you like the ceaser salad side that comes with that:grumble: Take out and healthy eating aren't an easy combo

i have found that some places salads are 2 serverings. zaxbys is that way. i think perkins is too. that's what brings up the cals so high. isn't it something that we think is so healthy really isn't. i have a book i carry in the car so i can just look things up when we are in the parking lot. i have found some of the items are not longer avaiable and i make a choice i think is good, turns out high. i fugure i tried, that's all i can do.

did you have a nice trip?

Hey, Guess What? Cracker Barrel is for, "home style Cooking", not the dieter in mind!!!

I learned a long time ago that I cannot do it there.

Honestly, they probably marinate the chicken in something that contains sugar and oil, and then they probably oil the griddle before they throw it on there...adds up fast but those nice grill marks are likely caused by sugar carmelizing. Just a thought!
