Starvation Mode

It seems there may be some truth to "starvation mode" after all.

After moving to maintenance mode, I bumped my daily calories up about 20-25%, nothing else was changed and lo and behold, I started losing weight again after a 2 month plateau.

I could still stand to lose 5 to 10 lbs, so I'm not complaining, and the extra daily calories are great ;)

I had the same thing happen. It took about a month for my weight to level out. Congrats on the loss!

I argued with my husband for years:heart: he told me I had to eat more to lose weight and of course as usual he was right again.

Same thing happened to me! I was stuck for a while but I realized I was okay with my weight so I changed my goal to 0.5lb/week, statred eating more, and then BAM I started to lose a ton again!

I was doing around 1600-1800 calories for a long time. Bumped up to 2100 for the past week and the pounds are coming off again.

I'm curious to see how many calories I'll have to eat when I am finally done and want to fully maintain.

Oh yeah, I also eat back the majority of my exercise calories each day...

Eat more, lose more, gotta love it.

I lost .4 lbs each of the past 2 days again :)

It's looking like I'll hit that 200-205 mark yet.
  • I totally agree with this, I hit a plateau and my PT suggested I up my calories and 'shock' my body back into life!! First week of doing this I lost more than in the whole previous month ... it definitely works :-D
