Ummm... have you looked at the diet soda cake recipe on here? It's been making me hungry. I actually bought a cake mix (I usually make mine from scratch) and a diet 7-up today at the store... I'm over my calories by 100 already, so I'm not making it tonight. :sad:0

Tons of fruits, veggies, lean meants, oatmeal, peanut butter. That's usually my game plan when I go to the grocery store.0

I just tried for the first time today Laughing Cow Light swiss cheese. It's soooo good! I'ts only 35 cals for a wedge and it was just enough to eat with my special k crackers(90 cals per 17 crackers)My new favorite snack! I think I will try using it in place of sliced cheese on a sandwich.I'll let ya know:)0

Hummus, Carrots, Almonds, Rice Cakes. I used to not like Rice Cakes (taste like styrofoam) they have so many different flavors. Ohh..and who can forget Laughing Cow Cheese???0

my list usually includes anything by kashi , spinach, asparagus, strawberries, bananas, grapes, dole fruit cups, nonfat yogurt, skim milk, 100% whole grain bread, roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes, lean chicken or other meat (pork, beef, turkey)0

Try to stay on the periphery of the store - the middle aisles are the devil..
Fresh anything - fruits, veggies, meats (if you do that), fish (especially salmon - yum..), dairy..
Hummus -
Fresh pasta - especially whole wheat if you can find..
Natural peanut (or almond) butter.
Almonds, walnuts - go omega3 - baby..
Yummm - now I am hungry - are you getting some for me too?

Janiebeth was so right...shop the perimeter of the grocery store. All the processed food is in the center. Shop around through fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats and some low-fat dairy. That will be the majority, then hit the center for some whole grains and miscellaneous essentials.
One of the center things that we love is popcorn. Air pop it yourself, spray a little butter on it and there's something called Kernel's Seasonings that comes in many flavors (white cheddar is my fav). I think it's under 10 calories and is a great way to satisfy a munchy chip craving.
Good luck!

No sure if you have a problem with sodium - but I know that I certainly do. I've learned to stay away from cheeses (which makes me so sad because I love it !!) such as Feta, Cheddar, etc. Even the reduced-fat Feta was LOADED with Sodium. BUT, I just found the Alouette brand spreadable cheese in Sundried Tomato and Basil - sooooo yummy spread on a whole wheat tortilla!
Let's see, here's a list of some of my favorite foods right now: (finally being more concious about eating more 'clean')
-Frozen (or fresh) Edamame - VERY LIGHTLY Salted or not at all
-Fresh Spinach - mix it in a salad, saute it with chicken, etc.
-Fresh Sliced Mushrooms
-Garbonzo beans/Chick peas AKA HUMMUS!!
-100 calorie mini bags of popcorn
-Sunkist Navel Oranges
-Green (or red, depending on what you like) Grapes
-Cucumbers
-Salmon and Chicken; even ground chicken breast is good!
Ummm, that's about all I can think of now. Hope you've come up with a lot of ideas! :drinker: :flowerforyou:0 -
