Hey all,
I had the flu - am pre much better now except for a massive headache, a sore throat and fatigue (feeling really dizzy and faint).

Am I well enough to do my workout or not ...?

    No :)

You'll probably lose your appetite and end up losing weight too during this time.

Better to take it easy and give youyr body the rest it needs.

    Get well soon! :flowerforyou:

Take it easy - I'm in the same state. I feel like I've been living in a world of snot and coughing for the last week. Sore throat, annoying cough, living on decongestants and paracetamol. I'm so restless for a run, but I'm pretty sure it's not the best idea just yet.

As soon as I can do as much as sit for 3 mins without having to clear my throat, I'll be out the door - except I'm going to be really busy with work for the next week. And knowing that makes me even more restless!

I have a hard time thinking this is a lagit question. You are better except for a "massive headache" and feeling faint and dizzy? And you want to know if you should work out?

To answer your question no you are not better yet you are sick not lazy -. - Is that the answer you already knew but needed a forum to answer for you?
  • No, excercise will use energy that should be going back into building up your defences. You will just end up lowering your immunity and getting poorly again.

It can take a long time to fully recover from flu. You are best to stick with gentle activity to start with and gradually increase it as your body allows. Remember to drink plenty, eat healthy foods when you can and rest as much as possible too. If you want to do some light weights just do a few different sets BUT only if you feel up to it. Listen to your body. If you feel too sick to exercise then you are too sick to exercise.

I find walking is great when I am recovering from illness. Again, start off slow and gentle and don't go too far. You don't want to set yourself back. Your body will be working so much harder at the moment just to do everyday stuff so look after yourself. I hope you are feeling better soon :flowerforyou:
