When I started my life change in January I had no idea I would be successful. I just knew I was going to mess it up just like I had every other time so I set my original goal high. Within three months my goal was in my sights so I lowered it 10 more pounds. Two months later I was there so I thought OK...lets go for another 20. Now, 5 months later I am still 12 pounds from that "ultimate" goal. A month ago I was only 10 pounds away, but I went on vacation and got lazy and the rest is history. Now, I can NOT motivate myself to get my butt back in the gym! I was actually there today to do some volunteer work, I had my work out clothes with me, but when I was done with my work I justified leaving by telling myself "you have already gone for a 2 mile walk today and you are going to wash the car this afternoon so you can pass on the work out today". Now I feel HORRIBLE!

Any suggestions for getting motivated again? At this point I could really care less about that final 10 pounds and I just don't have the same determination I did 10 months ago.

I feel the same way right now! But, I still have more than 10 pounds to lose. I am about halfway to my goal and haven't lost anything in a couple months. I just lost my motivation. Summer made it too hot to workout and trying to change my eating habits to more natural and less artificial totally messed with my calorie counts because I had to leave my faithful "diet" foods. Now I just cant seem to get back on track. I think you just have to take it one day at a time. Establishing healthy habits will either make you lose weight or stay the same. Maybe you're actually done losing weight! Maybe this is the weight you're supposed to be at. No matter what you have done a great job, now you just have to keep it off!

I have the same issue. I have lost 70 lbs since January, and like you I thought nah, not going to happen. I now have no motivation to exercise, but I am still watching what i eat (most of the time). The watching what i eat and limiting the calorie intake has kept me from gaining weight - thankfully. Now i am looking for my motivation... I hope you find yours soon! :)

That's really tough. I am about 20 pounds from my goal and I still feel like I have a lot of work to do. I haven't lost my motivation, but I am really time crunched and just haven't been able to work out as much as I was this summer. I guess it's time to change things up and figure out how to fit in maybe two small workouts a few days a week instead of trying for one longer workout. That said, your body might be comfortable where it is!

I say. Get back there and stop with the excuses!
You have an awesome job so far. Whats the problem?
You need to form that habit again. I know how easy it is to get out of sync. The trouble is you then have to start over with the habit.
Re-form that habit and remember how good it felt. That is really what you need to do....and you know it.

You have to find something that you love, or at least like, or you won't do it.

Some suggestions from a decades-long gym rat:
    - Take a group fitness class you've NEVER taken before - Zumba, TRX, spinning - something you've never even tried once. You may love it, or you may hate it, but it will get you back
    - Call your gym and book a session or two with a personal trainer. You'll be obligated to go, because you're paying for their time, and you will get some great tips and motivation.
    - Workout with a friend so you both will be accountable. Take a walk together, go for a run, or a bike ride, or whatever.
    - Sign up for a race in 3-6 months. Having a goal to train for will give your workouts purpose. Race can mean a walk, run, bike ride, triathlon, etc.
    - Tell EVERYONE WHO WILL LISTEN about your goals and what you're going to do to get there. You'll be less apt to skip the gym if you've already told your mom, dad, boyfriend, kids, coworkers, etc. that you're going.

    Good luck!

First we take one step, then we take a second step and soon we are doing it without thinking about it, and then we realise we are enjoying it - exercise, working out, whatever you want to call it.

Just take your first step and the rest will follow.

    Go for it!

yup! what daves160 said! You gotta get back at it! I am a workout junkie! I HAVE to get my 2 workouts a day in or I get really moody! I love the way I feel after a good hard cardio session. I feel like I can take on anything. You can do it, the first week SUCKS but after that it slowly gets easier and before you know it you are hooked again!!!
    Good Luck!
