Finding the positive in 2,500 calories of chocolate ...

So yesterday, in the short space of a few hours, I managed to scoff down a shed load of chocolate. And for most of this morning was pretty mad at myself, mostly for "undoing" all the good stuff I have been doing for the past week. But following the wise advice of a good friend of mine, I have been trying to find something positive out of this experience, and focus on that rather than beating myself up. So here goes ...
1. I logged it ... all of it. Never really done that before, I usually adopt the 'ostrich approach'.
2. Actually, although it was a lot, it wasn't nearly as much as I have scoffed in a whole day before.
3. I stopped. Today, I got up and got back on track. In the past, a little "blip" like that could have lasted for quite a few days.
4. It spurred me on to run 4 miles in the driving rain, howling wind and dark after work this evening. Which I actually really enjoyed.
So there we go. I managed to find 4 positive things in what was otherwise a fairly low point in my week. My friend would be proud, and actually, so am I.

I take my hat off to you. I am all to familiar with the ostrich malarkey. But 4 miles of running in the rain ? Wow, that will have boosted your mood, and undone a lot of the chocolate. Good for you. Could I be so inquisitive as to ask what make of chocolate it was?0

Great attitude! It's really nice when you can turn a negative into a positive.... and you also experienced a whole new mindset. Kudos to you! Thanks for sharing!0

 I fell in the ice last November and lost my sense of taste and smell - couldn't even smell Marmite. Slowly but surely I have regained the savoury tastes, but Cadbury's just tastes wrong    . I have always been a Cadbury's girl, and now Galaxy tastes better to me - it is shocking (but it is helping me lose weight) I was given 20 wispas in the first week of July - I still have 14 left!! Sacrilege .I hope you relished every last morsel!0

Wow that's pretty awful ..... I would miss my Cadbury's. Not what you expect from a fall on the ice either. Good luck with the Galaxy and maybe keep persisting with those Wispas :happy:0

Good stuff...now jump back on the bandwagon and next time you're out shopping hovering around the chocolate aisle... ask yourself if you want to hit that low again? If you still can't resist...just go for the smaller bar! Then feel proud you did that!0

+1 way to keep it real0 -
Mmmmm Cadbury.... oh sorry, distracted there. Especially by the mini chocolate bar in my drawer that I am resolutely ignoring because I have resolved to cut out added/processed sugar for the week (I had to do something after last week which included a fine variety of processed sugars in candy form!)
Well done for deciding not to use a pigout as an excuse to give up and walk away.
It's not a good choice to eat that choccy in the first place, but you know that and you're being posisitve, not giving up and moving forward.
Definitely a win!0 -
Great work!!0
