Hello everyone, I just got the 30 day shred dvd and well I used to go to the gym every other day, but I recently got a new job with a different shift that I'm not used to working and for the past two months I haven't been able to do anything and have gained so much weight. Thats why I joined this site and saw people talking about the 30 day shred dvd

I've read really good things about it, but I tried it this morning and I coudln't even do 10 minutes of level 1 my arms and legs felt like jello..

How depressing.

Also how long do you guys do level one for usally and then move to level two and then three?

Thanks for all your replys :)

I am on Day 9 of Level 2 and I was 198 when I started and I am only done 2 pounds now. Level 1 kicked my *kitten* and was sooo hard the first 2 days but so quickly like within the next 2 days it was amazing at how my endurance and stamina picked up! You will see such a difference in such a short time. It does get easier as you go one. I did and plan on doing 10 days on each level and I take either Saturday or Sunday off as they say you should have at least 1 rest day a week. Good luck you can do it and it will get easier :))

The 30 day shred is very hard at first. I took lots of breaks. I haven't been able to complete a full 30 days without stopping. Haven't been past the first level. I want to start it up again but can't seem to fit it in. Just do as much as you can and take breaks, it's allowed. Be prepared for some muscle pain tomorrow. My legs get so sore. Jillian's a worker!
You've inspired me to try it again!
    Good Luck!

I havent tried this workout, but I just wanted to say, dont get "depressed" about what you cant do. Instead rejoice in what you can do. P90X has a saying "do your best and forget the rest". Possitive mental attitude will get you through it, just keep pushing and best of luck on your journey to your goal.

Keep at it! Do as much as you can! When those jumping jacks are just about to kill you, keep moving. If you can't keep up, at least keep your body in motion. I am on Level 2 Day 5... and my first day I nearly died. But when I was done, I just felt so.... good!

It's going to hurt. Jillian isn't a pantywaist... she will push and push and push. As long as you keep moving, even if you're not doing her exact moves, you are still being active and burning calories. But don't expect it to be a party! Using this video is the first time IN MY LIFE that I ever had sweat run down my forehead and into my eyes/down my face. Seriously. It hurts, but it's so good for you!

I know it seems impossible to believe, but you WILL get better endurance to continue on as the days go by. Trust me, I'm still weighing in the 240s and hadn't exercised in 20 years. THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION! :) But I can nearly keep up with Level 2 now, and I love it! (Not nearly so many dumb jumping jacks!)

As to the changing of levels, you can do as you please, but the most common school of thought is to do ten days on each level.

Also: There is no shame in following Anita for your first round of 30 days!!!! Good luck!!

ETA: There also seems to be a common problem of putting on a pound or two the first week... it's water retention by your sore sad muscles. Keep going, it will disappear! :)
